I had seen that they had a Myspace page so looked them up, emailed them about the dress and they emailed me right back blahblahblah I had the dress 2 days later. They were SO incredibly nice to deal with, and I can't remember the last time I've been able to say that about a shop!

They start off with a half hour introduction that includes each of their backgrounds regarding kayaking experience and some of the knowledge they have gained that pertains to the kayaking tour. Then they give a brief lesson about the bioluminescent plankton, then the safety talk. By the end of the talk you can tell how much they all love what they do and how committed they are to making sure you are safe and that you have a wonderful experience. The kayaking was easy, nothing strenuous, making it easy to watch the bioluminescence. And the bioluminescence was absolutely magical! They look like fireflies in the water! You can light them up with your paddle or even your hands. If you stir the water and scoop it up you can even get some lit-up plankton in your hand.. I would highly recommend Olympic Outdoor Center for this tour and we plan on returning again!

Neither my dad or I had ever kayaked before and honestly we were terrible at it initially but one of the guides came over by us with words of encouragement and eventually we were able to pick it up and get into a rhythm. It ended up being quite a fun and memorable experience! The bioluminescent plankton was subtle but still quite magical looking and just being out on the water under the night sky was breathtakingly beautiful. My dad and I agreed that we would absolutely come back and do this again!

I was in! Upon arriving, seeing the beautiful old houses, a cute authentic general store, and amazing views of the sound, I couldn't wait to explore it further. Plenty of parking, I headed down to check out the beach, on the way seeing that during the summer season, there are kayak rentals (another reason to return) what made the beach interesting, besides a ton of seashells, was that it was adjacent to where the town in the old days had their dump and landfill, so over time, the old glass was finding its way onto the beach, Cool stuff! A little bit like the glass beach near Fort Bragg, Cali. Definitely enjoyed walking through the town, appreciating the buildings and houses and history. They have guest houses for rent, there was a wedding going on, so that's another venue available, lots of gift and art shops and a cute Tap House I'll review as well.
