This place has a really friendly staff, fast service and great food. No matter if you want burgers…read moreor Mexican food they are top drawer. All of the food is fresh, not pre-cooked. The enchiladas and burritos are always a good choice. The Chile Riano is my favorite. The burgers are fresh cooked hand made with fresh vegetables, and the french fries are just right. Being in potato country, they have to have good fries. You are always greeted with a warm, smile and welcoming atmosphere, small but, a great place to stop.

This morning I motorcycled over the Cascades, through meadows and forests on a Forest Service Road…read moreto Keno and then crossed the flat Klamath Basin on State Liine Road to Malin for lunch at Papa Tany's. It is located where the highway takes a hard right turn south to California in an old cement block building painted white with green and red trim--a tip that this is a Mexican-American restaurant. I opened for the American half and ordered the cheeseburger with crinkle-cut french fries. The meal came in the traditional red plastic basket. The large sandwich included pickles, lettuce & tomato. The bun didn't get soggy and overall the burger was very good. The fries were cooked nearly to perfection, golden but with a slight oily taste. The interior of Papa Tany's has tables and booths; on the walls are prints of Marilyn Monroe and other Hollywood legends of the 1950s. Outside are some picnic tables and paved parking.

Update 7/5/26: I was back in KFalls visiting family and we all went out to Girasol's for dinner…read more Once again, great service (thank you Jennifer) and the food was fresh and flavorful. I had forgotten how big and tasty their margaritas (5/5) were. I'm glad I ordered one. I ordered the carne asada (4/5) and my wife got the enchiladas verde (4/5). Their refried beans (5/5) and rice (4/5) that accompanied both our dishes were delicious. Portion sizes are very large so bring your appetite. While I've only been here twice, both experiences were consistent...good food, good margaritas, and great service. This would be my 'go to' Mexican food restaurant if I lived here.

Quality/Quantity - Food was 2-3 stars. Everything was…read moreover-salted, and I like salt... We got the Fajitas Gigante and chicken soup. Both of which were over-salted... The fajitas were of decent quantity. We actually had left overs for the next day dinner. Complimentary chips, salsa, and bean dip. Happy hour, but only 25¢ off of bottled beer?!?! No thanks; I am going to the Garage Tap room next! See my other review. Ambiance - Good size location. Main dining and bar area. Cool decor, see pictures. Clean restrooms. Service - 5 stars, from the door greeter to the waiters. They checked on us often. Price - $40 + generous tip. Overpriced for what we got. Well if it was NOT over-salted, then it would have been reasonable. Owner Comment - Congrats on all your success.

I've learned to not trust Yelp for business info, but then again, sometimes a business's website is…read morewrong too. We wanted to make reservations for dinner on a Thursday but no one answered the phone. We decided to head over to the restaurant a few minutes before we planned to dine with friends only to discover they weren't open and a hand lettered writing on the door said they were closed Thursdays and Sundays. We did return the next evening, now knowing that they would be open on Friday. The restaurant shares an entryway with a popular bar. It was amusing watching people enter the main door and then turn one way or the other to enter a business, only to realize they want the other door. I saw a few families with little kids start towards the bar and then turn to the restaurant. Groups in motorcycle jackets did the reverse. A signboard at the entrance to the restaurant invites customers to choose a table and then help themselves to chips and salsa. My husband and I split an entrée and it was more then enough for the both of us. Portion sizes are generous. The food was very good. Much better than Casa Ramos or Puerto Vallarta. If you want Mexican food in Mount Shasta, stay away from those chains and go to La Perla for a much better meal at reasonable prices to boot. We enjoyed the background music, with songs from the likes of Fleetwood Mac, Paul Simon, The Proclaimers.

The guac was okay it just tasted like avocado so we put a little bit of salt and lime. The carne asada tacos were cooked perfect! Our server was really nice and sweet. Had a great time!
