A signboard at the entrance to the restaurant invites customers to choose a table and then help themselves to chips and salsa. If you want Mexican food in Mount Shasta, stay away from those chains and go to La Perla for a much better meal at reasonable prices to boot. This place is a great restaurant and when I got there it was warm from the pellet stove. They let us sit where we want and they served us with respect and gratitude. If you were waiting they would make small talk. The food was outstanding. It wasn't dry or to small of a portion. They made homemade tortillas, drinks, and salsa. This place is truly amazing. The whole family even the 6 year old served us politely. They were bilingual. The owners 4 kids and 3 grandchildren were working. The grandchildren were great at speaking English and Spanish. The owners (grandparents ) were the chefs, waiters, parents,grandparents, city of dorris members, and business owners. There could not be a better family restaurant than this. The wait was ten minuted, during which I filled the gas tank for the trip home. The hotel shut down their eatery. So you just sit in the area with your own provisions.
