We were driving through town and needed to stop for dinner. This restaurant got good reviews so we decided to give it a try. So glad that we did! Excellent experience! My husband and I shared a combo platter and I requested no avocado but substitute extra sour cream, not only were they accommodating but the service at this restaurant is very friendly and makes every effort to make sure that their customers are satisfied with the service and the food came out hot and delicious and just as we had ordered. Portion size was really good and the flavor was on point. One of the employees said that they were at their new location for only 2 weeks and everything seem to be running very very smoothly and efficiently. Love to the decor and everything looked fresh and well decorated to make for a wonderful atmosphere. We had the combo plate which we selected a shredded beef chimichanga, chicken enchilada, refried beans, rice and I requested substitute extra sour cream for the guacamole. The warm chips, salsa and bean dip were a really good start to out meal. If you're in town or live in the area you really should give this place a try if you haven't already. 10/10 read more

I don't know what's going on here. This restaurant was great. I've ate here two times and was really disappointed in their food. Mexican food should have spices and flavor. The last 2 times the meals were really bland. No flavor or spices. Not what you would expect from a Mexican Resturant. Really boring. Not impressed. I'll think again before going back. read more

Great service and nice new restaurant across the street from the old one. Address is incorrect. The plate size is ginormous! They brought out my shrimp à la crema and it seemed enough to feed four!! All the plates are shareable, which makes it more affordable. Jorge was a great and attentive server. I would come back! read more

The place is super cute and the staff was nice. I loved the atmosphere. To be fair I did have to modify my dish to make it vegan friendly so it may be better if you order stuff on the menu they are used to making. My burrito had huge chunks of onion on and in it. I mean, I like onion but not that much. I would give it another shot in the future. read more

Tried this wonderful restaurant on the recommendation of the hotel clerk at our hotel & it did not disappoint! The place was easy to find. It was a smaller but very bright & cheery place. We were seated immediately and had chips, salsa & bean dip brought to our table. All were delicious. I ordered their smaller tamale (stuffed with picadillo) & my husband ordered their large combination plate with Chili relleno , beef enchilada, and shredded beef taco - he raved about all of them. His favorite dish is chili relleno & this was one of his favorites - very flavorful. My tamale was excellent - their red sauce is tasty, yet mild. We were even surprised to get a couple of sopapillas at the end of our meal. The servers were attentive & friendly even though the place was hopping. Obviously a gem in little Yreka. read more

Being from out of town we weren't sure what to expect, the restaurant was clean and the staff was very friendly! The food was great! I didn't know what I was getting into when I walked into the place. I was pleasantly surprised by the food as a tourist. Loved the place, their quick service and the amazing food. HUGE portions (easily can serve two with one combo plate), at very reasonable prices. Traditional Jalisco style Mexican fare: my wife ordered the "small" [!] combination pollo verde enchilada and chile rellano plate; I had their chile verde pork plate (on special @ $19.95. Both 14" platters came with mounds of rice and beans, and a small salad. The leftovers were both a hearty breakfast and lunch the next day. As others have commented, dishes tend to be rather bland/mild - kinda "gringo" style - but easy to spice up if wanted with Tamatio sauce or the excellent chipotle-flavored salsa provided with the extra crisp chips. The service was very friendly and efficient. The cafe is nice with very colorful booths, a small but complete bar and two TV screens. There's also a covered outdoor seating area for summer use and plenty of parking. (Note: their outdoor sign is NOT lighted, so can be a little difficult to spot after dark.) read more

They cook with soybean oil. We had Al pastor tacos which were good, and chicken flautas which was a lot of food! Everything was fresh, but a bit bland (even after adding salsa & tampico). The horchata tasted a bit chalky, almost like it is a powder mix. read more

We stopped here a little after 11am on Labor day. My wife was checking for places to eat and she said this place had great reviews. It is very easy off and on exit 776 on I-5. It was not very busy and we were seated immediately. They brought us chips and salsa and a bean dip and took our drink orders. The salsa is a thicker and chunkier type. Our orders were taken when they brought the drinks. I chose the chili verde and my wife chose the arroz con pollo. Our meals were delivered rather quickly and looked delicious. Everything tasted good as well. We each ate about half the meals and pack the rest up to go. The food was tasty, the service was really good and the prices are decent. The place is not fancy but it's clean. We were in and out in about 45 minutes, back on our way. read more

You can't fool this girl from Santa Barbara, CA where there's plenty of authentic Mexican food! We stopped in the town looking for food and I saw the restaurant in Yelp. I was thinking that it should be good! When we saw the restaurant I knew instantly that they are real deal because they have dining tables from Mexico. My husband ordered carne asada burrito. He said it's very good. Carne asada are well seasoned! I ordered two carne asada tacos and they come with avocado. That's a winner plus plenty of limes. We ordered our food to go! Well, we've been coming to this establishment for years. The staff are attentive and quick with requests. We were a party of 8 today for my mom's 91st bday. They sang for her and she got to wear the big sombrero. The problem was the food. My tostado tasted off. The lettuce and avocado seemed old and tasteless. My son's fajita plate was over done and tasted burnt. My husband's chili relleno was so tuff he could barely cut it with a knife. He ordered a beer which ended up being non alcoholic which would have worked but it was flat, and his shredded beef enchilada ended up being chicken. I was too embarrassed to ask what the other 5 thought of their food. Again the staff are great. But I'm not sure why the food has deteriorated. The restaurant in Mt Shasta is so disappointing we quit going. Hopefully they'll get it together. I hate to give up on our favorite restaurant in Yreka. $180, which I don't mind spending if we can brag about it later. 3 stars because the staff are excellent. Get a new cook??? read more

If I can give this place ZERO stars I would.!! I should've listened to all the reviews about this place.! When we got there, we were greeted by a lady who was nice enough to advise us to sit down as we looked at the menu. When we were ready to order, we were greeted by another server, who deserves this review. BECAUSE OF HIM, this place deserves a ZERO star review! We were in the middle of ORDERING OUR FOOD and he stopped us, told us to : "wait a minute" -- so he can deliver food to another table!? WTFFF.! We finished ordering : carne asada plate, two tacos and the albondigas soup. When we got back to our hotel, the first sniff of the ALBONDIGAS soup just didn't sit right with me. I called the restaurant to confirm the taste of the food. Phone call conversation: Me: hi, I just ordered the albondigas soup, did you guys add extra lime to it? Him: *THE SAME GUY WHO TOOK OUR ORDER AT THE RESTAURANT*... no, it is a tomato, pork meatball soup with vegetables. Me: okay, it's REALLY SOUR. The soup and the meatballs. The food is bad. Him: do you want a refund? Me: umm .. yes. Him: okay, bring the soup back. **he didn't even apologize over the phone about their mistake, he didn't offer to make another one, or offer if we'd like to order anything new- he automatically offered a refund.!! ** The inconvenience of this!! We brought the soup back and he had the refund ready. The money was sitting on the register counter. 1. He didn't acknowledge me as I walked in. 2. He DIDN'T apologize for THEIR food being SPOILED!!! 3. He literally SLIPPED me the money and that was that. No sorry, no acknowledgment, no remorse, NOTHING.! THIS RESTAURANT GAVE ME SPOILED FOOD and he had the AUDACITY to say: We need to respect him.??!! What the actual F*CK.?! Never coming back. Overpriced food. SPOILED FOOD!!! RUDE SERVICE AND sh*tty attitude. read more
