Bought a Room & Board couch about four years ago and it started sagging really badly about 2 years in. This year, it started causing a ton of back pain. It was either buy a new couch or get this one restuffed. I chose the latter because: 1. It's cheaper. 2. The frame and fabric are still in great shape. Mr. Kwong does really high-quality work, and at a fair price. He knew instantly what the issue with my old cushions was, what to restuff my couch cushions with, and got the job done in a week. Super nice guy and enjoyed chatting with him. He knows his furniture, highly recommend him!

No words can fully express what a MASTER furniture restorer Boris is. I had an antique dresser that…read moreI bought 40 years ago. It wasn't in the greatest shape. And I admit, I put a lot of wear and tear on it as well. The finish had many water stains, scratches, and dents but what was worse - the drawers inside were unusable. I couldn't get them open or closed. But in January 2024, I used Lugg to haul it to Boris and he transformed it into magnificence. Unbelievable. Beautiful. Fast forward to this fall, I had an antique desk that I'd picked up off the street about 20 years ago. Its finish was so bad, I just painted some ugly red marble finish over it. Many coats. Then I put glass over the top. I had it like that for 20 years. It wasn't ok, but first the glass cracked and when I tried to remove it, it stuck to the paint and wrecked the surface. Plus being near a window, there was much sun damage. So I took it to Boris and he worked his magic, restoring it to its original walnut finish. I simply cannot believe how beautiful it is. I had no idea it's wood was so nice, So in conclusion, YES, I highly recommend this business. Be willing to wait 4-6 weeks, buts what you will get back is really something to treasure. Thank you Boris!

I had a Chippendale chair with a broken seat base that needed to be replaced, but wanted to keep the fabric. Most places weren't interested in fixing something 'so small'.. So, I got on Yelp and decided to use their AI Assistant to find someone who could help. The responses came faster than I could have anticipated. The first one was from Leo at Leo's Upholstery. This was a business I was already considering, being somewhat close after 2 in Oakland. Leo's reviews are what sold me, outside of how responsive Leo was to my inquiry. I dropped off the chair, had a great chat with Leo about the chair, what we had done with it and other topics. He said it would be ready by Monday or Tuesday. I receive a text early on Tuesday morning, letting me know the chair was ready. We arranged a time and I came to get the chair. It was as promised. It's fixed (after many months of being damaged), it looks great, feels solid and I couldn't be happier with the experience. Leo will be my Go-To Furniture repair going forward.

We had our dining set and chairs for over ten years and we love the design of our chairs. It was hard thinking about trying to replace them until we decided that the issue is the cushions. Due to normal wear and tear, our cushions started to sink and we felt like there was a hole in our chairs (basically sitting on the toilet type of feeling) which is not nice if you want to eat your meal. We decided to look for help in upholstery (looked at it as DIY and with lots of YouTube-this did not last long as we decided it was too complicated). Needless to say that Alberto and his parents saved us! Alberto gave us a great deal on the cushions and completed them in a short amount of time! Thank you Alberto and family!

However, all I received was an invoice. This invoice was addressed to "walking client" and listed the price of the order I requested. As listed, there was labor, fabric, and shipping charges. I was more than ok with the labor and fabric costs. But shipping charges? For what? I did not request the finished item to be shipped to me. I also did not choose a fabric, nor a color, so how are they charging me $45 in shipping? I asked a very specific question and there was no answer to my question. Just the invoice and a very high shipping charge that was not accounted for. There was no dialogue. No greeting. No invite to speak with them more about the order. Just an invoice. I had read that this company was very personable, kind, and do good work. I cannot confirm any of this from my experience and will not patronage a business unwilling to treat me like a client and not just a paycheck. P.S. For Pillows & More: "Walking client" should be walk-in client. As in a client who walks into your establishment on foot, not an email.
