Beef burrito
Kike F.

This is a Mexican restaurant located in Duluth, good mexican ambience with typical style decorations, music was good, service was very friendly, they speak English and Spanish, food was very good with fresh ingredients, i ordered a beef burrito and beef taco salad, you must try this place with family and friends.

This is my favorite taco restaurant. The staff is always friendly and quick. The inside is always clean. My favorite order is tacos chorizo, asada, or pastor. The tacos are huge for the same price as other taco spots, but these are the better than other places I've had. Meat quality, ingredients, everything is good. The burrito is also very good.

I really did not enjoy this. The place looked super authentic and I had really high hopes but it was not good. The fish was tough, as were the carnitas (tough and dry) and the chicken had no seasoning. As a matter of fact, nothing had any seasoning. Just bland and dry. It's a pity because the service was friendly but the food just doesn't measure up.

Chicken, shrimp, and fish deluxe tacos

Tacos ... let's get into it. I was craving some tacos and stumbled upon this local spot while searching online. Now I didn't want just any tacos, I wanted real authentic tacos. This gem popped up with a solid rating and convincing photos and 20 minutes later hubby and I pulled up to the front of the restaurant that's tucked into a little strip surrounded by other restaurants (Chinese, Indian, etc.) I felt like I hit the global cuisine holy grail, but I digress, let's talk about the food. I ordered three tacos: chicken, shrimp, and fish (supreme). The chicken was hands down my favorite, followed by the fish (tilapia). As expected, the tacos came with a lime on the side that added a nice touch of acid. I have to be honest, these might've been some of the best tacos I've had in a very, very long time! Parking is tight but we were able to secure a spot that someone was pulling out of. This place seems to be a local lunch favorite for the surrounding workers so many patrons were on foot which helped with the scarce parking. Good to know: *This place is a family-owned and family-run business (love that)! *There is an up charge for using credit/debit so bring cash if you can so you can save money ... for more tacos obviously. Price: Three tacos and a canned soda ran us about $15 a piece before tip. Highly recommended and will definitely be back!

I can't get enough of this place. The food tastes really authentic; Tacos are very fresh and delicious ~ my favorites are tripe and chorizo. I was very impressed to know that most of the ingredients they bring them directly from their local town in Oaxaca, Mexico. Tlayudas are like Mexican pizzas, and one can feed easily two people. They serve all dishes with two kinds of sauces; the green one is mild and the red one is very hot. You should give it a try if you want to taste authentic Mexican food, and specially from Oaxaca!

I love this place! They have a great selection of traditional mexican taqueria food and the staff is always so sweet and helpful. The interior is a no frills, hole in the wall vibe and you just know the food is fire. The meal I crave the most woulthe al pastor quesadilla plate with a side of chips and guac. Their tacos and agua frescas are also a great choice. I come here at least once every time I visit from the northeast!

My sister's become a regular at this taqueria, and she finally got around to bringing me here during my visit. What a lovely little spot! Located in the little strip mall I dub as Little Pakistan in Duluth, TLO is a hole in the wall taqueria run by a sweet family who are familiar with their regulars which adds to the experience. It's a standard taqueria, meaning you go up to the counter to order, take a seat, and then the food is brought to you. I wanted to try a couple of things so we, without paying attention to our calorie count for the day ;), ordered: *sopes with asada- sopes are fried corn dough cakes with toppings (think Chalupa breading). The sope held the toppings well but could have used a bit more flavor *mulita con chicken tinga- this was amazing! A mulita is similar to a quesadilla but smaller and made from almost a lightly fried corn tortilla with all toppings stuffed inside such as the tinga, avocado, crema, etc. The tinga was so full of flavor *nachos con asada- PLENTIFUL toppings and meat with crisp chips which is always the dream. They put melted shredded cheese on these so they were a bit dry for me; we ended up getting queso dip to pour on top which hit the right note. They also had a selection of glass bottle sodas and Jarritos. Some days, they also have homemade dessert but they didn't when we went in All in all, standard good taqueria food. I could totally imagine this becoming my go-to if I lived in Duluth. Support local and family-run businesses!

Chips and salsa
Madison Y.

Food was excellent. This place served the perfect amount of food for a good price. Service was great, and it was very authentic. They served complimentary chips and salsa which was a nice surprise. The chicken was excellent--some of my favorite I've ever had!! The nachos were addictive, we ate them all. They had a couple salsa choices in squeeze bottles in a fridge for self-service. They were all great! I would love to return in the future.

Deluxe tacos
Michael W.

Here the tortillas are fresh and handmade. You can choose flour or corn, same price, for each taco. Both are good! There are 13 different tacos Mon to Fri. Sat and Sun add goat to the deluxe So what is the difference regukar or deluxe? Well regular is just onion and cilantro on top. Deluxe is tomato, cheese, cream, and lettuce. I found the tacos to be quite good! Pay at the counter when you order and they bring to your table. Or take them to go. Hot sauce from the fridge in squeeze bottles, both red and green available. I prefer the green.

Chicken burrito ("with rice and beans" means it's inside the burrito).

If you want a $7 burrito to last you two meals, don't care about chips/salsa (because the salsa is very different from most Mexican restaurants), and don't care about squirting sauce all over your clothes, check this place out. My burrito was huge, had rice/beans/cheese/lettuce in it, and has lasted me two days. However, if you're dining in, whatever-the-heck kind of squirt bottles that sit on the tables are WACK. I picked one up, held it upside down directly over my burrito, and it side-squirted all over my sleeve. After wiping that off, I used the other salsa/sauce in the other squirt bottle, held it directly over my burrito, and this time it shot out all over the front of my shirt! Thank God I live walking distance from my work place so I could go home to change! All in all, I would go again...but not with my business work clothes on.

This place is a hidden gem hole in the wall restaurant! We weren't expecting too much when we went to try it out for dinner but it definitely exceeded expectations. We tried a variety of things on the menu to get a taste of everything and each time I bit into the next thing, my taste buds were blown away. The food is family cheap as the tacos can cost as low as $1.99 depending on what kind of meat you get and I even saw some things on the menu that did not seem common at other Mexican restaurants. The lady at the restaurant was very friendly and willing to answer any questions since some of the menu items were things we were not very familiar with. Free chips and salsa was also a plus!

Shrimp and steak fajitas
Verity W.

Located in a neighborhood shopping center this is definitely a Duluth local gem. Mostly everyone there was ordering their food to go but they did have plenty of comfortable booths. I was given a snack size basket of salsa and chips while I waited for my food. (Very nice touch) I ordered shrimp and steak fajitas with extra flower tortillas and it came with rice and refried beans. My order total was $14. The food was AMAZING!!!! Very flavorful. I was disappointed that I was only given a small portion of rice and beans with hardly any sour cream and lettuce on the side. However, the food was good and I will definitely return next time I'm in the area. Things to note: The menu is in Spanish and English Service is friendly Booth and table seating Casual dining Clean Free parking

Tripa deluxe, Al Pasto and Asada tacos
Wanisha H.

Delicious! The waitress recommended the tripa (tripe) taco and it was the best out of three. All of the tacos were delicious and distinct in flavor. I wanted to order 2 more tripas to go but I will wait til next time. The food came out quick and waitress is friendly.

We ordered drinks, apps, and tacos. Drinks were good! We ordered grapefruit paloma and a margarita. Ask for extra salt, if you like. The apps we went for was queso with chorizo, and it was yummy. The salsa was okay, it looked like it came from a jar, but otherwise I was fine with it since I was craving salsa and chips lol. I ordered 3 tacos: 2 carne asada and 1 barbacoa taco. They were so good! Their corn tortillas definitely look handmade, and the portions are filling. The meats were juicy and not dry, very flavorful. This restaurant was very clean, with a 99 health score so iykyk! I'm surprised this place was already opened for 3 years! It's such a hidden gem in this plaza, and I look forward to going back. It's family owned, so the hours are not like most restaurants.

The facilities were modern, very clean and the staff, very kind and helpful. The food was delicious with the majority of the patrons being from Latino descent. We ordered chips with queso, 2 tamale and taco meals and a Carne Asada. Tasty, moist and flavorful tamales (one chicken and one pork with mild red sauce) as well as delicious tacos (Al pastor and birria). I've heard good things about the mole sauce but they were sold out of it. The steak was a little tough but the flavor was delicious. Honorable mention to the rice and beans and guacamole! Wow wow wow. The portions were really great also. So much so I needed a box for my taco. Overall great value with a lunch meal for 3 with an appetizer for about $50 bucks. Great experience!

We stopped by at breakfast-time and ordered: breakfast burrito: flavorful and good, plus easily split into 2 meals. comes with chips or fries. Fries were perfectly cooked and had a tasty seasoning on them. $13-14 breakfast plate: This was ok. It's billed as a scramble but is griddle scrambled and the eggs were very very hard cooked. I would prefer an overdone egg than a soft egg, so that was ok, but I would order them differently if I returned. There were lots of tomatoes, peppers and onions which was nice for flavor, but there were so many that there weren't many "curds" of scrambled eggs if that makes sense. The refried beans might be the tastiest I've ever had. The rice was "ok". The soft corn tortillas were very fresh. If not housemade, these are coming in every day for sure. $13-14 Rajas and cheese tamales: Didn't try these because of the cheese, but they were medium sized and smelled good $4 each Vegan black bean tamales: These come in banana leaves, which I've not had before. I could do without the flavor of the leaf, which is actually pronounced (this surprised me). The masa was lovely and the black bean filling was delicious and well seasoned. I like to pan fry my tamales to reheat and they were stellar the next day. $4 each The staff was friendly and handled accommodations (no dairy, corn tortillas instead of flour) smoothly. I would go again if I was in the area.
