To Rescue Air's credit, they had been warning us each time they came out for HVAC Filter rotations. Thankfully, Rescue Air's ace plumbing expert Mr. Phillip Blystone was dispatched to my home to assess the situation. Within minutes he identified the issue and immediately started to work out a plan and arrangement my family could manage to cover the expense of the Water Heater replacement: the source of the leaking problem. Rescue Air has a very long history of working with my family since we've been in this home (2016), so that level of service is a given these days. But that's not the complete reason for the 5-Star rating. The next day, now with a working heater, my wife and I discovered that a leak was still present in the Garage. Upon calling Rescue Air to let them know what was going on, Mr. Blystone responded swiftly to our location to triage the leak. Using both his advanced equipment and intuition, he found that in spite of the solid repair and replace he and his team performed of the water heater, a leak was sadly missed during the initial assessment. Most other business would likely have tacked on a "not-our-problem" sort of response to this. However, Mr. Blystone and by extension Rescue Air are not your normal type of company. With careful consideration of the economic circumstance of the recent repair & purchase, balancing years of customer loyalty and being a genuinely saint, Mr. Blystone proceeded to isolate and resolve the leak (a small puncture hole in the T-pipe hot-water line leading from the heater) pro-gratis. Completely unexpected, but definitely much appreciated! It goes without saying it would be extremely foolish for my family to consider doing business with anyone else in the Dallas Metro given Rescue Air's track record with our family. The value lost would be far too great. While I hope to not need their services as often as recently, I definitely look forward to working with them and Mr. Blystone should the need arise again.

They claimed safety issues, pushed contracts in front of me, and scheduled installation for the next day. I tried to cancel but was told I was locked in. I ended up spending around $30,000. After the installation, every maintenance visit came with aggressive attempts to sell me more services I did not need. Then the new system failed in 106 degree heat. The compressor failed at only 16 months old. Communication was poor, and I was left without AC for about seven days. I had to repeatedly chase them for updates. They did not have the part, did not follow up, and someone finally arrived at 10:30 PM after days of waiting. They gave me a two year complimentary membership as compensation. I assumed the membership would end after the two free years. My card on file had expired, yet in May and June 2026 the company suddenly began charging me again. This suggests someone manually updated my card information without my permission. I never authorized a renewal, never received a renewal notice, and never received invoices for any charges. They refunded the charges I caught, but then claimed I owed $95.80 for four months of fees that were never billed and never agreed to. I asked for written confirmation of a zero balance and never received a direct response. They only responded to the BBB and stated the account was at zero. Based on my experience with both service and billing, I strongly recommend being cautious before using this company.

Sadly, the owner of Nick's passed away and this company is now owned by Dunrite. I called that company based on the reviews of Nick's Air Services, but their services has definitely NOT been the same as mentioned on this profile. In summary, this company is expensive, can make improper recommendations, and the office is very difficult to get anyone to call you back. I absolutely would not use them again in the future and - had I read their Yelp profile for Dunrite Heating & Cooling - would never have called them in the first place. My experience: My air conditioning due to leaked refrigerant due to another HVAC technician not correct. Nick's/Dunrite came out during the same day and quickly identified the problem. There was a leak on the schrader valve. They got us back to running - for nearly $200/per pound of refrigerant. 5 lbs = about $1,000. Wow, but we had no choice as my original installer was not available. Our unit has not been keeping up with the 90s for the past two months and the technician recommended 3 different options. I chose 2 of the 3 options: a larger return air duct AND repairing the plenum. I was anxious to get the work scheduled and it took me hounding them to get them to schedule the work. Communicating with this office was very painful. I would never get calls back and would just get a text message indicating when they had scheduled the appointment. Their front desk support was exceedingly helpful but not empowered to do anything besides schedule appointments and pass along info. I finally had the appointment and the technician went to the wrong address. I got a call from them saying they had been at my house and then they proceeded to the next job. I spoke to them and learned they were at the wrong house, but could not turn around to go back to my house. I had to wait until the following week to get the appointment rescheduled. What a disaster. It got worse. The work was finally done - the return air duct and the plenum. I waited a couple of days, but there was NO change in the air conditioning. I called them back again and they scheduled another technician to come out. The second technician came out, a more senior technician, who confirmed that the unit was undersized and "working as it was designed" to cool at 75-76. I don't know a single person who is comfortable with 75-76 in the house when the outside is in the 90s. I called customer service again. When I finally got someone, I got a call from William, who is their most senior technician (an older guys in his late-50s probably). He came out with the original technical and instructed him how to properly do a heat load calculation. They determined indeed the unit is undersized and I needed a 3 ton. I called back the customer service asking for a refund to the work. I've called at least 3-4 times, each time speaking with a very nice person. However, I've still not been called back. What a disaster. I've finally had to resort to filing a complaint with my credit card and disputing it through them. It's unfortunate and I didn't want to have to do this, but - when no one will call you back - it's very very hard to trust this company to make things right.

My understanding per the contract and my discussion with Baker Bros, was that the project would take 2 days and included restoration of the yard, with existing grass being replaced where possible and sod being installed in areas where the original grass could not be salvaged. Instead the project extended from last Thursday through Friday of the next week, which was substantially longer than anticipated. Although the plumbing was complete, the backfill, and yard restoration was not. Ultimately, I'm disappointed with the condition in which the yard was left. While I understand excavation work will inevitably impact the appearance of the lawn, I expected the restoration work to be performed with greater care and attention to detail. Some of the sod had been laid over each other or over existing grass rather than being properly cut and fitted into areas where replacement was actually needed. My expectation was never that the yard would look exactly as it did before the repair. However, I did expect the restoration efforts to reflect the same level of professionalism as the sewer line replacement itself. For example, on the first day of yard restoration after I had chatted with a Baker Bros Service Plumber about the yard, who I am assuming to be the general foreman of the 3rd party restoration crew, showed up to my home and I walked out to a group of around 8 men, and he stated, "my boss said you have a problem". But I would've expected Baker Bros to come out to check on the status of 3rd party contracted work. I've used baker bros since we bought our home over 3 years ago and have always had positive experiences; however, this piece was not a great one.

Tech who came out was unable to complete the job, said he had to be somewhere else and that what he did should be good enough. Said work is warranted for 30 days, and they'd come back out and re-do it if it clogged again. I joked about only 30 days, and asked "so, if it's 40 days, it's going to cost me hundred of dollars again?" He said they're flexible about the time, and that they want to build relationships. Fast forward to last Friday. Kitchen drain backing up again, and had a commode with a failed wax ring that was leaking and destroying my wood floors. Same day, emergency, and weekend service was NOT available. I did the best I could... I turned off the water to the commode and pulled up the damaged wood so I could dry out the are and prevent further damage, and I scheduled a service call for Monday morning. Mallory called this morning (Monday) to say they were on the way. I confirmed that they had the auger on the truck for a do-over, and that they had the parts on the truck and the time available to replace the water line valves under four of my sinks, as previously planned. She said yes. Great! Plumbers showed up, said Mallory told them to charge me again for the angering because they don't warranty that. Also, the auger in their machine was broken and they'd have to have someone else come out. I called the office, spoke with Mallory. I ended up asking to speak with the manager, she claimed that title for herself. I asked to speak to the owner, and she said he doesn't come in, and he will not call customers, that she (Mallory) was the final authority. Mallory told me they would be happy to do the other $900+ of work that I had scheduled for today, and would redo the drain auger for $425, but no warranty. Needless to say, I sent the techs on their way. There is a reason that this company has such a low rating and so many negative comments. I wish I had checked before I wasted my time and money dealing with them.
