Flew in from Seattle to Tampa for a cruise. This place was across the street from our hotel and still serving food at nearly 11pm. Little did we know that the decor is dedicated to the Seattle Seahawks. My husband as wearing his "Superbowl LX" baseball cap, and when we walked in folks cheered and we were treated like family. I ordered the cheeseburger sliders and zucchini fries, hubby had Shepherd's Pie. Delish! Do youself a favor, and come here the night before you embark on your cruise. We are regulars at the Maloney's (soon to change names) in Westchase but come to this one when there are events downtown. The food during events is not great, but the normal food is pretty good. The service is a bit of a gamble. Our last waitress was awesome as was the one before but several of the others are fairly rude, are filled with anxiety when crowded, and not very good at the waitress part of service. The atmosphere is usually pretty fun but the more crowded the less they care about customer "happiness". They may need a smaller limit during big events. All In all, it's a fun bar, with a decent atmosphere. read more

Right here is downtown Tampa. We went there for a Reuben sandwich and a couple of green beers. The sandwich was very good. It could have use a little more thousand island sauce, but good. The fries were a bit better. I don't eat a lot of them but I sure like good fries. The beers? Well they were green and perfect for St Patty's day. The bartender was spot on for a busy Irish bar and grill. He was tall and could see everybody. Nice to be noticed right away when you walk into a crowed bar. The ambiance was perfect. First time here, and was impressed for the most part. maloney's is within walking distance of my work offices and thought it would be a good time to try it out. Old style Irish pub, decorated in Irish theme with TVs everywhere. Decent in door and out door seating area. Menu is a little small but can be forgiven with the alcohol option they offer. I went with a prime dip sandwich. Overall I was satisfied with the flavor and portion of the plate. Side of fries went well with it. Service was good, went during lunch so it wasn't too busy yet. It was with in walking distance from the hotel we were staying at. But all and all it wasn't a bad choice. They were not crazy busy, our server was good and funny, and the people around us were very nice, even though I was wearing a Florida Panthers t-shirt. We started out with an order of pretzel bites. First they came out nice and hot. The cheese sauce was good too, it wasn't watery beer cheese. I had too fight my daughter for them she was gobbling them down. I'm not a big beer drinker these days but I noticed they had a nice selection of beers on draft. We did order some food, my daughter had a grilled chicken with macaroni and cheese as a side. I know she was either very hungry or she really liked it. My wife, had a smash burger with a side of fries. She said the burger wasn't smashed very well but it was definitely very good. Oh the fries could have been hotter. She only was able to eat half the burger, I was supposed to have the other half except it was full from what I had. I had ten chicken wings with hot honey sauce. The size! They were very large sized wings. They were cooked perfectly and even though the hot honey sauce lost some of it's heat, it tasted yummy! A little slow considering they weren't very busy. The homeless guy that peed in the bushes nearby was a deterrent, but we thought prices were fair and food was tasty. I popped in here to kill some time while waiting on a train and it was a great stop. Jessica immediately came over and rattled off all the specials and took my order. If you're an Ohio State or Tampa Bucs fan, this probably is your ideal bar. It had the ambiance of a fun sports bar meets Irish and bar food. The food pricing is also pretty fair as well. I ordered a small order of wings and they were prepared fresh and quickly. I had Cajun rub mixed with mild and the mild didn't really have enough kick for me. While visiting Tampa I was staying less than 500 feet from Maloney's Irish Pub so it was the first place I visited for drinks and dinner. In addition to a full bar they have a very decent selection and variety of beers; including my favorite Smithwick's. The bartender was excellent keeping my drink filled and carrying on lively conversation with myself and the other patrons. When it comes to the food I didn't really see any traditional Irish dishes on the menu that I like to see in an Irish pub, like a traditional Irish breakfast. I did have a Reuben sandwich which was one of the best I've had; so I can forgive them for this. The next day I went back and found out quickly that Maloney's was an Ohio State bar. The place was packed with buckeyes partying down and celebrating OSU's win. read more

Great spot for Football Sunday! We ordered the zucchini fries as a trio and each of us got wings. I got 5 dry rub, a mix of flats + drumsticks and loved them. They weren't super greasy and I enjoyed the seasoning. I tried my friends fries and thought they were fine. I didn't like the zucchini fries, but I don't love most fried food anyways. If you are staying near the cruise port you really should visit Maloney's Irish Pub. Yes, it is loud but the food is excellent and the beer is cold. Jacqueline, one of the bartenders was so sweet and gave us excellent service. On football days expect yelling fans and a lot of laughter. A lot had changed for us at Maloneys mostly the portions and taste of some of there food items. We had a party of kids and 4 adults So the first thing we usually do is take care of the kids with grilled cheesesand with that out the way the adult ordered wings or appetizers I personally got the cauliflower which to my shock it only came with 5 medium small pieces which for $8 for 5 pieces is pricey! We also got the zucchini fries which actually came with a bunch but also some burnt up fried pickles got into the mix not just with the zucchini but with also the 2 orders of boneless wings we found 7 burnt fried pickle overall in our food. To me it wasn't a big deal I understand it happens but my husband hates pickles and very sensitive to them. The kids grilled cheeses... burnt and also had a garlic flavoring on them for not sure what reason, it doesn't say it on the menu that it's garlic bread it's usually just buttered so neither sandwich was eaten. Honestly this was the worst visit by far which hurt because their food is usually great! I love the wings and burger and cauliflower but I'm not sure if owners have changed or if they have new people working but this took a toll on if I would come back. read more

This was my first spot for a bite on this trip to the 813, as it was closest to my hotel after coming back from the business part of my travel. (Side note: you know that part in my profile about "castles in the sky" meaning in the construction industry so that means I wasn't the most GQ or in sports bar haute couture) My waitress was pleasant and attentive, and didn't require much effort to get me to enjoy another Smithwick's Red Ale especially after being non-stop for 10 hours prior. The smooth malt flavor & subtle sweetness of the beer was enough to recharge me, and balance the heat from my order of 5 wings and buffalo chicken sandwich. Thick cut fries & sweet BBQ sauce balanced my meal. Calories don't count on a Friday, and besides I was at a jobsite. Their black & tan sundae helped me to rehydrate and satisfy my sweet tooth. I've been a customer for four years now, and I am sickened by their cost cutting measures as of late. They are obviously cutting their boneless wings in half, and to call these "20 wings" (pictured below) is an insult to my intelligence, and wallet. I have noticed this happening over the last few months and chalked it up to bad luck or fluke incidents, but it is clear now that they are deliberately making their portions tiny to save costs. I understand times are hard right now and businesses must be prudent, but just raise the price instead of deceiving your customers. I met a few friends here for drinks after work on a Friday. It was a bit tricky to find, although I'll admit I'm directionally challenged, but fortunately my friend hunted me down and showed me the way. Our first server was brusque, apparently because she was just about to get off work. Our second server was much friendlier and very efficient. We all had happy hour drinks, which were only $4 for well brands and $5 for call brands. I was disappointed they didn't have any 'call' gins, so I tried the well brand. ::shudder:: We also had a few appetizers to snack on, which were decent. The pretzels bites were good, if a bit greasy, but we all really enjoyed the grouper bites. Nice touch that they were served with a lemon wedge. Didn't ask if I needed anything else or even check on me. Had to ask for napkins. Barely saw her. Service sucked. It wasn't crowded at all. Never came to give me my check. Even though we live right in the building this was my first time eating here. The drinks were great! The food was really good as well. I always have to try the buffalo chicken dip when i go places and it has great flavor -- I would've liked the chicken to be more chopped up or there be more chicken. After a few chunks of chicken It just became buffalo dip lol The ONLY downside was that the chips were SALTY -- had to request them without salt and they were fine. Also the fries were really salty. So I'd make sure to let them know LITE OR NO SALT! They have a pretty full menu, HAPPY HOUR specials throughout the week from 3 til 7 (I think) && moderately they're priced. The food is great. The drinks are reasonably priced, and a wonderful happy hour menu for pretty much every day of the week. The service is kinda slow, however. This is for the one near Channelside. On multiple occasions, we've set at a table for 15-20 minutes before one of the workers disengages from a conversation with other coworkers to bring menus. Horrible service when I arrived my girlfriend informed me that the manager was hitting on her and being creepy. She said he came over to the table twice before I arrived then once I arrived he never came over again. Once I arrived he started to be very rude to us and it was a very unpleasant experience.
