Stopped here for lunch. First off the lady who waited on us was the best! The atmosphere was pretty typical Mexican restaurant decor. The food? I had the three cheese enchilada plate. The enchilada gravy was pretty good but much too much cheese on top off the enchiladas (for my tastes anyway) but the side of onions I requested made up for it. The refried beans & Mexican rice was good! The salsa was a little thin but had a good flavor. My husband ordered the steak platter. He said it was GOOD. Their menu is huge with lots of choices! Solid. Chips n salsa are amazing, although the red salsa seems a bit watered (still good, just not a fan of dripping). My Chile Relleno was awesome! My friends enjoyed their Fajitas and Lengua De Mexicana. The menu is massive and portions were huge. Pictures on the menu was a tad blurry, and the dish lacks a description. First off, if you are dining in, sit at the tables, not the booths. The booths are awkwardly tall. Shaquille O'Neal would fit perfectly in these booths, but for the rest of us mortals, the table top is darn near at chin level. Secondly, I'm a straw guy when I have a beverage. The cups are so large that the straws are too short to work. I lost my straw twice in my seemingly 100 ounce glass. If you are a hot sauce person, you have come to the right place. I counted 5 different sauces to choose from at each table, not to mention the green & red sauce they bring to you tableside with your chips. This review is based solely on the tacos. I tried the napolitos (cactus), beef fajita, and chicken tacos. They were all good, but nothing stood out to me. The chicken & beef fajita were fairly bland in my opinion. Luckily, there was the army of hot sauces to rectify that. I had a very pleasant server and the pricing was reasonable. Taqueria Jalisco may not be at the top of my totem poll for Mexican cuisine, but don't take my word for it, try it yourself. read more

The menu is quite a variety, with many food items available as well as photos next to every description. On our way to Houston we happened to crave Mexican food. After searching multiple places we amor across this restaurant. Although the ratings weren't high the food looked very appetizing. Sure enough it was! Very authentic and they give you big portions of food for a very reasonable price. I ordered a chicken fajita quesadilla it came with pico the gallo, guacamole and sour cream. I dont normally eat here for lunch. I normally do breakfast and their breakfast rocks. Their lunch is so so and prices are good.

These reviews are a joke. The service is horrible. The food was gross. The ground beef was dry. The refried beans are watery. The rice lacks flavor. The server was annoyed because we asked for prices of the beers and individual items. One of the waitresses sons was sitting at a table playing a video game and it was so loud an older gentleman had to get up and move across the restaurant. I tried to go to the bathroom and the restroom door was unlocked and the same servers son was on the toilet with his pants down. Seriously. Worst Mexican restaurant experience ever! read more

After a well-deserved hiatus, I took a party of 5 here for Sun. evening dinner. Avoid the Chiles Relleno. Not good and my iron-stomach son is still trying to recover. Other son felt 'way-gouged for 4 tiny soft tacos. My Pollo Ranchero was OK, but was free of MX flavor. Every dish, every item, has gone up in price. The one that riles me most is thin 'merican cheese queso is now $3.89 for 3-4 ounces. We all pledged...and pledge to you...that we'll never be back. read more

I thought I had already reviewed Taqueria Jalisco in Conroe, but seems I haven't. I've reviewed other taco restaurants in the area, and almost always mention the much better taquerias in Conroe, and have even mentioned Jalisco by name. Now that I live a bit of a ways from Conroe's north loop, I rarely get up that way, but did go up a couple weeks ago. I was desperate for a good taqueria taco! Now, in the past I've eaten several different dishes at Jalisco's, and to the best of my memory I was never disappointed, and enjoyed everything I've tried. But, concerning the tacos, theirs reminds me of the original style you'd get at Taqueria Arandas in Houston like 30 and 40 years ago. The barbacoa at Jaliscos are my favorite, so the other day I got two of them along with a bowl of charros beans and an iced tea. The tacos consist of two corn tortillas, and they are piled up with barbacoa meat! With the chopped onions and cilantro and a little squirt of their taco sauce I was in heaven! The amount of meat is about three times what you get on a toco at Taco USA, Hello Taco, or any other of the new taco restaurants. They charge usually about $3.50 for one. Jalisco charges $1.75! The charro beans are excellent there. Anyway, highly recommend them to anyone looking for an excellent taqueria in this area. read more
