OMG! I think I found my taco tuesday spot! When I sat down one of the servers brought me chips and salsa which was really good. Then I ordered the asada, fish, and birria tacos with a corona. I sat at the bar because it was only me. But let me tell you the fish tacos were so amazing! I need to order like 5 of them next time. The asada and birria tacos were very flavorful. Let me tell you the service was on point. My server Bri was awesome! The ambiance is so cool too.. I'm definitely going to come back for sure. I came back after 10 months to try this place again. And let me tell you.. the food got better than my 1st visit. Everything was excellent this time around. read more

For $2 for chips & salsa I would EXPECT nothing but the crispiest, hottest, freshest, deliciousness chips but unfortunately I would not pay $2 for these the tacos were so mid!!! The veggie to steak ratio should be illegal.... 100 pieces of steak vs. one cilantro leave and 4 onion chunks -_- The kimchi taco was pretty good & the birria quesadillas was BUSSIN! read more

I got some late night munchies at Taqueria52 on Friday, Jan 17, 2025 at 10:30 pm. The establishment wasn't busy for a late Friday night for dine-in, but was more busy at the bar. Honestly, I wasn't that impressed with the tacos here. They looked and tasted pretty typical of tacos you would get from a taco truck. The presentation was elementary and lacked that restaurant quality. The asada was bland. The shrimp tasted like it was previously frozen. It really needed help with some more seasoning and I thought it could benefit some freshness from pico de gallo. The guacamole was such a small portion that I cannot really forgive for given the price of $8.50. I'm a huge chip dunker when it comes to guacamole and the entire bowl was gone after like 5 chips. The kicker here is when we ordered a second guacamole, it came out with even less portion than the first time. Although the service was friendly and nice, it was slow. It probably didn't help that we were sat in the back of the restaurant. It took a while for our orders to be taken. Overall, a pretty underwhelming experience in terms of both food and service. read more

Jan. 17, 2025 Came with my sister and fam to try it out and was good. I ordered: - Al Pastor Taco - Birria Taco - Crispy Shrimp Taco - Guacamole dip (appetizer) The Gauc was good but it was a small portion. You might want to order 2 portion . I really loved the Birria Taco, my favorite out of the 3 I ordered. 2nd runner up will be the Crispy Shrimp Taco and then Al Pastor (there are slices of pineapple). I'll come back next time and try out their Korean Fried Chicken. read more

I didn't know they owned by my fav Tonkatsu spot Kisoya and Their fried whole chicken is amazing!!!! Tender and so well seasoned! Their taco also taste pretty good as well! But what best is it comes with an ice cream store and the ice cream taste amazing too! Got the Ube and Horchata flavor. They both taste strong and like how it should be. Highly recommend! read more

Ummmmm, I am definitely on the fence with this place, super slow service ( they were not even crowded this past Wednesday ), we could barely get a waitress over, and it took a long time to get my unseasoned chicken fajitas. We also tried to get ice cream afterwards but after ringing the bell and still having to wait almost 10 mins for the same slow waitress to come and get the ice cream also, I just decided against it all together. Definitely a cute little place, and I have not written them off for good, but they definitely will not be my first choice with so many options for Mexican food around. Prices: 8 Service: 1 Food: 4 Ambiance: 10 read more

Restaurant was slow. Only 2 tables occupied. It took over 50 minutes to receive our food. Appetizers brought before plates and silverware, had to wait and appetizers became cold. Mushy soup, flavor was not good. Another entree made incorrectly. Waiter said appetizers were for one person, up selled- they were enough to feed 3 times . Would not return here. read more

Tim and Ashley were very nice and welcoming and catered to my needs with perfection !! I recommend them , they are great !!

This place is really close and if my receipt is correct (forgot to ask), our server was Kacy J, who was really awesome. It's nice and new and a cute place. We got complimentary chips and salsa, which was ok. I ordered 3 tacos, which was more than I can eat, substituting for flour tortillas and no white onions, but the guacamole and pico de gallo is decent. I had a birria (which I need to stop getting bc it's an oily one with cheese like a mini quesadilla, but that meat is really good!). I had a chicken and a steak, which they give a lot of meat and it was decent. K had an asada burrito, which he liked and said was super filling. He also ordered the spicy Korean chicken wings, which we both loved!! They should keep them year round and not just seasonally. K had apple pie flavored ice cream and he really liked it. I tasted the coffee ice cream and it was decent, but I didn't get any. I would come back for the wings! read more

First things first, they're open till 1am so if you want a late night restaurant, this is the place to go. It wasn't as busy as I thought it would be so I was able to be sat immediately, and had to option to choose where to sit. I was greeted immediately and was brought water as well. After looking over their main menu and seasonal menu, we ordered 2 kimchi tacos, T52 fries (loaded fries), and the al pastor burrito. The total was around $30. I had my mom with me, so we ended up sharing everything we ordered, and she really enjoyed it and still talks about it to this day. For some context, this isn't the type of food she would normally enjoy, so for her to continuously talk about it it was pretty good. The reason I'm giving this place 4 stars instead of 5 is the service. As good as the service was, our server waited next to us for us to pay, even after we told them we would pay in cash. It not only puts pressure on the guests, but also the burden to leave soon. Overall, would come back though regardless of the service since it wasn't entirely bad. read more

Ash was super attentive and I didn't have to even look up. Her attention to detail went beyond what I would expect from a bar. Even though I came for drinks, I was welcomed to a comforting experience that left to a point that I couldn't forget. Nice interior, and the bar looked well stocked. Service wasn't bad either. The food was disappointing. My wife ordered some tacos and the steak was decent, but the cauliflower was hardly cooked and not very warm. For the price they charge for tacos (around $5ea) you'd expect larger portions or complimentary rice/beans. I ordered the birria ramen, which was very bland. The Birria taco was actually solid but the ramen was not. Wanted to like this place more, and it gave good vibes for a drinking spot. read more

The tacos were great, cool little setting places clean. I had the Birreroia taco, flavor was on point and the dipping sauce. Waitress had a nice 90's playlist so bonus points for that. I would definitely come back read more

The place is pretty cool looking but looks can be deceiving. I sat with a glass of water for quite a while, waiting on the complimentary chips and salsa and the drink I ordered. The cocktail, when it finally appeared, was pretty good (passionkiss margarita) I guess. The waitress said the chips were on the way. My burrito arrived. It was a sloppy mess wrapped in wax paper. It would have been nice if they had provided utensils to eat it with because it literally fell apart in my hands. I asked about the chips. "Oh there's a problem with that, but they are coming." I finished the burrito and asked for my check. Apparently chips and salsa are beyond the ability of the chef. read more

TL;DR: If you value your time and want to eat in a reasonable time, do NOT order here. Ordered 2 fajitas, 4 tacos and a guacamole (~$60). Did not get it after waiting 1 hour and 40 minutes. Timeline (from texts): 10:26 pm - Placed order online, said it will be done at 10:39 pm 10:50 pm - Arrived at restaurant, I went up to the server station since there was no host in the front. Asked about my pickup order and was told "Hah, it won't be done for a minute. We are backed up." I was like, ok... and started waiting at the bar. Observed that the places was decently filled so I was OK with waiting a bit. 11:26 pm - After waiting 35 minutes, asked if my order was ready. They asked for my order, I showed it to them, they said OK and went to the kitchen with no further response. Observed at this point that they had ~15 people at the bar and 3 tables. I was thinking about canceling at this point but thought it would be done soon. 11:42 pm - Asked about the order again and this time, the employees in the front went back to the kitchen and packed the two fajitas. Then, was told that the tacos were not ready yet. 11:55 pm - No further updates other than the "Waiting on the tacos." I decided that I've waited too long (1hr 40min) and asked to cancel the order for a refund and left. During my time at the restaurant, there were two other people waiting for a pickup order who've also waited 1hr+ with me, but fortunately for them, they got their orders at the end. I am very unsure why it even took this long since there was only 3 tables with people as well as the 15ish people at the bar. The lack of response from staff was very frustrating since there was no justification for the wait. If this was a "bad day", I sincerely hope this is one of the worst ones. I will not be back to find out if this really was a bad day. read more

Having just moved to Duluth and I gave Taqueria 52 more than one opportunity and it has never been good. If you are looking for a great Mexican Cantina go around the corner to Alebrije Mexican Restaurant. I promise you the experience is 100% better. The variety of food and drinks, the noise level (you can hear your date) and not be frozen out by the temperature of the bar. Thankfully there are plenty of other options in the same courtyard area as Taqueria 52. Gu Thai has amazing Ramen, Jak Omakase for sushi with excellent service. Hōō Izakaya is a hopping place with a full bar that is not loud and obnoxious. I will concede that I haven't tried Taqueria 52's new brunch menu, but Paris Baguette is also right there, and they are delicious!! read more

Stopped by for a quick lunch to get some tacos. The restaurant was super open, inviting, and clean. I ordered 3 tacos - the Cauliflower Al Pastor, Al Pastor, and Asada. Along with the order, I got chips and two sauces with it. I was really curious about the Cauliflower Al Pastor Taco, and it turned out to be my favorite of the 3. It was sweet and savory with pineapple and spices. The cauliflower was soft and easy to eat. The Al Pastor was similar, but with pork instead. The pork was a little too fatty for me, so I did not like the flavor combination The Asada was a little tougher and not well seasoned. read more

Way too over priced, 4.75$ for a single taco and around 7-8$ for a very small portion of cheese dip that was lukewarm. Couple things about this place. It's not your traditional, authentic Mexican cuisine. So if you're looking for it, stay away. Service was disappointing to be generous. My wife and I went on a Saturday around lunch time with 3 other parties there and it was horrific. Honestly, I was the most disappointed with the salsas they give you. They have 3 and all of them were bland, sour or just odd in taste. Probably wouldn't go back considering the prices for some of the items are steep. read more

Very rude server, and limited service. Food took over an hour to come out for simple burritos and tacos. There was no flavor in the food, I could have made it better even at home. For a taqueria, they were playing very slow country music. I do not recommend ever eating here read more

Their happy hour margaritas are so good... tacos are excellent too with all the hot sauce. It's become my place to drink margarita

Met my daughter here on Sunday afternoon. Clean and nicely decorated. The service was great. My daughter was a little late so I ordered appetizers and drink before she arrived. Spicy Margarita was good. They ask level of spice I wanted, which I appreciated, I went very. Ordered chips, guacamole and salsa. Chips well done, quacamole was fresh and nice. Salsa good but not outstanding. My daughter arrived and ordered same drink with normal spice. Queso and tacos. Enjoyed. There is an area at the back where they have ice cream and other choices. I got cherry sorbet, daughter, coconut sorbet. We were ask by several servers if we needed anything and if food was good! Will return for another visit when in area as very pleased. read more
