I really liked Tapelia. Our server, Rafaela, was a sweetheart. Although the kitchen was slow, but I could see she wasn't at fault. The food was good. I had the Churrasco steak and it was juicy, full flavored, and excellent, with amazing Chimichurri sauce. The appitizers were great too. The drinks were a bit of a disappointment, but not terrible? I really enjoyed the Tiramisu. It was one of the better ones I've had. I reccomend this place. Miami has a pretty good spot here, although the drinks were a bit of a weak spot, overall this a definite must go in South Beach. read more

We stopped by this place during our shopping trip at Lincoln Mall in Miami and oh boy were we in for quite a treat. The drinks came out first, my husband and I ordered the classic Mojitos which were delicious and really strong! Be warned the drinks are really strong! For mains we ordered the carne paella since this place is the self proclaimed paella masters. Unfortunately the paella too forever. Our waiter told us 20 min and it took over an hour, so we were starving and drunk by the time our food came. The is a lot going on around we sat outside, so that kept us occupied. The inside was pretty empty because all the action was outside. Back to the food. The paella was worth the wait!!! I don't know if they went to plant each grain of rice individually because it was cooked and seasoned to perfection. Our waiter did apologize for the long wait and he kept checking on us and got us even more drunk with their house sangria. The paella at this place was amazing!!! certainly one of the better paellas in my young foodie career. The mojitos here were also very nice and refreshing. My only negative to this restaurant was , the day that we were there the food took a very long time to come out , we sat down and ordered food immediately , and were told the paella would take 25 mins. I think their self labeling of 'paella masters' is a SERIOUS misnomer. I usually like to start reviews with the good and end with the bad but in this case I have to contradict that first claim off the bat. It was definitely the worst thing on the menu. We ordered the seafood paella with the lobster addition. I can't say that I enjoyed anything from that plate, from the non crunchy overcooked rice to the massively overcooked seafood (poor lobster.. gave your life for this dish) to the lack of seasoning (I still haven't gotten the salt I asked for). What I would have given for a garlic aioli! I don't recommend you get this dish therefore can't recommend you come here. Maybe it's my fault for not spotting a tourist focused business right away. But there were a few ok things on the menu such as the flatbread, croquetas and ceviche (after that first fishy bite the rest was not bad). I won't even mention sweating like a marathoner during the meal (guess I did) eating outside under a tent in the Miami heat but I guess that's par for the course in the city. My first time visiting Tapelia while on 2022 Spring Break in Miami. It was just about sunset and was worn out from partying and the sun so needed a quiet spot for a quick cocktail and lite eats. We started off with the oysters which were nice and fresh. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. Being from Fort Lauderdale and having grown up in Miami, I've had my fair share of paellas. Of course when I saw this on the menu, I talked my friends into getting it since it was family style eating. I wasn't very happy with it, rice was very sticky and the large shrimp on top had the shells on and were not cleaned or deveined. My friends weren't very excited about it either but the flavors were there. Seemed like the rice was over cooked but again great flavors. Yes, the area is super touristy so I wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised by this place. I was strolling down Lincoln Road on a Monday evening and looked at the menus from several different restaurants before sitting down here. I ordered the Tapelia sangria, which was really good. Not too sweet. Love eating the alcohol-soaked fruit at the bottom of my drink. For my main course, I got the garlic shrimp entree which came with a side of rice and a side salad. Perfect flavor and generous portions. A little pricey for the food, but the drinks were surprisingly inexpensive.
