I'm giving 5 STARS but with an honest review. This was my first time here at this restaurant. Wanted to find a new taco place to eat in Bolingbrook. The food here looks and tastes homemade! It's like if I were eating at someone's house, someone's "abuelas" home. The food was very flavorful, the tortillas looked handmade. The salsa was balanced and flavorful. Unfortunately, I had to spend my time fending off flies while I waited for my meal. The service was okay, but can be better. In my personal opinion, This place has the potential to be more, to be better, even great. The food is delicious, I want to come back, I want to recommend this place to others, but I won't till the "flies" are addressed. read more

I came upon this place thru a friendly recommendation last week. I ordered the Birria tacos.... Oooooh Myyy Goooodnesss! I enjoyed them and that consume soo much that I returned today and ordered three containers of the Birria consume to accompany a beef roast I made. Absolute FIRE!!! Let me tell if you read my last two reviews and haven't gone, you better go soon, also decide to try some Margaritas today, and let me tell you, it's dangerous you'll be drinking like a slushy and not realize the alcohol will hit you like a party bus. Run, don't walk to this place! It's a hidden gem and a hole in the wall that has some quality Mexican comfort food. I loved their Birria tacos and they recently started offering a Torta version and I am hooked! The bread was crispy so it didn't get too soggy when you dipped it in the consume. It was cheesy and full of meat, it was everything I ever wanted in a sandwich! The portions are good but I can't resist the potatoes so i have to get it whenever I'm there. It comes with the special sauce on top that gives it the right about of flavor and acidity. It's so good! The guac is always good while you're chomping down on chips as you wait for your food. Love this spot! Quesabirria tacos to go for this preggo lady please. The meat is so tender and just something about dipping these bad boys in a consomé makes it so much better. I believe these are only available on the weekends and I recommend tossing them in the air fryer when you get home so it can get that oh so yummy crunch. These are really meant to be consumed right when purchased but you know... COVID... got to take it home and eat. Also, their potato concoction with any meat you like is so simple but so hearty! Terrible service, terrible food. Invited my mom for a nice lunch, ordered a quesabirria torta and a 3 skirt steak taco dinner. The tacos hardly contained any meat and asked the waitress to exchange them for a quesabirria torta. I did not expect for it to be a big deal, especially since I did not touch or consume the meal. After, one of the male cashiers arrives at our table and blatantly and disrespectfully refuses to sell me the torta because in his words "this is how we make our tacos and if you don't like em you won't like our tortas" this is the worst service I have EVER experienced. Worst customer service by far. Took more than 20 minutes to come and just take our order. The server had to ask us if they had taken our order like really u had one table besides ours how do you not keep track of what tables you have taken their order. And to top it off I asked for a torta no onion! Full of onion but of course the servers were too busy up by the register just talking. Not a damn apology nothing she just laughed it off. Spent $50 on 2 taco dinners and 1 torta. Was told food would be ready in 10-15 min. I waited almost 30 min for my food. When I got my taco dinner, it was wrong and had guacamole on all three tacos, which I did not ask for. I asked him for 2 free cokes for my troubles and he said no. Then got an attitude about the guacamole on my tacos and wanted to remake it. I told him no at this point I just want my money back. My other taco dinner was SALTY Steak which was inedible. Went back to return that as well...guy had major attitude and told us not to come back and he would call the police. Only gave me $35 out of $50 that I spent. Zero stars. Great spot in the SW burbs for Mexican food. I sometimes struggle to find good Mexican food out in the burbs or find it super expensive. This place may be a bit more on the expensive side but their food is delicious. And their staff is always super friendly. I wont lie, when i see a chimichanga on the menu, i tend to steer away lol. But they had chiles rellenos (stuffed peppers) and tamales, both usually a good sign for more authentic. Not a 100% rule but their tamiles are actually really good, there is a bit of a homemade feel to it so it's definitely one to try. The carne asada is great, cant go wrong but they have a ton of options, more than the usual. One of reasons I love this place is their papas rellenas con carne asada (dish of diced soft potatoes with steak, it usually comes with cheese & sour cream). It can be a bit on the greasy side but it is absolutely delicious. The only negative note i need to add and didn't give it the 5th star is the issue with their delivery. I know it's usually through DoorDash or another service but the issue is the restaurant. Every time we've have ordered, the instructions are not followed. I don't know if they don't read the instructions or don't get them but the modifications I ask for are never followed. I've asked for no peppers on, or no cheese and they come in wrong. Even when I have paid for extra items to add, they're not followed. It gets annoying and only order for pickup for that reason. I hope they fix the issue soon. When we call in the order for pickup, we don't tend to have that issue but never when submitting the order through anything other than a phone call. read more

What stood out the most, was the owner who was helping out his waitresses with such a great attitude. We had a chimichanga that was extremely saucy (in a good way) Burria Ramen that had A LOT of birria they were not stingy with it at all! I do wish it was a bit more spicy, but also I love spicy food & not everyone does. Next thing was a torta that was a great size stuffed with plenty of meat. I wish I could leave ZERO stars. When I last went to El Valle all the waitress were wearing tank tops and did not wear any bras. Also all of them had long nails and their hair all over our food. I am a woman and I know what it looks like to have some respect for other people. Showed such disrespect to families and even mine. Maybe they should tidy up and get a uniform and learn to have a business. Other than that the food was terrible, we left the food that her hair touched and the other "clean" food was not good at all. Went to taqueria el Valle last night based off the recomendations from here. I can say it was well worth it and is my new go to place. I have been looking for a place for years thats closer to me instead of driving to el burrito Mexicano in lisle. I tried the quesabirria, which ive never had, and loved them! They came loaded with meat. I also got the loaded potatoe with steak. Its one of those late night Im drunk foods that somehow manages to also be fantastic sober. Have passed this place a ton and was always curious about it, decided to order pickup through GrubHub - saw that their specialty item was the Quesabirria plate and decided to get that and some Asada and Al Pastor tacos, chips and salsa and horchata as well! The Quesabirria were delicious and the consome was perfect! We received a variety of salsa sauces and they were all delicious. We have placed orders multiple times, and the can't seem to grasp the idea of writing on the foil what it is they are giving the customer, on tortas and tacos it might be ok, but burritos that are not marked is the worst they can do. Missing items when ordering even though they charge, and 25 minutes waiting time while ordering there. Undercooked meat and bad service overall, and still have the audacity to charge tip without advanced notice, I did not find out until they have charged me already. My food come to me cold and I had to send it back to the kitchen and my frozen margarita tasted rancid. When we questioned the manager about what kind of tequila the put in it's she said one of the best they have in their establishment, 1800. I asked the manager to please take the margarita off my bill as I took a few drinks out of it and she replied that at no place will the drink be taken off the bill. I am glad to say that she did take it off my bill. I thanks her and we left the restaurant. I can not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Tried this place for the fist time, had Al Pastor tacos, they were very good, tired the Birria Torta , the dipping sauce was great and so was the sandwich! Had a couple of margaritas, the Chamo Chamo was excellent. The waitress were awesome and very friendly. Glad there is a restaurant like this in our town. read more

This place really filled my expectations. I had the birria torta and it was honestly one of the best tasting birrias I've ever had.
