    Chimichanga

Great takeout joint, and great value! Delicious tacos - we enjoyed each one we ordered - flaky fish tacos, perfectly plump shrimp, and tender tongue tacos! The pastor sope had chunks of pineapple. The guac was yummy, with chunks of avocado. The only thing that underwhelmed was the chicken chimichanga z which was mostly filled with rice, and chimichanga itself was not crisp on the outside.

Taqueria Gonzales is one of the best kept secrets in Middleton. This place is incredible! Great service, great value, great food. Best authentic Mexican food in Madison hands down! It is a part of a Mexican grocery store but they have booths and tables to dine in as well. Carry out is also an option that make people do here. If you do dine in you come in and they have a large menu with pictures on the wall. Someone takes your order at the counter and then they bring the food to you while you are seated. They have great chips, salsa and guacamole. Really authentic street tacos. And on tuesdays their tacos are $1.50 and BOGO Modelo beers. Delicious and quality food! Highly recommend checking this place out. They are closed on Sundays though, something I had to find out the hard way.

Delicious tacos and quesadillas! The value here is incredible. The food was authentic and very reasonably priced, especially because both the tacos and quesadilla were stuffed with meat. I normally order chicken tacos, but the chorizo and steak were far superior to the chicken taco. Their salsas are not for the faint of heart! The taco platter came with rice and beans. The beans were incredibly delicious! Our full meal was $20, plus they have sodas and other beverages to grab for your meal. We will definitely go back!

Taco combo: Barbacoa, al pastor, and carnitas. Yummy

I was pretty impressed how much meat was in the tacos. It was dressed nicely and simply with onions and cilantros. The Burritto was also pretty delicious. All the ingredients were stuffed and melted all together which made every bite tasty. I also ordered a chorizo sopa and the flavors were there but I think I couldn't enjoy it as much because I was so full. A burrito and two tacos and some rice and beans was quite a lot lol but I couldn't decide and it all sounded good. The red and green sauce on the side was good but quite spicy for me. I liked the flavor of the green one so I used it anyway:) . Again, it could have been because I was really full, but the carnitas meat was a bit tough. I think I got a lot of edge pieces. I'd get takeout from here again.

3 tacos. Rice. Beans. What more can you ask for?

Hard to say. Delicious to eat. Abarrotes is an Immaculate and well organized market with a tasty grill smack dab in the middle. You order at the counter and they sit down in the small dining area to wait for your order to be called. I visited during lunch and ordered the taco platter-3 tacos, rice and beans for $8.99. They have a wide variety of proteins to choose from, I opted for tongue, barbacoa, and chorizo. Each taco comes with your typical two corn toritlla set-up topped with cilantro and onions. Simple. Perfection. I am a big fan of their tortillas. They are smaller than average (but stuffed to the gills with meat) but their taste is incredible. Besides taco, they also offer sopes, burritos and a few other specials on weekends. I will definitely be back as they offer up some of the best mexican in town.

Finally came here for the first time for taco Tuesday and I must say the el pastor tacos were on point! Great flavor and a nice kick to the hot sauce on the side. High marks from a guy that got spoiled living in California for 15 years. Quick and easy online purchase and pickup as well.

Carnitas and shrimp tacos. Chicken sopes.

I had the prosciutto sandwich and my SO had the pastrami and both had nothing but good things to say as we ate. The prosciutto sandwich had balsamic that had just started to soak into the otherwise crunchy bread, with these big chunks of mozzarella and the freshest tomatoes and greens. Alimentari itself is this awesome little deli/grocer with both bagged pastas AND FRESH PASTA/antipasti available to buy, as well as all sorts of goods, breads, coffees, chocolates, beverages and a whole wine selection. Beware that there is no seating inside but definitely do not let this dissuade you from visiting.

I ordered the smoked turkey sandwich, and the gentleman taking my order pointed to a random piece of focaccia on display on the counter and asked if I'd like my sandwich on that. I don't know what kind of bread if normally comes on, but I have since read about the thicker/crustier bread on some reviews. Gosh am I glad he offered the focaccia. The bread made this sandwich, it was sooo good. It was light and fluffy despite being substantial in size, and had this delightful little crunch from the sea salt on it (not in a salty sense, just in a wonderful texture sense). There was a ton of turkey on it and it was a yummy smoked flavor. The other fixings were standard but complimented the sandwich very well. The sandwich was tasty and filling. All this said, because I paid $16 for my sandwich, I wouldn't make it a regular occurrence, maybe a special treat. But if it's on regular bread, particularly a harder crust bread, I think I'd skip it entirely. You do get a lot of sandwich for your money, but I just can't justify it. So, overall, this is definitely worth trying and deciding for yourself - I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Pistachio one was my favorite. There were many Asian ice creams. Propitious mango was a good one. There were a lot of small food places in the food hall. I tried food from a lot of different places. The food hall had a lot of seats, and was neatly maintained. It was never crowded. Kawasaki is close to the entry of Global Market. So the first time I was there, I went straight to this place. I had a Chicken katsu rice bowl. It was one of the best food I had in the food hall. Display had some very delicious and cute cakes. Next time I should try some of that. Taiwan Street has nice pho and bubble tea. I went for a pistachio milk shake, without bubbles. It was good. But I think I should have really went for a pho. They have a lots of sweets in display. I went for a peach swiss roll and a sesame ball. Both were good. From Dumpling House, I went for a chicken and mushroom dumpling and chinese chive pie. Both were good . It came steaming hot. I think I should have gone for some of their more favorite items like chive and pork dumpling. From Nice Flavor Stir Fry , I went for a sauteed sliced lamb with cumin. Generally this is a really flavorful dish which you cannot go wrong with. But it wasn't as good as I expected. Flavors were off, and the quality fo meat was not as good as I expected. Stir fry chicken mei fun was my favorite item from Bowl Bowl Rice. It came hot and was flavorful. I also had a tea leaf flavor egg. It was just $1. But it came with egg shell. I had to peel it. Egg was slightly less flavorful than I expected. Mochi donut is the main item in Glazed. There were some food items as well, but I didn't find takers for that. I went for 3 donuts - Oreo, honey dew and churro. The flavors were all interesting. May be oreo was my favorite. Donut texture was more chewy. From S&B Hmong Kitchen, I went for a fried rice from this place. It was flavorful. Cilantro and scallion on top gave a nice flavor kick. From Poké Mì, I went for a drunken noodles as my entree. It was not as good as I expected. Flavors were off. May be I should have gone for bahn mi. I haven't seen sugar cane juice anywhere else in Madison. So went for one. I thought it was just ok.

Service is standard Asian service - minimal but adequate. This is such a gem in Madison. I will be back!
