I really don't like to give a bad review but I really didn't like the tacos at all and I love tacos. The other problem is that they were $4 apiece. Which is really a lot for not a very good taco. Plus they really don't have much of a drink menu. I'm talking beer too. Well went back couple years later. Nothing has changed but the price. More expensive for a taco. To bad. read more

Fun stylish little tacoholix spot to be. the food was larger portions then expected. The loaded nachoes add black beans was deliscious. The touch thete serect select pickle on everything made rach taco and dressing there own. The owner was very friendly they have a good beer selection as well. read more

We randomly stopped by one night and absolutely fell in love with Tacoholix! The food was soooo good and the staff was the friendliest! Generally, we don't head to bars because of the atmosphere but Tacoholix is so laid back and comfy. I think everyone needs to try here at least once! read more

Decided to give Tacoholix another chance, mainly intending to have a beer and some chips & beer cheese. I ended up ordering nachos and now I feel bad about my last review. Nachos were solid and the beef on it was crazy good with a lot of seasoning. Also they are making beer based drinks with fresh squeezed juice now and my beer-rita was delicious. We love street tacos and this place offers such a creative menu. Today's special had two versions of pork belly tacos. I can only describe them as having a Caribbean flair; one with a coconut sauce and the other with a red cabbage and jalapeño slaw. So delicious! The regular taco menu offers a creative variety. The beers are locally brewed. Order your tacos at the bar because as great as our service was, there are no table servers! The kitchen is a cool food truck parked out back. Kenny, the chef, is friendly and meets with the customers when he isn't slammed preparing meals. The owner/manager is welcoming and a food visionary. We went on a Thursday night which worked well for us. Thursday night is live music night. What a great addition to Wheeling. read more

I've visited this place a total of three times. The first time it took FOREVER to get my food and I almost walked out, but the tacos were fantastic. The second time was great, fast service delicious food, etc. The third time sucked. The dude behind the bar moves in slow motion. He let us stand for over 10 minutes before taking our order and then screwed up 2 out of three of the orders. His response was not good. He suggested we modify our order ourselves and basically shrugged it off. I will not eat in anymore. I will give them one more try on a take out order and if they F that up or make me wait forever, they lose a customer and all of the good will I was spreading for them in the community. The new menu has been a HUGE step in the right direction. You can finally get a regular taco from Tacoholix. The "Glenn Bell" taco now comes regularly with chorizo, lettuce, and cheese. But, you can swap out the chorizo for any other protein(with a $1 up-charge if you choose steak). As long as I don't get talked down to anymore by the employees for just wanting a basic taco, Tacoholix will now be one of my go-to spots for lunch. read more

So I was up in WV for work. Im from southTexas and consider myself somewhat a taco afficiando. The tacos werent what you might call traditional but the choices are good, the tacos are big and delicious. I tried the Lucky Pig and The Juan. Both were very very good. The staff was friendly, helpful, and a lot of fun. Great service, great food, and fun times. I would definitely recomend this place to friends and family. The tacos were the TITS!!!! read more

My husband and I stopped by last night! Food was good and reasonably priced! Loved the atmosphere. The staff was really friendly and helpful. The fish taco was good. The steak taco was ok but a whopping $9 and it was sliced very thick: difficult to eat without looking like a Neanderthal. The steak was cooked well but lacked flavor - it should have been marinated. I had a bite of the Glenn Bell and it's shell was delicious! Both tacos tasted minimalist. It's great food for Wheeling, WV as this community is lacking ethnic diversity, but at $4 a taco I would rather drive 35 minutes to Las Palmas in Washington, PA and pay $2.50 for an authentic taco: beef, pork, chicken, steak, barbacoa, and others all the same price. I also like being able to add pico, crema, and different salsas at will. The service and staff are amazing. read more

I had a great experience here the last two times I went. I was in there late at night for drinks the first time, the staff is incredibly friendly and the environment encourages fun and interaction versus just eating. You can play games with friends and get drinks for a good price. The second time I came here was for dinner and I can say the original Juan was one of my favorite braised pork tacos I've had. They have a wide variety of taco combinations for a good price like barbecue type to pierogi style and pizza style. If I had one complaint, I wish they had more styles of a regular taco, but all in all every taco was delicious and I will definitely be back for food, drinks, and a good time. read more

I hail from the land of Texas and was very excited to see a promising taco joint open up. I have tried the majority of the tacos here (that to say i have given Tacoholix a fair try) and I can summarize my experience in 6 words. Atrocious to the very last bite. Who in the name of the good lord, hurt the owner as a child to force these food crimes upon the general public?! I cannot, for the life of me figure out why this place has gotten so many good reviews. The atmosphere is nice, sure. The staff is very courteous, to be expected. The beer is very good, a godsend. But the food seems to have been derived in some fresh, horrifying hellscape or maybe some half remembered nightmare of Steven King. I feel like since there is nothing else to compare it to, it tastes good by no comparison? I feel fury renewed every time I drive by this place. I believe that this can be done right: Throw some seasoning into your @$#*ing food/barbacoa/carnitas for the love of James Almos! Look up what the word "braised" means. Don't put pickles on a &@#$'ing taco, throw anything with "pig" in the title all the way in the grave and then salt the earth so that nothing ever grows there as a reminder of these horrendous "tacos"...Do yourself a favor and look up the menu of "torchy's" tacos from Texas to get an idea of how this is done right. I genuinely say this out of love of food because the people of Ohio Valley deserve so much better. But hey, at least the beer is good. read more

This is a great local place full of good food, drinks, and atmosphere. If you are looking for traditional simple tacos then this is not the place for you and you probably should find a taco bell instead. What you get here are specialty tacos full of flavor and style giving you a more gourmet dining experience. Even with a fairly limited menu it gives you plenty of variety to find what will make your taste buds happy. A little on the pricey side it is all worth it. Parking is limited out front but there is more within a short walk. This is a place you should try if you're looking for unique dining experience. read more

This seems like a great place for a light evening meal and drink. I went for lunch and got the Juan taco. It was okay, but nothing outstanding. It would have been better with lettuce and tomatoes or something to add flavor. We also didn't realize that we had to go to the bar to order when we were sitting at a table, so it took us a while to order. The food was delivered very quickly though, and our service was great after we ordered. I didn't even realize this was a restaurant/bar until my friend told me, because it's not advertised well on the outside. I'll definitely be back sometime though! read more

Great place good cold drinks beer wine and soda. I really enjoy what they have going on here using mason jars making own jalapenos promoting other Wheeling business. Very fast for your lunch to go or in, evenings just as fast sometimes to fast I like to have adrink or two before i eat. Menu is small but everything you need they have, chips, 9 tacos , sometimes a special taco as well, quasadilla, loaded chips, small salad, taco salad huge , only thing missing would be something like rice and or refried beans and something sweet. I enjoy the anchor bar reminds me of hot wings and i enjoy there pickles not a pickle person but these are great. Wish maybe they did something with peppers roasted shishito peppers or a cherry stuffed pepper or something with a pablano pepper. read more

I stopped in the establishment, and to my surprise..What a wonderful update to an old Victorian. The food is a step above the normal tacos. Great selections . You can wash it down with some good tasting local brews. And if it's Thursday, they have live entertainment. That's why I'm here. But the best thing about the place., is the staff. VERY DISAPPOINTED, I stopped in today because there right next door to Panda Express which I highly recommend, I wanted something to go with my pork fried rice and decided to give this taco place a try, I asked the guy working how big was the tacos which he informed me that they have 4 oz of meat so I ordered one which ran 5.50, upon receiving my order that came in a small cardboard box, I thought damn it seemed very light but I kept walking and when I got home I was very mad, I thought it must be some kinda joke, I haven't used this app in about 10 years, but needed to download just so I could write this review, I'll never go there again that I promise, even if they offered me a free one, they must be on drugs to rip people off, the place was emptied witch I didn't think anything of at the time but I can guess why, most of there reviews were very good but of been generated by friends or themselves because they might as well pulled out a gun and robbed me, at least that's how I feel, by the way if they let me add a pic after I'm done with this review I will read more
