Came to the north shore quickly and decided to stop by the food trucks. This truck is located across from the pizza truck near the red tables. Quickly glazed at their menu and decided for the traditional ground beef with chimichurri. Waited only a couple minutes and it was done. Very tasty and loved the sauce. I overheard someone ordering the cheeseburger empanada and I thought oooh I'll be back for that next time. Get service as the woman working was asking what I ordered from another truck. This food truck hit the road and I was so lucky enough to enjoy their crafted empanadas at the latest Art + Flea in downtown Capitol Modern as this event was just amazing showcasing local artist and businesses of all kinds and here was Tango Argentinian empanadas and yes I knew they'd be there so you know I was excited. I brought my bestie as well on this perfect planned night and we wound down on this chill Friday night as we glanced at the menu listing the featured flavors of the night where you can get a single for $6 or three for $15 so you know we got the three and two chimichurri sauce for $1 each she chose the Beef while I chose the Asparagus & Mushroom and Pork though no chimchurri fries sadly. As it takes a few minutes for our order we browsed and shopped more as I got a drink from La'a Kea Wellness Bar we then went downstairs which there was lots of indoor seating to get cozy and just dove into them. The traditional beef was a flavor explosion beyond what we expected as all the empanadas was filled perfectly and cooked to a light and crisp shell yet totally hot on the inside. I wished I got the pic of the cheese pull it gave as we both didn't expect that and enjoyed it all especially with the chimichurri sauce and glad that we got one for ourselves. I need to give their chimichurri fries a try and make the drive to their food truck cause as these guys was so amazing describing it all to us...great service and food! Thank you! read more

We ordered the 3 empanadas with chimichuri. We chose the traditional beef, spinach & cheese, and grilled eggplant. The chimichurri sauce was an additional $2, it had a nice vinegar-forward flavor that complemented all the empanada fillings. An individual empanada is $6. Our only small complaint was that the chimichurri was served in small a paper cup, which tipped over a bit too easily when we dipped. So it would probably be better to pour it into the empanada instead. The service was good. They mentioned it would be a 5-minute wait for our food, but it ended up taking closer to 15 minutes. The food came out hot and crispy, so it was worth it. Also good to mention that there are two tables with umbrellas in front of the food cart to sit but there are plenty of other tables in the area. read more

Tango Empanadas are a flavorful experience!! I don't normally order vegetarian foods but decided to try the ones here and wow!! All 3 vegetarian options were fantastic!! The food came out fast, service quickly and the setting is in the historic Kahuku Sugar Mill which gave it a rustic ambiance! I highly suggest stopping by for an explosion of flavors!! read more

I decided to stop by and try this Argentinian dish. I had it while in Argentina years ago and wanted to remember that flavor. I stopped and spoke to both sister and brother team and their cute dog. I waited a little bit for the oil to get hot enough to fry the empanadas so in the meantime I was able to talk to them. They are from Argentina so excellent for me to have something so originally from the source! I also noticed that they sell dessert with delicious dulce de leche in between. So I grabbed that too! I bought the beef ones after was recommended to have those. They were fried beautifully and it didn't take that long. My wait was pleasantly shortened by petting their friendly dog :) Once I got them, I took them home and ate them at home. The crunch was excellent and it was still warm inside. The flavor was tasty, but maybe a bit less strong than what I tasted in Argentina. I mean, these recipes must be like all recipes where your family makes it one way and another makes it differently. In the end the empanadas are always empanadas but they taste different depending on who makes it. They were tasty but I think I would have preferred a bit more herbal punch. I have to ask again if the outside of empanadas are usually made with masa instead of a flour mixture. This too was different from what I tried. Don't get me wrong, it was tasty nonetheless. The three little desserts were sweet and the dulce de leche from Argentina is so delicious. I had one with coffee but I kept the other two in the refrigerator since my palate doesn't favor too sweet desserts. I wanted to try them and see for myself since I never tried them before. Please go and support this little business for they have all different flavors and I will go back and try more! They are filling and different so it was good to change my regular same foods that I buy at market. read more

This little food truck off the side of the road packs a punch with flavor and portion!!!!! We got the combo of 3 empanadas, fries + chimichurri sauce and it was BOMB. Food was so good we got the 3 pack empanadas combo with the chimichurri fries. Fries were perfect, crisp outside fluffy inside. Chimichurri drizzle added the perfect amount of flavor, and didn't make the fries soggy at all. The service was great! Juli was super nice and high energy definitely makes you want to try the food even more! We chose the beef, pork and spinach and cheese options. Some of the biggest empanadas we've had, and all were so good. Crispy outside and the fillings had so much flavor! No way I'm the first review! I saw the truck in passing one day and wasn't able to go, but today they were in Waialua again! I got the traditional beef and the cheese & spinach empanada. You get 2 for $10. Nice flaky and hot dough. They came paired with what I believe was a chimichurri sauce. I DUNKED the empanadas in it. They were flavorful and really delicious. Lucas was the person who served me and he was very kind! It was very quick service. In all, I enjoyed my first visit and will be there again when I'm in the mood for a snack.
