The staff were super friendly and helpful with guiding me on what to order. The service was quick and they made sure I was happy with everything. The cold beer and white sangria were so refreshing on that hot summer day. It was exactly what I needed after spending a whole morning walking the city. I tried their Valencia Paella and gambas! The Valencia paella was definitely an interesting take on paella! Normally I get the seafood but why not try the one that was created in the city I was visiting. The rice was nicely seasoned and not too salty. The chicken was good and not dry! The rabbit was the only part I was not too ecstatic about. It was different for sure but not bad. I loved the beans in the paella also! The gambas were perfectly cooked and tasted amazing with the squeeze of lemon! The place is a little pricey but I did go alone so probably a good spot to go with others to! There is an extensive menu so you can also try a lot more!

When I found out our cruise was going to stop in Valencia, Spain I knew that we had to have paella…read more I love paella, and to have it in the birthplace of the original paella was a dream come true. But how do we know where to get the best paella... Ask the best driver, of course. On our way into town I was able to strike up a conversation with our bus driver who, once I asked him about the best paella, immediately pointed us in the direction of La Pepica. It was a no-brainer once we got there. We had to order a very traditional recipe with a rabbit, of course. But before the payer came out, I had to try some of their oysters. Six raw oysters on the half shell... They were quite large at that... Were a fantastic way to start the meal. And once the paella arrived, we were not disappointed. I make paella at home. I just can't do it the way they do it here. In addition to being a fantastic place to have paella, this restaurant sits along a walkway that borders the beach and Mediterranean Sea. It was a picture perfect place to eat and have great food.

We tried being nice to him from moment one but i suspect he didn't like English-speaking people. We could see he was polite & all smiles to other Spanish customers. But to us, he couldn't have given us the time of day. He was condescending, dismissive & brought the wrong entrée when I specifically asked for a fish paella; he insisted it had ONLY fish....with no calamari. but he brought us the seafood one which has nothing but shrimp and EXTRA calamari. if it was a kitchen mistake, that's fine. But it was his attitude that ruined the entire meal from start to finish! By this time, I was so done with his rude behavior we kept the wrong entrée. My partner, who speaks some Spanish, did his best to order everything in Spanish and I was polite, smiled, and tried my best to engage with him as our hotel highly recommended this restaurant. but there was nothing we could do to make this man even pretend he gave a damn about our table. I will never return to this restaurant and highly recommend that others seek out a restaurant along this stretch of beach in which their servers treat them better than this man. He was short, had slick back black hair, 40-ish and his attitude was as dark as his soul. never again. shame on him!

I saw a lady help herself to the Pinchos putting them on a plate and paying the gentleman behind the counter. Self-serve Pinchos-ok. I picked 3 of them and can't say what they were as there wasn't any signage. Also, ordered a Majou. After paying, I went to find a seat outside. A server was cleaning one table and it looked like another party was going to sit there so i walked over to another table when the Guy barked out what sounded like "only for 4 people outside.". Must be a thing in Valencia for a minimum in a party to sit outside as this also happened at another spot. He pointed to a table inside. Ok, inside it is. All of the Pinchos were tasty and the other employees were friendly. Get here early for a better Pincho selection and watch out for the guy who likes to shout about their outside seating rules.

I was recommended the sardines to start -- lightly fried fillets served over a bed of crunchy patatas, peppers, and delicate petals. Beautifully plated and absolutely delicious, it was the perfect portion since I was also planning to order paella. Masusa offers both personal-sized and larger paellas, which was ideal as a solo traveler. Co-owner Ana recommended the black rice paella with fish, calamari, and monkfish cooked in squid ink. It was flavorful and even better with their special garlic sauce. The couple seated next to me ordered the Paella Russafa -- a spicy red seafood paella -- and kindly shared a taste. Delicioso! I'm so happy I had the opportunity to dine at Masusa. Many thanks to the owners, Ana y su hermana, for creating such a warm and homey restaurant experience.

Luckily our hotel was close to some…read morerestaurants and we came across this paella restaurant that our tour guide suggested as previous guests enjoyed the food. The paella is served in 2 person portions since we were 3 we had to order either 1 pan or 2 pans. We ended up getting 2 pans. The food did take alot of time to prepare as they are made fresh to order. We order black squid ink paella and the seafood paella. The black paella was really good and taste was on point. The seafood paella was too salty and we had to drink alot of water after our meal. We did encounter an issue with our order they brought some croquettes and hot peppers to our table. We did not order them and asked them to take it away. Overall the meal was good but if I had a chance to redo it I should have tried the duck paella or the Valencia paella (rabbit and chicken). Thank you for the memorable meal and we were able to dine on the heated patio with some fellow guests on our tour.

Due to that you will see many tourists gliding the streets. Service was very good. Friendly and easy communication. Food and drinks: Good selection of paella and other classic shareable starters. We opted for croquettes and octopus for starters. All were prepared well and tasted good. Paella Valenciana and paella with squid ink were good but I feel like they were catered more towards tourists pallets. Still have to find place that serves the traditional paella. Wines and drinks were very good. Pricing: $$ - prices were more on the tourist side than local eateries.

So we went there and had tapas and sangrias. The fresh tapas come out like every 5-6 minutes the servers will walk the fresh plate to every table and put what ever was left on the bar counter where the other tapas are. So pretty much you sit where you want or ask a server to be polite, then you sit order drinks and if you want the tapas from the bar - they are self serve or as I mentioned the fresh from the kitchen warm tapas will come from the kitchen and a server will come to your table and offer them. You will be charged by how many food picks or spoons are on your table and that's it. It's super easy and quick. Our parties favorites were the burger tapa, the croquetas, and the chorizo tapa. Personally I also really enjoyed the sausage tapa, pizza tapa and the anchovies tapa. Ask the waiter behind the counter for any recommendations. The bacon wrapped croqueta tapa was delicious too I didn't take a photo because I immediately ate it!! They have clean rest rooms. The only thing is the door to get to the restrooms is a little heavy so if you are with elderly or have a disability ask a server to help you. Other than that good music played, and it was a cool environment. Enjoy!

We have lived in Valencia for 10 years and this was the worst pour we have ever gotten. It was a like a half of a glass of wine. I would not recommend this restaurant at all. It is totally touristy these days and the wine is a rip off. The pinchos were okay though. There are many other great choices for tapas in Valencia.
