I can't recommend Mario's Bon Decor more highly! Kerri is wonderful with her attention to detail and knowledge of fabrics and hardware. Mario created a custom head board for us which is beautiful and sturdy and they made beautiful drapery for three rooms of our house. Guido amen to measure and was able to create a curved rod to beautifully fit an alcove window without hiding the architecture of the window. And Guido and Mauricio installed the drapes flawlessly. Gorgeous designs and the highest quality product. Thank you all for all of your excellence in customer service and all the recommendations you gave. We are very satisfied customers!

Custom sofa cushions for our West Elm sectional. Exceeded every expectation!

Meticulous craftsmanship, perfect fill/firmness, and less than a week turnaround. We provided fabric from West Elm & dimensions, requesting a box pattern to mimic the existing sofa cushions, and truly pleased with the results.

My 3 chairs look great! Completely new material, used old cushion. Great consult at store where I found material in stock to use. Paid for pickup and delivery. Less than 1 week start to finish with no special expedite. Perfect experience.

    Before in original condition

We brought my Dad's original old Herman Miller womb chair to Mario to reupholster. The chair was in rough condition and we were not sure it could be salvaged but Mario did an amazing job and made it look brand new, all while charging us a very reasonable amount. He and Kerrie were wonderful and easy to work with and I know if I ever need anything else reupholstered, I'm bringing it straight to Mario.

Best customer service and quality of work that we've experienced most recently! Maybe we were lucky but Mario had exactly the color material in stock to replace the worn-out seat and back pads for our five counter chairs. He said he would have them done by week's end (we brought them in on a Monday) but he got them done in two days!! And the workmanship is immaculate...the chairs look brand new now! Can't say enough about how immensely satisfied we are! Thanks, Mario and staff, keep up the fantastic work!

After being refinished and reupholstered - note how the seat is cushier too :)

Absolutely wonderful place, and a hidden gem! I had two chairs that I wanted painted and upholstered. They don't do the painting/refinishing but they have a partner who does, and they coordinated the whole project for me. They also have an amazing selection of fabrics to choose from, and the service and communication are great. Best of all they managed to make this chair actually comfortable by improving the cushioning in the seat.

    Beautiful pleats!

Mario is the best! There are other upholsterers out there and some are less expensive but Mario does the highest quality work and is worth every penny. I have a precious Baker Milling Road chair which needed some TLC. After searching for the right fabric (with Kerrie's patience and guidance!) for months, I finally found the right fabric for the job. Mario listened carefully and paid attention to every detail. The tufting, pleats and piping are perfect. Thank you Mario and Kerrie! I will never go anywhere else. (Sorry, haha!)

I got you. I will cover your a^%. This is what Mario said to me when I told him that the prototype cushion I made wasn't working for me. And he did. 110%. Mario is a busy guy - he upholsters people's furniture for a living. So, when I approached him about doing a crazy project for a build-a-chair-class at Stanford (this is a real thing, I promise - ME263), I wasn't sure if he would bite. He and Carrie, who delightfully reminds me of a mix between a sunflower and Jerry Seinfeld, helped me put the project together. And they followed my crazy whims to the ends of the Earth. First, it was going to be a massive chaise lounge. Could we add lumbar support? What kind of materials? They prefer to use their own, which I understand. We puzzled over it like we were planning the moon landing. Should the lounge velcro on? Should there be creases? A multi-part cushion or a single massive piece? Carrie was full of ideas, and going in to visit them was so key. Mario stopped by and we reviewed. The craftsman saw the challenge and, while noting its difficulty, heartily accepted. Weeks passed as I prototyped and realized the insanity of this project. All along, Carrie was keeping in good touch, dutifully reminding me how this project would take time as we were nearing my deadline. Then - a plot twist. My professors dissuaded me from the lounge chair, and it instead, became a guitar stool. I'm a drummer, and so I lacked a legit guitar stool. First world problems, I know. Anyway, back to Mario's! I brought them the wooden discs as requested (though they offered to make these for me too.) I'm pretty sure I gave Carrie a splinter, but it helps that she moonlights as a superhero, so no matter. I clearly marked the top and bottom and asked for two different designs. The first - if they could turn it around quickly for the class? Yes! Holy cow Batman, Mario turned it around in less than 48 hours! I dropped it off Tuesday morning, and I was back to pick it up on Thursday afternoon. Flawless victory. Was there an extra charge for the quick turnaround? No sir. In fact, the prices were very reasonable. Their work is worth more than they are charging, no doubt. And you know what? This was my first time making a chair, but I'm pretty sure it's Mario's 10,000th time. And so, he ignored my top and bottom marks, noting that I was wrong (first time, remember?) - the special magic screws (T-nuts I'm told they're called), go the other way. Mario did the right thing. He DIDN'T follow my instructions - thank God! The cushion was/is amazing. He was even able to go for 3" tall foam, when we had agreed that it was unrealistic. Boom! And here's the incredible epilogue. The 2nd design, to really wow my friends and Professors: it was pretty tricky, with a drawing of a guitar pick and two different colors on the top. I gave Mario a drawing I did on my computer, but not a fabric pattern or anything snazzy like that. It is gorgeous. He did an amazing job. It is SO close to what I drew - curves and all. What an artist. In all the hustle and bustle, Mario happened to misalign the complicated design (which, again, was so well done) with the screws, and he immediately went to work to fix it - 'I'll call you when it's done.' 2 hours later, my phone rings. Expedient, excellent, masterful. To quote the famous Daryl Hall and John Oates - Carrie and Mario - 'You make-uh my dreams come true!' Thanks again so much for working with me on this project. I worked like hell to finish the stool properly and make it beautiful in large part because my work needed to match how epic yours was. Highly, highly recommend. - kevin rustagi.

I know Mario's work from redoing heavy use chairs where I work, the San Mateo Public Library. That's why I came to Mario. Beautiful work!

This old chair went from almost being left in the street to one of our prized possessions.

Mario is a great craftsman. We are so happy with the refurbishment/reupholstering he's done for us. We highly and wholeheartedly recommend Mario's Bon Decor.

    Flattened seat cushion.

Had 4 Pottery Barn dining chairs which were losing their support. Mario redid the strapping and replaced the seat padding without having to touch the nail heads. Brilliant.

    My reupholstered sofa

Mario and his team are masters! They have a wide array of fabric and are able to hone in on your needs and show you a multitude of options. I knew what I wanted, so the fabric selection was fast. Once the fabric arrived, they picked up my sofa and the magic commenced. Mario and his team are uber talented with a keen eye for detail. He cleaned up and re-stained the legs of my sofa so they enrich the piece and blend with the other wood pieces in the room. I'm thrilled with the final product, it's more handsome now than when it was new. The best!

It was quiet in the shop at first but quickly became busy, but I honestly didn't mind waiting in line for my turn because the staff gave the same amount of time to me as they did to everyone in front of me in line. I was kind of surprised at how inexpensive the whole purchase was, after she showed me my total, because I hadn't checked the prices of anything.
