Come for fast, good food. E got a burrito supreme and 3 tacos- beans on the side. Burrito was definitely large and stuffed full- very tasty. Very moist with plenty of balance of filling- not mostly rice CB or beans. Just right spicy...spicier than typical. Had 3 tacos- chicken, marinated pork and pork in green sauce. All were tasty and very homemade, and the marinated pork was the best! I had everything on it and I guess they use spicy sauce on top unless you request mild. They were a little to spicy for me- but still tasty!! (I'm used to different taco filling getting different toppings, but these all looked the same. This review is long overdue considering that I've lived in K Falls for months and eat here (at least) once a week. In a town with many great taquerias, Las Morenas really does stand above the rest. It's family owned so service is always friendly and prompt. The prices have stayed reasonable despite all the grocery inflation and somehow their portions are still the best bang for your buck! And then there's the quality and taste. Their meats are all delicious but particular favorites are the carne asada, lengua, and al pastor. They pack so much flavor in and I've never had a bite that was gristly or overcooked. Three tacos is a very sizeable meal, but make sure you also ask for pickled carrots and jalapeños. I usually finish the meal with one of their delicious cinnamon cookies that are reminiscent of bizcochitos. read more

She said the burritos would be ready in 5 minutes, which was way faster than we expected, but we were 9 minutes away. It was a quick and easy pick up, as we walked in and the burritos were ready, so we paid and left pretty quickly. The burritos were tasty! Even amounts of the goodies inside, and lots of good chicken pieces (my dog approved, too.) The salsa was JUST mild and flavorful enough not to ruin the burrito for me, but if it was any spicier my mouth would have been burninnnggg! I've been coming here for 20 years. It's always been my favorite. I don't live in Klamath anymore so I only eat here when I stop by for a visit. I ordered a Burrito supreme with Al pastor. Service was great and the food came out quick. I took it back to my motel and noticed the burrito was almost all rice. It was maybe a 1/3 of the meat that it normally is. I know times are tough and product is expensive but it was pretty disappointing. I will of course give them another chance and I hope this was just an abnormality. Found this place on a roadtrip. One night in KF and had a craving for Mexican. We had the 3-taco plate and Supreme Burrito. Both were excellent and really hit the spot after a long day off hiking. The place is a bit hidden off the main drag, but easy to find. If we were staying in KF for another night, we would be right back here. My daughter wanted to get out of there the minute we walked in but I thought I'd check the guys working in the kitchen before we do. Everything looked clean back there so stay we did. Cleaned a table and ordered a carne asada burrito supreme, a wet carne asada burrito supreme, a cheese quesadilla, a Jarrito tamarind soda and mango juice at the window. For all that we paid less than $20. The nice young man manning the window then calls you out once your order is ready. The burritos were huge! Both were hot, flavorful and really good but I preferred the dry burrito. No complaints about the quesadilla either. O...M...Goodies! So, our first choice of a taco shop was apparently closed today. We've been craving street tacos for the last 450 miles. We backtrack through town twice just to find this little joint that was highly recommended by fellow yelpers. Not in the best place in town but it probably has the best food in town! Service was incredibly incredibly friendly super fast even though it was busy. Ordered a carne asada tostada and three carne asada street tacos. Unfortunately they did not have any shrimp today. I have to say this was a diamond in the rough. Whenever we come into a new town we always go straight to the hotel and then we decide to walk to find food I'm really glad we did not this time. I think it took us an extra 40 minutes just to get to the hotel LOL Anyway, if this owner can put this restaurant in every city people would be extremely happy every single day :-) read more

This place is out in the middle of no where! Drove from Bend, OR to the Bay Area and it was lunch time in Kalamath. Looked on Yelp for places to eat and this pulled up. So we weaved our way through the neighborhoods to this place. From a mexican food perspective, the menu lacked diversity, but over all it was good. I think that the rice and refried beans take the top spot for tasty. I got three tacos and they were decent at a reasonable price. There was a lot of traffic coming in and out of the store. Omg! So good!! I just moved to OR from Southern California. I have been to a few taco shops in town and let me tell you - nothing compares to this spot! Clean, fast and fresh! I ordered the taco plate. Every kind of meat I ordered was really moist, full of flavor and delicious. The toppings were great. Make sure to add pickled carrots and jalapeños! Hurts me to do this low rating because I was excited to try it. But I just can't. Sticky chairs, floors and walls with dusty fans and several flies wasn't exactly what I was expecting. Don't get me wrong, I love whole in the walls restaurants, the more authentic the better. But filthy is not the same as authentic. Now to the good...I'd be willing to do a 3 star if the food was amazing but the truth is, it wasn't. My sopes were too crunchy, hard to eat, stuffed with dry carne azada meat - very little flavor. Torta Suprema was pretty good. Kids burritos were giant. On the positive side at least the person cooking the food wasn't handling the money, the service was friendly. read more

We stopped by on our way down to cali. Burritos were good and meat was plentiful. We also had their torta, full of a flavor but a little bit greasy. The tostada de camaron however was bland and needed more flavor however I will note the shrimp was fresh. Good, quick and cheap. read more

What a STUNNING discovery. Let me preface this review with a declaration that I live 10 minutes away from Watsonville California. We have more Mexican restaurants per capita than 99% of most cities in the United States. As a result....I'm a huge good snob when it comes to authentic Mexican food. And if you think Taco Bell or Chevy's is real Mexican food....please come to this place and get an education of what the real deal is. I YELPED for a Mexican place while in Klamath Falls and this place popped up. Yes, it is not an impressive place. Yes...I did activate the alarm on my car when I walked to the restaurant. But folks....after dinner I would not have cared if someone stole my car while I was eating....because while I waited for the police I could have had something else! I told the young lady at the counter that I had come to the restaurant based on the YELP Yreviews. Blank stare! No one working there had ever heard of YELP and were shocked to see how popular they were. I read all 11 reviews up at the time and they were all pleased to see they were well liked. I nearly wept when my three tacos came out...I did weep when I finished them. I wept because they were the best tacos I've ever had in my 56 years on this planet. I wept because I did not order 5. My wife had two tacos and then ordered the chicken enchiladas to have later when we got to our rental cabin on the lake. My son had a carnitas burrito which he claimed was the best carnitas he has EVER had. Prompt service, cheap eats, freshly prepared, and some of the best Mexican food you could hope to ever have. The fact it was in Klamath Falls, Oregon is so shocking it makes me smile to think of it. Go here, eat here, and spread the word. If you leave here and don't rave about the food....get yourself to a doctor and have your head examined. Or slink back to Taco Bell and save the good Mexican food for people who deserve it. Simply the best! We are Californians, vacationing in South Oregon and Klamath Falls was our home base. It was so good, we ate here 4 times in 6 days! All the meats are good, especially the al pastor and tripa. It was unbelievable and unexpected find, now we are back home in NorCal and constantly comparing the local taquerias to this one. I first tried this place in 2002 simply because of the extreme jank-factor, and six years later, it's still the best burrito I've had north of Chico, CA. They've really fixed the place up quite a bit. No more picnic tables inside! They painted over what looked like puke on the walls. Good call on not doing that dreadful de rigeur salmon-colored sponge-paint thing that every Mexican place has! They got rid of that old grab 'n go fridge unit and expanded the pass-through area, so now it's more welcoming and immediately clear where and how to place your order. I especially recommend the al pastor. Nearly every taqueria in Oregon has al pastor that tastes like the kinda BBQ sauce you get from a megalocorporate fast food place, but Las Morenas' al pastor has just a hint of sweet, but a much bolder spicy flavor. At the risk of talkin' like some kinda wine snob, I dare say it's even gotta fair amount of complexity! I know that if I ever lived in K-Falls, I'd make Las Morenas a weekly ritual. read more

Looks like I've fallen in love all over again - in Klamath Falls! While on a junket in central Oregon, and just as we caught sight of the distant majesty of Mt Shasta, my fellow compatriots and I felt the pangs of hunger any wayward traveler knows while in unfamiliar territory. One wonders how in the time before cellular technology, wanderers like us would find the courage to step into unknown towns to gather sustenance for the hard road ahead. As for us - we have Yelp, and we are thankful. While headed southward down the west coast, we are always sizing up taquerias along the way, but we usually don't start until we cross into the Golden State. Thankfully, our trip down US-97 South put us in just the right place BEFORE the border. Las Morenas Taqueria is certainly at the top of the pack for a good reason on this fine website. Using the word "authentic" to describe any restaurant is, in the opinion of this reviewer, a bit lazy on the eater's part. But my understanding is that this term applies to the overwhelming feeling of confidence any eater feels when he or she is certain that the food they are eating has changed all future expectations they have when ordering that food. A new standard is set, and a once shadowy part of the world has been ever so slightly pulled away, and made a little lighter. What a mouthful! Let's get to business. The menu here has photos of the food presentations that are all certainly tempting. I ordered the number three - an enchilada and taco with beans, rice, and pickled vegetables. My meat of choice? Al pastor. Yes, this meal was fatty. Yes, it is just what I wanted. Spices were perfectly balanced, with a hint of sweetness in the background. Great crisp texture at the ends of the enchilada, and the taco tastes perfect with a squeeze of lime. This is the stuff that makes you feel happy you're alive, friends. Also, I must say that it is clear that the beans and rice are made with pure love, which has always been my favorite secret ingredient. My darling wife and our traveling companion Chris both took on their own Supreme Burritos - carnitas and asada, respectively. Because she is my partner in curiosity when it comes to good food, she allowed me to trade a small helping of her dinner for mine. All I can say is this: my single bite of that carnitas burrito was like a planet unto itself with its own apparent laws of physics, where something could be 100 percent crispy, and 100 percent juicy. I will definitely take the opportunity to order this next time we are in KF. All you southern central Oregonians have it good, as long as this little restaurant is around to set the bar.
