This will be a long entry just btw. I wrote a review of this place on Google. But didn't feel it was enough after readings all of the other reviews that listed the same things. Seeing those reviews made me realize how truly bad it was to be serviced there. Me personally got horribly bland food including two empty birria tacos I mean empty and a alright steak taco and alright salsa but they were a little off putting when taking my order. I speak a lot of Spanish and English and when I switched to any Spanish words she kinda laughed at me which I thought was rude. The lady at the front was giving side eyes to the customers that came in that weren't Hispanic. I just don't see a reason to go here again and hope that they improve in there costumer service and food quality cause there in a very good location to be must losing much business. read more

I've been here before was good, although today I walked in asked if I should sit as I've usually done here. The girl is just staring and says I can order at the register before I sit. I have to squint my eyes to look at their menu since she couldn't hand me a smaller one. I order, she charges me, and asked for here or to go. I had stated I would be sitting in the first place. I ordered the 3 taco dinner (lengua) and my boyfriend got a torta. I love the fact they have the horchata, Jamaica, and cocochata machine out for self serve. The service was extremely fast and food tasted delicious. The portions need to be a little more generous than what they serve. Worst Burrito I've ever eaten. Meat was chewy and fatty and flavorless. I took two bites and the meat was like chewing on rubber bands. I'm not a picky eater so I opened the burrito to try and pick out the bad meat and basically every piece was the same. I threw it away. Oh and I paid almost $14 for this privilege. Good Gods, what happened? The tamales are disgusting now. I ordered on a Friday in the evening through Grub Hub & got the driest, greasiest, most odd-tasting tamales I've ever eaten. I also ordered Tampiquena with this delivery order & the steak was not cut & it was delivered in a styrofoam container with no plastic cutlery. I had to move the entire meal on to a plate as to not potentially cut through the styrofoam. Part of the reason I like ordering delivery is that you can eat it out of the container & not dirty a dish -- but I had to as the steak was one huge piece. I will say the steak was flavourful & a generous portion but the cheese enchilada was VERY small compared to previous orders. The beans & rice were also not the same quality as I'd had there before. Both my husband & I have been less than impressed by this restaurant in the last 3 years. I don't know what happened to their kitchen staff, but there were more negatives than positives & that means I order from El Burrito Loco -- which has much better food & better pricing as well. read more

This is very basic Mexican food. Prices are high. Not a lot of flavor. We got a nice size burrito but nothing special about it. They had a steady flow of people but I doubt we will ever return. A friend (Richie) referred me to this place for killer burritos. Now with a name like "El Authentico Burrito" you burritos better taste fabulous. I ordered the Burrito Jr to be on the safe side because the menu on the wall indicated the Burrito Grande was BIG! The junior size was a good portion in itself. The carne asada (steak) filled the entire tortilla. Bursting with flavor, you can tell the steak was seasoned for a good while. I can honestly say this was the best burrito I ever had. Towards the end of my consumption I just wanted to eat the meat it was that darn good! I love the hot sauce, it was more like a cream/paste substance. Not runny more like icing on a cake. You get the green and orange squeeze bottles and I was putting that sauce on everything in site...chips and fries. Great job El Authentico...me gusta! read more

I work nearby this place and my coworkers and I order from here at least once a week. The place is clean and spacious and the food is always delicious. The have quite a few items on their menu that we order often. They also have daily specials on the menu in the restaurant but not on the takeout menu. (The reason for the 4 star review) The staff is friendly and everything is made fresh. I definitely recommend stopping in here. If you are ordering takeout, pre-order it! Waiting for it takes a little longer than I'd like. read more

Stopped in for a quick bite on Sunday morning .. Not familiar with the area. In town for a wedding.. Looked up "breakfast burritos" and POW we ended up at this little establishment .. Clean, nice and friendly service. They didn't have "breakfast burrito" on the menu but the cashier said they could definitely make them with any combination. I ordered a chorizo, egg and potato burrito, my boyfriend ordered a steak, egg and potatoes. SOOOOO GOOD... Big portion, along side chips and salsa. I love tacos, and tacos love me. This review is based on comparing and contrasting to different local Mexican restaurants like chipotle, Johnny tacos, el burrito loco and taco diner. Now I praise authentico burrito for there tacos and burritos and even their carne asada but I really love their horchata! There are very few places that make genuinely good horchata. But this place makes it really good! Tacos on the other hand are pretty amazing and the red/orange hot sauce that I am love with. I don't know what pepper they use and I know it's not chili pepper for sauce but it is so good!! Hotter than jalapeño but not as scorching hot as habanero. But it's a good burn, the burn your expecting when you eat a hot sauce cause isn't that the purpose? I eat their way to frequently! But the horchata calms me down as a necessity read more

I expected something better. Maybe quality has gone down since those last reviews were written..but this was definitely NOT the best burrito (or the best gorditas) I've ever had. The service was polite and the food came out quick. The burrito and gorditas technically looked perfect. PERFECT. I was sure this was going to knock out that Mexican burrito place on Maple. When we bit into our food, it wasn't that it was bad (it wasn't good), but we couldn't put our finger on what it was. Then it hit us: it's BLAND. Completely so. In the gorditas, there was not one flavor that you could detect. It was all plain, and the meat tasted like nothing. The burrito had the same issue, but the salsa helped a bit. The food is okay. The service could be better, there's definitely room for improvement in that area. I've ordered plain Torta on 3 occasions and all times they put the works on it. I was very specific (bread, meat, avocado, nothing else please). I called to let them know and the woman (owner or manager I presume) said the next one is in them and they apologize. Awesome, right? One of the more divier El Authentico Burritos while being a little tricky to find as the area is surrounded by a good number of stripmalls and storefronts. The lady there was nice enough to explain the differences among the huaraches, their specialty, since the menu had no description for each of the huaraches. Ordered a ranchero huarache and an al pastor burrito to go. The ranchero huarache ended up being a lot better than expected. It was a large thick soft tortilla, which seemed to be made on the premises, with chorizo, lettuce, cheese, beans, avocado, carrots, and pickles on top. The burrito was ok, I liked the equal distribution of vegetables & meat, and the crispy lettuce, but wished the meat was seasoned or something as it had no flavor. read more

We have lived in the area for more than 10 yrs and didn't realize this place existed. I could understand if some reviews stating the owner /cashier is a little rude. We get the same treatment and don't understand why. She just don't smile at at all. Let's get to the food instead.. All three times that we were there, I ordered care asada & tripa (crunchy) tacos and both times they came out tasty. I'd say tho that some pieces of tripa were a little chewy but I love them just the same. First was with lettuce and tomato and the rest of the times were cilantro onions and cheese. They are generous with the meat compared to other taco places. My spouse had the burritos previously which tasted OK so she said. She was not asked what else she wanted on it and she said there's quite a lot of lettuce on it. She said she'd prefer El burrito Loco when it comes to burritos but she'd prefer their tacos at any time. We ordered one root beer and water. Me and my spouse share everything so one root beer is enough for both of us with free refills. Their root beer is awesome event tho I have not heard of the brand, I didn't mind anyway. The best part is you get free chips and salsa and their guacamole sauce was great on the chips. It could have been 4 stars if the owner/ cashier would have been more friendly. My boyfriend and I went here on a Saturday night about 11pm. I ordered the steak nachos and he ordered a taco salad. I specifically said no tomatoes and yet they were on my nachos.
