Not the best selection of beer on tap which was a little unusual for a pub but offered most of the popular ones which were fine. My boyfriend and I both ordered a cheeseburger and were very pleased with our choices. Bun: brioche style bun was extremely fresh with the inside toasted to perfection Patty: fresh ground meat seasoned well and cooked exactly how we ordered. Toppings: very fresh with one of the best dill pickles I've ever had! Fries: hand cut and tasty but were cold which was a bummer Gravy: red wine gravy was quite flavorful Cole slaw: oil and vinegar style slaw seasoned nicely. One of the better ones I've had Service was mediocre but it was such a beautiful day on the patio that it didn't seem to matter that much! Will definately stop in again if we ride through.

I stopped in for dinner last night and had terrible food and service. I ordered the chicken kabobs…read morewith steamed rice and veggies. The chicken was so incredible dry and was so gamey I thought I was eating lamb. The chicken tasted liked it was cooked after sitting in a fridge for a week. The rice was flavourless, the veggies tasted like they had freezer burn. The waitress did not come to our table once to see how everything was. I had to get her attention after 20-30 min as I lost my appetite and didn't want to eat anything else but advised her that it was awful and she took it off the bill. Quality of food and service is the worst I have seen in a long time. I would not recommend this place.

Stopped by for a quick bite before hiking and I think the burgers are just okay. I ordered a…read moresmashburger and upgraded my side to a french onion soup instead of fries and I think I honestly liked the french onion soup better than the main itself. When it came out, I was excited because it looked really good, but after biting into it, it was pretty mid. I feel like the burger could've been executed better for the price they're charging. IMO the patties were still pretty thick to be considered a smashburger, and despite being thicker than expected, they weren't very juicy. The buns were pretty dense and came untoasted as well. It wasn't bad, just not impressive. The portioning was enough to get me full, but I would want to order a different entree if I decided to come back. The french onion soup upgrade was definitely worth the money and I do recommend ordering that! Service was good, my server was really nice and helpful with answering any questions I had about the menu. Food came out pretty quick after ordering and the atmosphere is nice and clean. I'd like to give this place a second chance in the future but it wouldn't be my first choice.

Overall good food and service…read more The place looks nice, had an upgrade since the last time I came. The wait staff are very friendly and willing to help. The food tasted good. They had a lot of burgers on the menu but only one that didn't have fillers and was gluten free. The $4 charge for gluten free was too much and the extra charge for hot sauce, for that reason I might not come back. An extra $1 or $2 ok but not $4, the whole pack of 4 buns costs $5-6.

Location/Service Stumbled upon this place while doing a day…read moretrip. This spot is right by the river with patio setup in the summer. Inside is very big and can accommodate large groups (best to reserve in advance). You can also sit by the bar if you like. Typical bar and grill setup - I like the little pieces of decor to spruce up the vibe. Staff were very nice, I'd really like the bartender who gave recommendations for first timers and explain the menu. Food Menu has a lot of typical bar & grill items, but with a Newfoundland twists since it's Newfoundland style. So definitely try dishes that are more known on the east end - like Newfie Fries, Lobsters, Cod au Gratin, Newfie Steak Dinner. The steak is a maple leaf bologna and not you're typical meat - more of the saltier and drier side. Newfie fries is a type of dressing that uses bread crumbs and yellow onions - again more of the saltier side, but it matches quite well with gravy as a poutine. Food pricing overall is very standard and not overly expensive. Portion sizes were very generous, had to pack it to go. Overall a good find if you're in the neighbourhood and traveling, great to explore and learn more about Newfoundland food.
