Katy used to cook in the Santa Maria area of California and it shows. I really love her tender, nicely smoked tri tip - often in a sandwich, sometimes in a wrap. She also makes a killer pineapple salsa that really sets it off. Ribs and chicken are available too, as are Santa Maria style beans. This all happened because I asked how he planned to handle a dent in my trailer caused by one of his intoxicated clients. On top of that, multiple clients of mine have complained about feeling unusually intoxicated after just one drink while there, which is concerning. If you run a mobile business, I strongly recommend staying away. The owner has a serious temper and extremely poor communication.

After a quick visit to their Instagram, I found their location. Next thing you know, two croc wearing travelers are walking into a Cattle Auction! The truck was easy to spot: bright orange! They had a menu of classic items, although a local told us they change it up. My eyes went for the Burnt Ends, while my husband ordered the Brisket Sandwich. I hate to say there was a winner of the two, but there was. The Brisket Sandwich was piled high with the perfect combination of lean and fatty brisket. It just melted in your mouth! There may have been a battle over who got the last bite haha. :D Luckily, we got the same side of Potato Salad. Although, I should have challenged my husband for the last bite of his, as well. It was absolutely delicious! Beyond the great BBQ, the owner of the truck and his family were ultra friendly and kind. It made us feel like we were back in TX for a moment.
