First time last night and it just so happened to be their 1 year anniversary. The food was so yummy! We had the pistachio spicy poke and the mushroom cheese bread. There were 34 draft beers and my friend and I both had the sampler. The pineapple beer was amazing. Place didn't start getting crowded until about 8. I would definitely like to go back and take my husband for some great drinks and pupu. Awesome location too! We need more places like this on the leeward side. read more

Understaffed for a Friday night. A sign that asks you to seat yourself is cool and totally awesome but after waiting nearly 15 minutes before walking out because nobody bothered to ask us if we wanted a menu, hiring some more personnel to cover the client influx in the midst of a busy weekend is in order. read more

We have been here twice now, with the most recent last night. Both times the food and drink service was extremely slow, even having to ask multiple times for our order. Okay so me and my friend decided to have dinner here, because we wanted to check it out. But unfortunately we didn't have a the greatest experience...actually almost no experience but the food. It is a seat your self bar "restaurant" and we gladly sat our self down wait staff took our order..as we ate our food the manager come out and says that we needed to leave because I was under 21 and past the age limit time...we didn't see the sign out side because it was printed so tiny that you needed glasses to see! And staff that took our order failed to ask for our age...we walked out with takeout containers and ate in the car..food was decent wished we enjoyed it better. read more

got the simplest thing on their brunch menu pancakes and eggs, didn't get my food for 45 minutes yet my friends had already finished their food. finally just asked for it to go, it took another ten minutes to accomplish that and in the mean time there were zero apologies and the food was unimpressive. By far my favorite bar to drink at. I'm there all the time for that post golf round couple of brews or that late night "don't wanna drive out of Mililani" mood. Awesome staff of waiters and bar hands. This is more of a place for the craft brew enthusiast but they also have selections of the "usual" beers and hard liquor. The food can be a little pricey but I think it's well worth it. Haven't tried the entire menu you but so far my favorites have been the pizza and the steak. Trivia nights on Tuesday are always a good idea for that once a week drinking crew trying to mix it up a little in some friendly competition. A must for anyone in Central Oahu. read more

So I went there the other night with my husband and for $81.oo we got 3 beers total and ordered food to go which was nachos, one cheeseburger,and one fried chicken sandwich. I was thoroughly irritated that they forgot my nachos and we live far away so I was not going to drive back and by the way we miss the old food menu. Came here some time last year for dinner, and because of our unfortunate experience with the waitress, I will never come back. I don't remember the young lady's name, but she was haole with medium length brown hair. She was a decent server. Brought the food in a timely matter, friendly enough, and refilled water at least once. Me and a friend came for pupus one night and we really enjoyed the food. Ordered the pupu steak and veggie pizza. Loved the food a lot, but it was after the meal that made me never want to come back. We decided to split our check, so I paid the dinner with my credit card, and friend gave me cash for her half of the bill. Of course when we leave a cash tip for servers, I will write 0 on the tip part of the receipt when you sign it. So as we were leaving, our server ran up to us and said with an angry voice "wow, zero on tip. That's really nice!" And walked away. At first we were confused, not understanding what just happened. So I walked back to our table to see if we had left her a cash tip. Looks like we forgot to leave it on the table. So out of courtesy I walked back up to her to give her the cash tip, and left. My friend and I were pretty upset with the lady's poor attitude. How DARE she talks to us like that. And I'm sorry, we leave tips for all of our servers, no matter how good or bad they're. But we didn't appreciate how she approached us with a bad attitude. And no offense, but even if we decided to not leave a tip, it is not required for us to do that. That is why it is called gratuity. This is why I will not come here ever again. I just wish I could remember her name. I regret not speaking to the manager after that situation, but that's okay. I just won't go back. I would leave only 1 star, but because we enjoyed the food, I give my review an extra star. read more

I liked coming here until I had the rudest waiter ever tonight. He was a dude (I usually have the female waiters and they're fantastic) and I've never been treated with so much disrespect. This past Friday evening I went to Taps & Apps-Mililani Mauka brewpub with a family member and I found seats outside with no umbrella (This brewpub is open seating only, no reservations and no one seating customers). I ordered some drinks and appetizers from server Courtney. Once it started to rain quite a bit, I decided that I would rather be inside the establishment than outside in the rain like an idiot. I looked around inside for a couple seats and was able to secure a table for me and my family member. After I secured the table inside, server Julia (White girl with colored cross tattoo on neck) told me that I had to move since she wanted to move seat a couple at the table I secured. I told Julia that I did not know there were reservations for the table I secured and that I wanted to speak to her manager about the seating arrangement. Needless to say, Julia was not happy because she knew I was right and that since it was open seating, I had every right to be at the seat I secured. As a result of this situation, Julia served everyone in my area except my party and my party was assigned to server Jordan (short Filipino guy with earrings). Like Julia, Jordan was less than professional and Jordan even told me that I should not have left the outside patio because it was raining. I placed another order of drinks with Jordan. Around the same time Jordan brought my drinks to me, Courtney came by with the order I placed earlier when I was outside on the patio. I apologized to Courtney and explained that I did not want to be outside if the rain continued to pour on us. Courtney said that she definitely understood and that I was right in securing my seat inside since it was open seating. Courtney was professional and she is probably the shining star at this brewpub that is making the customer experience awesome. At the same time I received my order from a helper via Courtney, I told the helper that I hope they did not spit in my food. When I received the drinks from a helper via Courtney, Jordan was annoyed. I told Jordan the situation with wanting to sit inside instead of outside in the rain (with no umbrella). Jordan responded that there are people in the patio in the rain and that I should have sat in the rain too. I was outraged but I had more restraint that night. I probably let it go since I was enjoying some quality time with my family member but I knew if I engaged Jordan, I would not have any quality time with my family member. Subsequently, Jordan informed me that he needed to close out my tab since it was the end of his shift. I eventually closed out my tab with Jordan. Since that time, there was no assigned server to me, especially since Julia did not want to serve our party. Because my party had no server checking on us at all, especially with empty beer glasses, I eventually ordered from bartender Tianna. Tianna was reluctant, indicating that my server should be helping me. I told Tianna that I did not know who my server was. Tianna took my drink order. After my party finished that round of drinks, I again had no server responding to us at all. I went to the bartender Tianna again and at that moment, server Julia asked me if I needed anything, even though she ignored my party the whole night while we were in her area. I told Julia that I thought she was mad at me and reluctantly placed an order with her. Julia's mood lightened probably because she knew that her manager would be mad at her for alienating a paying customer. After I closed out my order with Julia, I was happy to leave this brewpub. I think this place needs to have a host for assigned seating, more seating inside and outside, all outside seating should have umbrellas, among a number of things. Most of all, the servers need to be properly trained or let go--servers and bartenders make money with tips. The servers need to concentrate on delivering a better customer experience because that is how they make more money, bring back customers, bring in new customers and elevate the profitability of the brewpub as a whole. Based on my experience, I would not come back to this brewpub, I would not recommend this brewpub to anyone and it will surely fail as a result of the problems I mentioned if left status quo. read more

should have just called this place "Taps" because the food is way over priced for the amount your getting. Good drink selection with alright prices but the poor service over shadows the experence. My party had to keep reminding our server about our orders. It took over 20 minutes for our basket of fries to arrive and about 10 min for drink refills to come back to the table. I've worked in the restaurant industry and it's was no way near as busy as the servers were making it out to be. I'm only giving 2 stars because I found my new favorite drink here and I'll be making it at home at a fraction of the price. I do not recommend. read more

Let me start off by saying this place would've got less than 1 star if there was an option. EVERYTHING about this place was absolutely HORRIBLE!!!!! Let's start with the slow service. Waitress was super nice and sweet but was slower than a turtle. It wasn't busy enough for her to be moving that slow. She's in the wrong business. Our food came out before our drinks. Not to mention they were out of oysters. How does that happen? Also, when my cousin ordered a shot of crown the shot class was so dirty. It looked like it had cream mixed with the shot. How can you not tell the class was dirty before serving it? It was pretty disgusting. I ordered a Moscow Mule and it didn't even come in a copper cup like it should. The menu was slightly overpriced in my opinion. I would never ever go back there. Better option: the shack. Or maybe when the Wing Stop next door. T&A's beer selection s excellent, they even have 2 German Hefeweizen, Franziskaner and Paulaner, two of the best there is if you like a creamy wheat beer. We had TA burger, the pupu steak, and the flatbread with 3 meats, everything was delicious. Service at the bar was very good. The reason I am not giving 5 stars is because the noise level of the tv was terribly high (we asked if it could be turnned down just a tiny bit and they did, but just a very tiny bit, it made it hard to have a conversation so eveybody in the bar was screaming, which raised the noise level even higher. It was ice cold inside, you might want to bring a jacket! Also I find the prices a little high for the food. read more

Went here last night for their Halloween costume contest (which was rigged). Had a good time, decent atmosphere and Very Nice waitstaff. The food is just OK, I suggest the pizza if you do go. So why did I give it a 2? Back to the rigged Halloween contest. 1st place- Someone wearing a fake ghoul outfit 2nd place- A dude wearing a Dog outfit (Wilfred) 3rd place- An impressive Chuckie look alike Didn't place- An Impressive Chuckies Bride In my opinion Halloween costume contests are about people who spend the time and do a great job dressing up, not people who just buy/rent a dog outfit or a manakin ghoul you just put on top of yourself. Not to mention I heard how 1st and 2nd place were friends of the owner and all the judges actually voted for the chuckie and bride. Unfortunately this left an extremely bad taste in my mouth, with all the listed above I really dont see a reason to go back. DON'T GO HERE! I found a strand of hair in my beer which obviously belonged to the bartender since she has long hair and I am a man with a shaved head. She refused to refund my money and make me another drink insisting that it was not her hair. She was the only bartender and there was no one else at the bar. She is extremely rude and upon asking for the manager, she claimed to be the manager. Who would allow such a rude lady to manage his/her bar? My only guess is that the bar owner must be just as rude or incredibly stupid! I give this place a maximum of 2 years before they get shut down. Terrible place. Elevate your expectations is all I can say. Not your typical bar food. The burgers and soups are sensational, and are a hearty portion as well. They have a decent selection of both craft and generally served beers on tap. I visited Tapps & Apps on recommendation from a friend we met whilst in Hawaii for a vacation. We were staying in Kailua so had to travel around 45 minutes to get there; but the evening we had was well worth the journey! The beer menu is fantastic - we tried quite a selection of the ales and a number of the taptails - we don't really do beer cocktails in England, so this was really interesting! We shared a number of food dishes and loved all of them; the crab & avocado was a highlight and the sweet potato fries were the best we tried the whole holiday! The selection was very varied and reasonably priced for the quality on offer. Our visit happened to be on the third Open Mic night at Taps & Apps and we were so glad. The atmosphere was fantastically supportive and the talent on show was even better; we felt very lucky to see some of the acts who performed! This night can surely only go from strength to strength. The staff are incredibly friendly - (I actually befriended our servers on Facebook before leaving!) and it was such a pleasure to meet the ownersWe chatted, sang, danced and laughed for the entire evening thanks to Marilyn! Seat yourself at the bar, tables, or out on the patio. Live music on Saturday provided a good atmosphere and the TVs allowed sports viewing. The selection of beers was good (~30 on tap), service was fairly quick, and the couple of dishes we had were excellent. If I could give zero stars I would. We went in for brunch, a party of 6. We couldnt sit inside because the kitchen manager was playing on his computer at the only table we could have sat at. It was really windy outside. I ordered the Cali Benni and a Bloody Mary. I waited 20 mins for the drink and the waitress (Jenna) finally brought it out. But it was made with tequila! So another 5 mins later I got the right drink. Then she brought out my Benni but no one else's food. No one else got any food for quiet a while. The Benni was cold, the eggs were hard and the hollandaise sauce tasted like gravy. She also brought out hash browns which I thought just came with it. But it turns out it didnt and I got charged for them when I didn't order them. The other people at our table didn't get what they ordered either. It was terrible. Everyone's food was cold. I would not recommend going to this place at all! read more
