The only reason I even went with this place is because I heard good things about the owner. His employees, however, specifically Chad are like every other dealership and like to screw people over. I worked with Josh with this deal and he was awesome. Kept me informed and honestly worked for me. Chad comes in and screws up writing up the deal. For about a week I was under the impression that I was going to have a certain monthly payment. Come to signing and they realize he didn't put the license and plate fees into the amount! After receiving this notice in the mail. I called Tanner Motors. I explained that I had already had the recall taken care of but would like to take advantage of the free oil change. An appointment was scheduled and I was told to make sure I brought the coupon with as that is how the dealership is reimbursed from the factory. I arrived for my appointment and was then rudely told by Chris that I could not use the free oil change coupon as the recall work had already been done. Early April worked with Shannon at Tanner Motors via email about buying a car. We were coming back from Spring Break and had him put it on hold. When we got there the car was parked out front ready for us to check it out, including a fresh wax. Bought the car, Shannon was GREAT to work with, the signing of the documents were quick. Although the dealership needs to upgrade to signing documents electronically like other dealerships. Everyone was very professional, and courteous. 4 days later a mechanical issue came up (1 day after the warranty expired), which I do believe was unknown to the dealership. Shannon offered to come to the cities to pick up the car and have it repaired (or work with the Chevrolet dealership). As the car was getting repairs, Shannon kept me up to date with the status of the car. I will be reaching out to Shannon for my next car, great customer service. read more

This dealer sold me a car "as is" but charged me a price that would indicate that nothing to serious was wrong with the car. This car was in the shop continuously and was finally told it needed a motor 6 months after I bought it. This car should have never have been sold to anyone it should have gone to the junk yard. I have invested $13000 in a car I paid $18000 for. I was treated very poorly by the service department and made to wait for 7 hours for a loaner car. My check engine light kept coming on and they couldn't find the problem and told me I would have to just live with it. I took it to my local mechanic and they found a hole in my fuel pump in about 5 minutes. Unprofessional is the word that comes to mind time and time again. XIf Tanner motors was the last place to buy a car, I would buy a horse. read more

Last year we brought our van into Tanner Motors; the problem was fixed promptly and for a reasonable cost. We were very satisfied. I don't know what's happened to them since then (we were told staffing/supply problems), but things have really gone downhill over there. We brought my van in for a problem about a month ago. They kept giving us the run-around, and no one ever answered the phone or returned phone messages. We finally picked the car up and took it somewhere else. The woman at the service desk was polite and sympathetic, and she tried to explain why they were so behind, but it's inexcusable to keep a car for four weeks without even looking at it. Take your car somewhere else until they get things straightened out over there. read more

As I walked in to pay for my service and pick up my car, there was 5 people behind the counter. I said 'Hello!' And not one person said hello back, none the less greeted me with 'How can I help you?' When the guy handed me my bill, I was startled as it was double to what the mechanic quoted me over the phone. They charge you $50 bucks to diagnose EACH thing that is wrong. I had asked them to check on two different issues. They were pretty simple issues ( non motor related ). I think that is ridiculous and it would have been nice if the mechanic explained that to me. I understand the mechanics need to get paid for their time, but how about just a flat rate for a diagnosis? I will never bring my car for servicing again. Called me saying they have the parts for my car and are starting to work on it. It's know been 3 and a half weeks since that phone call called them today and there PUSHING MY CAR BACK ANOTHER WEEK! I went online to the BBB and made a complaint.I traded in my 2009 Nissan Versa for a 2010 Mecerdes 350ml class.This vehicle was still under factory warranty,Plus I purchased an additional warranty 36,000 3 years for $3,000.I had it 2 days when it started making a squeaking noise.My husband checked it and discovered it was a idler arm Pulley on the serpentine belt.I called the service dept and was given the run around,seems I was supposed to call my sales person first,Seriously.I was jogged back and forth and after begging for concern of the belt breaking I managed to get it looked at,they had to order parts don't ya know after all it is. Mecerdes.Meanwhile I am driving it and the check light comes on I call again and am told as long as it's not blinking it's ok to drive.I was told constantly that they were full up busy with recalls..So once I filed my complaint with the BBB I was immediately contact by Jake who was gonna fix it all.Right...They sent out a curtesy car to my house and picked up my vehicle(Remember I am under warranty so why did they not offer this in the beginning?)Fast forward my vehicle was returned fixed so they say the check engine light was a thermostat costed $239 & 2 hours labor so I am told.Again I am under warranty why am I being told? So my vehicle comes back totally filthy on the outside caked with dirt and the front carpet had a pick of paper to protect the mat it didn't was grease on it.I had cleaned their vehicle and filled it up with fuel.Jake called to find out how they did ,when I told him he once again apologized and offered to have my vehicle detailed ? Was wondering since they have a free car wash why it wasn't already? I was then asked by Jake to remove my complaint on the BBB I refused. He was very rude when I refused.How about you just fix your problems then you can stop bending over and being apologetic.I am takeing my vehicle elseware for warranty work.I would never ever purchase from this company again. read more

As others have said I would give them no stars if I could. Took my Ram in for a recall repair and had them change the engine cooling fan at the same time. Got the truck back and the fan clutch was not engaging. Worked fine when I brought it in and did not work when I picked it up. They did have to remove it from the truck to change the fan blade but were unwilling to accept responsibility for damaging it. First they said it was just a coincidence, then they tried giving me some BS about the bearing failing. They wanted almost $400 to replace it. My local independent mechanic did it for about $120. Had a bad experience with my wife's jeep there a couple years back so now I'm done for good. Never again will I go there and not only will I not recommend them I will rip them every chance I get. read more

Wish I could give them less than one star for customer service. It begins with their receptionist -or their system. Calls are dropped, misdirected or never returned, time and time again. Today was their last chance with me and they blew it AGAIN. I like the 2015 Altima I got from them, but will never do business here again, simply because of the consistently poor service they have provided to me. Never again! horrible experience. would not recommend this place to anyone. 2 1/2 hours away from home my car broke down. called towing company right next to Tanner Motors and they came and towed it to Tanner Motors. Spent three hours there with no vehicle just for them to diagnose that it was the O2 sensor that didn't actually pop up on the computer when diagnosing it. they thought they had an O2 sensor but here to find out it was the wrong one and they wouldn't have one till the following day. there were no rentals anywhere close to us. my dad had to load up my moms car and drive 2 1/2 hours for us to have a vehicle to drive because we were on our way to duluth. we were told we would get a call and update on the car while in duluth because our plan was to pick it up on that sunday on the way back home. did not receive a phone call from them so i had to call. turned out it was the PCM and they were unsure of when they would see a PCM. My dad told them to call as soon as they got a PCM in. Thursday rolls around and PCM comes in. They work on it the rest of the week. Monday rolls around and PCM is put in but not programmed. We have them until 1 to program it. My dad called and Garyck told him he would call him back. Didn't receive a phone call so i called Garyck. Was gonna "call me back." Which we were told we would get phone calls from them and never received one phone call. I had him put me on hold and go check what was up with my car. Turns out PCM was in but car was still "running rough." At this point they had wasted our time. My dad called and told them how it was. Got my car back with no bill because they screwed us over. Moral of the story, don't ever take your car to them. They will charge you an arm and a leg, have your car as long as they can, won't have any answers, and will tell you the same excuse week after week. read more

I went to Tanner Honda a few years back to get some things fixed on my car. One was the rubber window strip that stopped water from leaking in to my window and the other was a $3 center console clip because it was broken when I got the car. Well after about 2 hours it was done, and they charged me $30 for "center console clip installation" which was 2 Phillips screws. I said it was ridiculous and they told me its what the book says to charge and that's what they have to charge. I wanted to talk to a manager but there wasn't one on duty so they said to pay and come back and talk to a manager to get it adjusted. Whatever, I paid and left. When I got home I had realized instead of charging me $58 the bill said, they had charged me $85 on "accident"... I stopped back in several times to talk to a manager and show them the bill, but whenever I stopped in the manager was conveniently not there, and the regular employees couldn't help me get my refund. I never got a call from a manager to fix the charge error, and I gave up on this useless place. On top of that, the rubber strip at the bottom of the window that they had "fixed" fell off within a few months. NEVER AGAIN will I go to a tanner dealership for any auto related repairs, nor will I buy my next Honda from them because I know the quality of the repair service they offer. read more
