I have a 275 gallon oil tank in the basement that needed to replaced and feel very lucky to find Brian and his company to come out and replace it without any problems what so ever.I had gotten 5 estimates and he beat all five and his contract is straight forward with no opened ends. In 2013 Tank Masters removed a 1,000 gallon in ground oil tank. Putting the lies aside I want to home in on the "completed" job. After the tank was removed and sat in my yard for about a month, they finally came in to fill the hole and grade the area. Once everything settled many pieces of black plastic surfaced, most of which was and still is buried in the ground. It is now 2017 and nothing will grow in this area, not even weeds and even moss is very sparse. I have tried to get something to grow there and nothing will. At this point I would like to say that I have spend over 45 years in the turf industry. In fact I currently teach Turf Management. I have consulted for homeowners, landscapers, golf courses and sports stadiums. I think I know what I am doing and talking about. I do not know what they used to fill in the hole but, again, nothing will grow there. I have finally decided to bite the bullet and have the soil removed and new soil brought in. I am very seriously thinking of calling an attorney to discuss this matter as it will now cost me approximately $2,100.00 to fix the problem and this is after paying Tank Masters in excess of $15,000.00 Folks, stay away. I am finally getting around to writing a review for this incredible gem of a company. I just recommended them to a neighbor and sang their praises, so I think it might be helpful to do so on Yelp for more to see. Tank Masters abandoned my tank in Northern Westchester quite a few years back. I decided to abandon instead of remove to save on cost. (the town comes and checks the tank and they file the certification papers you need, so to abandon is the same as remove because you get the filed papers) I first searched locally in my town and priced the job out to 3 different companies with Tank Masters being one of them. Not only were TM numbers much more fair in pricing, but they made the whole process feel much- much less stressful. They are nice people and also confident in what they do --have been at it for many years-- and the whole experience was extremely professional. I have to say that it can be stressful to go through this process because you just don't know if your tank is okay or not (luckily mine was fine), but they really do a wonderful job at holding your hand throughout the whole process--and believe me I asked many questions at the office. Never was I made to feel badly about that. They made the entire process as relaxed as possible. You really feel that they are working with you to get the job done efficiently. They came in the morning and were out of there a few hours after. Done. They are totally above board and they understand how some companies in the industry can really overprice. Also, they drove pretty far to my house so they will travel. I can't say enough about this group. You won't be sorry you used them. read more
