We were driving through town and needed to stop for dinner. This restaurant got good reviews so we decided to give it a try. So glad that we did! Excellent experience! My husband and I shared a combo platter and I requested no avocado but substitute extra sour cream, not only were they accommodating but the service at this restaurant is very friendly and makes every effort to make sure that their customers are satisfied with the service and the food came out hot and delicious and just as we had ordered. Portion size was really good and the flavor was on point. One of the employees said that they were at their new location for only 2 weeks and everything seem to be running very very smoothly and efficiently. Love to the decor and everything looked fresh and well decorated to make for a wonderful atmosphere. We had the combo plate which we selected a shredded beef chimichanga, chicken enchilada, refried beans, rice and I requested substitute extra sour cream for the guacamole. The warm chips, salsa and bean dip were a really good start to out meal. If you're in town or live in the area you really should give this place a try if you haven't already. 10/10 read more

We were seated immediately and had chips, salsa & bean dip brought to our table. All were delicious. I ordered their smaller tamale (stuffed with picadillo) & my husband ordered their large combination plate with Chili relleno , beef enchilada, and shredded beef taco - he raved about all of them. His favorite dish is chili relleno & this was one of his favorites - very flavorful. My tamale was excellent - their red sauce is tasty, yet mild. HUGE portions (easily can serve two with one combo plate), at very reasonable prices. Traditional Jalisco style Mexican fare: my wife ordered the "small" [!] combination pollo verde enchilada and chile rellano plate; I had their chile verde pork plate (on special @ $19.95. Both 14" platters came with mounds of rice and beans, and a small salad. The leftovers were both a hearty breakfast and lunch the next day. As others have commented, dishes tend to be rather bland/mild - kinda "gringo" style - but easy to spice up if wanted with Tamatio sauce or the excellent chipotle-flavored salsa provided with the extra crisp chips. The service was very friendly and efficient. The cafe is nice with very colorful booths, a small but complete bar and two TV screens. There's also a covered outdoor seating area for summer use and plenty of parking. (Note: their outdoor sign is NOT lighted, so can be a little difficult to spot after dark.) read more

We stopped here a little after 11am on Labor day. My wife was checking for places to eat and she said this place had great reviews. It is very easy off and on exit 776 on I-5. It was not very busy and we were seated immediately. They brought us chips and salsa and a bean dip and took our drink orders. The salsa is a thicker and chunkier type. Our orders were taken when they brought the drinks. I chose the chili verde and my wife chose the arroz con pollo. Our meals were delivered rather quickly and looked delicious. Everything tasted good as well. We each ate about half the meals and pack the rest up to go. The food was tasty, the service was really good and the prices are decent. Well, we've been coming to this establishment for years. The staff are attentive and quick with requests. We were a party of 8 today for my mom's 91st bday. They sang for her and she got to wear the big sombrero. The problem was the food. My tostado tasted off. The lettuce and avocado seemed old and tasteless. My son's fajita plate was over done and tasted burnt. My husband's chili relleno was so tuff he could barely cut it with a knife. He ordered a beer which ended up being non alcoholic which would have worked but it was flat, and his shredded beef enchilada ended up being chicken. I was too embarrassed to ask what the other 5 thought of their food. Again the staff are great. But I'm not sure why the food has deteriorated. The restaurant in Mt Shasta is so disappointing we quit going. Hopefully they'll get it together. We finished ordering : carne asada plate, two tacos and the albondigas soup. When we got back to our hotel, the first sniff of the ALBONDIGAS soup just didn't sit right with me. I called the restaurant to confirm the taste of the food. Phone call conversation: Me: hi, I just ordered the albondigas soup, did you guys add extra lime to it? Him: *THE SAME GUY WHO TOOK OUR ORDER AT THE RESTAURANT*... no, it is a tomato, pork meatball soup with vegetables. Me: okay, it's REALLY SOUR. The soup and the meatballs. The food is bad. Him: do you want a refund? Me: umm .. yes. Him: okay, bring the soup back. **he didn't even apologize over the phone about their mistake, he didn't offer to make another one, or offer if we'd like to order anything new- he automatically offered a refund.!! ** The inconvenience of this!! We brought the soup back and he had the refund ready. The money was sitting on the register counter. 1. He didn't acknowledge me as I walked in. 2. I absolutely love this place! The food is delicious and the plates are huge with large portions. You will definitely have leftovers! I went here with my family on the fourth of July and we were seated right away. All staff members were wearing masks and I felt the environment was clean. All the tables were spaced out and they are following COVID guidelines. Everything we ordered was perfect and they even offered us a free tequila bomb at the end of our meal and a delicious desert which was a pleasant surprise!
