I really have tried to like the place..... I've been here three times before I wrote this review. The first time was a solid 4 star experience. The second time, the manager was so rude to us regarding our legal, registered service dog, we ended up leaving. We waited 6 months to go back and try again thinking maybe he was just having a bad day.
Today, we came with a group of 6. It was very windy and as soon as we arrived, the waitress, Jenna, kindly warned us that we should consider eating indoors because there are branches getting blown off the trees and the lanai is littered with them. We stood there and looked around at the many open tables inside. None were set up for 6 except for one in the corner. All the rest are 4 tops. We discussed maybe moving a few together as there was one man sitting at the only table inside that was for 6 people. The man had a Taps and Apps shirt on and was working on his computer. I assumed he was some sort of manager but why he was hogging the one and only 6 top table to do management work on his computer when we were clearly standing there 15 feet away from him discussing where to sit. He never offered to get up for us, so we decided to try our luck on the outside lanai. As we walked past him to go outside, he made it a point to pull Jenna aside and tell her to check our dog's credentials. It was obvious to us he did not trust us. Since I had a previous negative experience here, I actually already had my dog's ID card in my hand and immediately showed it to her. She thanked me and we all sat down. about 5-7 minutes later, a couple came out and sat at another table. We ordered very quickly with Jenna as she was nice and prompt. Our drinks took a while to come out and when they did, one was wrong. No biggie, Jenna came out and asked my friend to try the drink as she suspected it was made incorrectly. She took it back and 20 minutes later, another drink came out. In the mean time, the other couple who came in after us had their drinks and meals served before any of us. We weren't in a hurry so we just chilled and enjoyed each other's company. Eventually, one breakfast came out. It was eggs Benedict. hash browns were also served with it. My friend assumed hash browns came with an egg dish, but apparently, they are a $3 extra side order (that she did not order). Jenna apologized and said the kitchen was a little out of order and that the rest of our meals would come one at a time. We said no problem.... we weren't in a hurry. Soon after 2 other meals came out. By now we had been there about 45 minutes. All 3 meals were barely warm. Everyone was so hungry they started eating, not realizing at first that one of the meals that came out was not the dish another friend had ordered. A little while later, the vegetarian omlete my husband ordered came out. He took one bite and found the omelet littered with sausage! The potatoes were cold and still my one friend had not received his meal. We brought the meat omelet to Jenna's attention and everything else (cold meals, later customer getting food ahead of ours, and that the person who she confirmed was the kitchen manager playing on his computer at the only 6 top table was a manager and that he told her (quite obviously) to check our dog's ID. She offered for him to come to us to discuss the meals. He did. We again explained everything. Then they overcharged us (or tried to!) and even kept the incorrect meal on the bill. We paid for everything but the incorrect meal and the manager again came out to talk with us. He said "I understand you don't want to visit us anymore". I said no I never said that, but that we really are trying to like this place. He interrupted me and said "that's fine! We support your deciscion to not come back here and I hope you find something good to eat elsewhere." Wow! Never again will I come here. I have never written a negative review but this place certainly deserves ZERO STARS. read more
