My friend and I visited this vendor when we went to the food truck park in Waikiki. My friend was instantly drawn to them as they had a grill set up. He boldly went up to the vendor and asked for a sample which I embarrassingly looked away but he was given a piece (hey, closed mouths don't get fed) and he was immediately set on getting something from here. He got the ribs plate, I was $35 and came with salad, rice, and fries. It took a while for it to be ready, like 30 minutes, but I do understand as when it came out, it was literally a GIANT rib piece. He cut the meats off the rib and started nawing on it like a cave man. It was a very enjoyable experience for him, although, it was clear that the meat was a bit chewy and tough. The chewiness and toughness was a big let down for sure, as for all the meat that he cut off from the bone, they were all very hard to eat. HOWEVER, it was very flavorful, so I guess it is the trade-off from the way they smoke/cook it. We also added a chorizo, it was flavorful and juicy, obviously much easier to eat. The fries were good, some pieces soaked up the meat flavor which was yum. The salad was underneath the meat and got sooo greasy I couldn't eat it, the tomatoes were good though. The steak is really tasty. I had the plate and the completo sandwich. Cannot decide which is my favourite between them, both had great elements - the sides for the plate, and the bread is so good for the sandwich. Unfortunately I cannot recommend the ribs. While the flavour was there, the day we got them, it was quite tough to cut and rather chewy which was disappointing. A lot went to waste. Don't forget to add your choice of side sauces on the table in front of the truck! All 3 are excellent. Service is quick. There were so many people lined up for this food truck and they had an interesting display of the meats cooking over a fire. Always been a fan of Argentine food. Had the beef Milanesa Sandwich. The meat was plump, tender, layered with nice tomato slices and a tangy chimichuri. The menu selection is not overpopulated, there's a good assortment of BBQ plates , Chicken, Sausages, Empanadas...pricing is very fair for what you're getting. If you're a meat lover, YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS PLACE. We got the steak plate, ribs, and steak sandwich. The meat was cooked to perfection, was juicy and the ribs melt in your mouth. I went with the recommendation and got all three sauces on my steak sandwich. Hands down the BEST steak sandwich I've ever had! There were fireworks of flavor in my mouth. Can't recommend this place enough. The guys running it are super chill. The perfectly crispy fries and the ambiance were cherries on top. The steaks here are excellent, I've had the Sandwich De Vacio a couple times already. The amount of steak you get is pretty generous and thick if that's to your taste. For me I think it's delicious and cooked to the right temperature. The Chimichuri sauce that comes with it is amazing. After seeing some YouTubers trying the sandwich de vacio, they made it look so good, I told myself the next time I'm on Oahu, that's one of the things I had to try , since I live on the Big Island. I was able to experience the sandwich De vacio this past June at the Kakaako night market, I would rate it a 6 out of 10 ( a little disappointing) for these reasons: seasoned meat was cut to thick, making it chewy and the portion was skimpy ( I think they conservering since I was there early and they wanted to make sure they had enough to last the night) , that said, the things I did like was the sauce they put on the sandwich and the seasoning and smoked flavor of the meat . We were in north shore by sugar mill and the smell attracted us to them. They did not disappoint we did the steak sandwich with chimichurri and spicy mayo, it was a great portion with a generous side of fries.
