It seems to feature the same drinks as Bar Mezzo in St. Pete, so I'm guessing it's part of a seasonal pop-up they do. The vibes at Bar Mezzo felt better for Christmas. This spot felt kind of divey, but the prices were definitely not. The service was slow and our server forgot about us for a while, even though the place was pretty packed. We weren't in the bar, we were in the restaurant part because we saw baseball on the big screen and wanted to watch baseball. About halfway through our meal the baseball was switched off for an English football game. Note, my daughter and I were the ONLY ones there eating and watching the game until a man came in to watch soccer. No one asked us if we were watching. Yes I realize it's a British pub but we were watching the game. Not sure why one guy can't sit in the bar area, or at least ask us if it's ok to change the channel. Disappointing. Kind of ruined our experience.

This time I was in here for the shepherd's pie. From being here before, I'd seen someone else order it and noticed it comes in a mini cast iron; he serving option alone is already promising. The shepherd's pie is absolutely delicious, no notes. The mash on top was broiled with just enough crisp, so smooth and creamy underneath. The ground meat below was cooked hot with smoke, and every bite was hearty and rich, with noticeable touches of herb. I don't like peas, so the shepherd's pie here coming with carrots instead makes it even better for me, and the crispy shallots on top give an occasional crunch. So far I've tried three dishes here, and I've been happy with all of them. These dishes are the kind I'd come back for, but this really solidifies the impression that most, if not all, of the menu would be worth trying. Pair that with the friendly, attentive staff and the relaxing atmosphere, and this is for sure a top pick.

The menus were kind of old and a little soiled so if the food is good here I will never know because I wouldn't touch the menus. Sat at the bar and asked for the name of a beer they had on tap. Surprisingly good option for English-style and inspired pub food…read more Crisps: Definitely don't taste like chips, which is the whole point. They are truly crispy flakes of potatoes, thinly sliced but still pack a crunch. The Underground: The chicken does a really good job of retaining a grilled flavor instead of just being grilled by definition or a reheated patty of grilled chicken. The Swiss cheese slice and brioche bun provide a bit of sweetness to balance out the right amount of bitterness from he pickle and avocado lime ranch. For it to essentially be a grilled chicken sandwich, it's impressive. Sesame Seared Ahi Tuna: Wonderful texture without much of a fish flavor at all. This dish lets the umami flavor profile shine Firecracker shrimp: Probably the most average thing they serve. Similar to what you can get elsewhere. The location is a great place to grab a bite before heading to an event at the arena, or if you're in downtown and want a fun way to experience lunch (or dinner). The golf bay itself is a bit on the pricier side, but a neat experience with multiple different sports available.

The veal was incredibly tender, and the gravy was packed with flavor. It was a satisfying entrée that came with two sides. For my sides, I chose the pierogies and spätzle. The pierogies were honestly my favorite part of the meal. They were fluffy, cheesy, and generously filled. So delicious. I could have eaten a whole plate of just those. The spätzle was soft and well prepared, but compared to everything else, I found it a little boring. The restaurant itself is very cute and has a lot of character. I loved browsing the selection of German snacks, candy, and other imported items available for purchase. It added to the overall experience and made the place feel unique. While I'm not that familiar with German food, I thought this was a pretty good restaurant. Overall, I found German cuisine a little more muted than what I'm personally used to, but I still really enjoyed the meal and the experience. I'd be interested in trying more of the menu.
