I do not recommend using this establishment. They ruined my hair doing highlights. I told the girl I wanted my hair looking "sun-kissed." Needed a hair style change, my granddaughter recommended her favorite, Brandy at Tanglez. The salon is well designed, clean, etc. I basically asked Brandy to cut me shorter and easier to care for and something that didn't look me like the old broad that I am, but nothing cute. The review is for the hairdresser, Caroline, not the entire salon. On this third day since my cut, I hoped my acceptance would have improved. It has not. Each time I look at the cut I did not ask for, I see the many months it will require to grow out my hair from the mangle of layers I was given. And the bangs, which were to be at the eyebrow, cut to the middle of my forehead, and straight across. The length was cut to hit between the middle of the neck base and the hair line. I got a last minute spray tan by Denise. She did a great job. It was quick and painless and I came out with a nice glow. I got the glow tan for $40 which I was able to sleep in until the next morning before washing it off. This is not your typical hair salon because they also do men hair as well! The salon itself doesn't feel high end or anything glamorous. Just looks like an old bar with a bunch of stylist stations. So it was like meh... I went to see Mackenzie Day. She was blonde and immediately I thought ok great, she knows how to deal with blonde because she is blonde herself. I legitimately got out of the shower and sat down and call them and they were able to take me in within 30 mins. I was pleasantly surprised because I was desperate because I had an emergency that needed to get my hair done because I'll be out of town and my stylist couldn't get me in. That should've been your first sign. Unless they had a cancellation, a good stylist is always booked out a month in advanced unless they're like new. So I went in and I was very straight to the point. I want hair that matches my clip in hair which isn't hard to do. I've done it myself for years in high school. I just hate doing bleach on scalp. When I was processing my hair she didn't let the top foil sit long enough so it turned super brassy. Then she kept asking 3 other stylists as to what formulation she should use. That should've been my first sign. Then when she rinsed me out she was like make sure to take a picture of it when it's since since I left the salon with wet hair(I didn't have anywhere to go so didn't need for her to kill my hair even more with heat) I should've known then to run because no stylist is that unsure of wet hair. A good and well trained stylist should know immediately looking at your wet hair and tell you what your hair will look like when it's dry. So turned out my hair was over toned. It's going to take weeks for me to wash this toner off. It made my hair looked even way darker than I walked in right before my important event. So ya... I'm pretty pissed. Then she had the audacity to charge me 170 for base pay and then 30 dollars for every bowl I use. She could've been good with two bowls but she somehow mixed 3 bowls and didn't ended up using it all. In June before Graduation my daughter's and I went to Tanglez to get our Covid cuts. Bethany and Julianna did an amazing job on my hair and my youngest daughter. However, my oldest daughter asked for a one length bob , and because her hair is thick I asked for it to be thinned out ( as I do every time she gets a cut anywhere). Grace her " stylist " did anything but cut a bob. I'll let you see if you think this is a one length to the collar bob. I will say Jenny and Bethany did pitch in and help to fix it they way you see it now. It was a disaster! Please if you go to Tanglez KNOW who is going to cut your hair. My daughter's hair is still uneven as your can tell but I asked them to please stop cutting as it was already horribly too short. I'm just thankful it's summer and that her hair will grow back. I returned to Tanglez after years of not going. I'm very sorry I did. I had the worst hair experience of my life. My hair was horrendously over-processed and the cut was awful. I said I liked longer hair and bangs. She just kept cutting and cutting. I said I liked dimension in my hair. She used only bleach. I had a pre-interview that day and the actual interview the next day--both on camera. She knew that. When I saw the color outcome as it was being styled and dried, I got up and said "This is not working." The bleaching was to my scalp. Any dimension I had was gone. MY HAIR WAS EXCEEDINGLY BETTER BEFORE I WENT TO TANGLEZ. The stylist tried to convince me it was fine. It was not on any professional level acceptable. I went to the desk and waited to check out. The stylist came forward and yelled to the entire salon--"She is not happy with her hair. We don't make people pay who are unhappy with their hair!" Although they did not charge me, I will need to pay a high price to get it corrected. I had to do the pre-interview with the bleached-out blond hair and then added low lights to it that night. It will be a long, long time until it recovers. I trusted Tanglez. The stylist I got was a substitute and before agreeing to it, I asked several front desk people and another stylist point-blank, "Would you let this stylist do your hair." One said "Oh, I love her"--not a "yes" answer. The other person looked at me peevishly and said "yes." Please ladies, let her do your hair, and let's see how it goes. The waiting area is super lux comfy - cushy club chairs and sofas to wait for your spot to begin. The overall design and layout is spacious and fun. For such a large place it's not loud and appears to run like a well oiled machine. This is the first time I've used stylist Missy Moser, and I will be using her again! She is a wiz at her craft. I sent her a photo of what I was thinking about and she responded with enthusiasm. I tried something far outside my comfort zone and she pulled it off like a champ. It's essentially an ombré/balayage that is red hot! Perfect for the spring! You know it's good when you have a parade of the other stylist walking behind your chair oohing and aaaahhhhing. Would not recommend this salon!!! Why would anyone go to a business that CHOOSES NOT TO STAND BY THEIR SERVICES and has a LACK OF CONCERN for customer satisfaction and retention? As a new client, I requested a stylist who specializes in balayage and long, wavy hair. They scheduled me with one of their "Balayage Specialists" and I ended up with blended partial highlights (not balayage), and a very basic haircut. (I requested (i.e. piecey, dimensional balayage highlights and shared over a dozen photos of my hair and others). Since I paid more for balayage (spending $250), I called and spoke with their manager, Jenny, who agreed to make it right. We scheduled an appointment for April 27 based on her and my availability. Unfortunately, due to a family emergency and additional traveling, I had to reschedule to May 25. When I arrived on May 25, Jenny acknowledged and agreed that I did not get Balayage (higher priced), but actually received blended highlights (lower priced) and that the layers in the cut were not connected, acknowledging the poor cut and incorrect highlight. She proceeded to consult about what she would do to correct it and then, as we were ready to start, she proceeded to tell me it will be $245 for a new cut and color. Despite the $250 I had already spent. You can imagine my shock and surprise, especially after she promised to make it right at no charge when we spoke on the phone. Apparently when I rescheduled my appointment to May, their promise to make it right dissolved. However, this was not communicated in any way when I rescheduled. When I arrived she said corrections must be done within 7 days and I missed that window, which is also odd because initially when we scheduled the correction appointment for the 27th, she said it would be better when applying highlights a second time to wait 2 weeks. Donnie, who was in the salon at the time finally offered a "cut and condition" but the issue was not the cut as much as it was the highlights and at this time my desire to stay and pay for anything was quickly dwindling. Both Jenny and Donnie were truly apathetic about my overall experience and frustration. Understandable, every business needs policies in place to protect themselves from being taken advantage of, as some people will do. However, it's critical that when people are scheduling or rescheduling appointment times that this be communicated upfront. Very misleading and minimal concern for client satisfaction. Disappointing! I certainly didn't expect a "no charge" correction, but neither did I expect to pay the same full price all over again. Unfortunately, a bad feeling with this place! read more

Trent is such a great stylist. If you're looking for a cut, color, or just want to do a whole new look, he's great at it. He will talk to you about what you're having done and if you're like me getting color done, he will explain the process and have a good time while doing it. Some places you go they just slap the color on and it's awkward for the time there... But not at Tanglez. Trent makes great conversation and he is all around genuine. I normally "Play it safe" and do the same ol style that I've always had and I wanted to do something completely different and now I have a whole new makeover! After getting my hair done I've had multiple people stop me while shopping giving me compliments and everyone on social media is sharing the love of my new style. So stop by and see Trent and I promise you'll have a blast! The salon atmosphere is also great. You can tell that the staff loves coming to work. Made a same day appointment with Marcella for a brow wax and tint. I was greeted very professionally and the environment was very clean and organized. Marcella was very knowledgable and friendly and explained everything she was planning to do. I've had trouble finding someone who knew what I wanted but Marcella knew exactly. I was having trouble with some eyebrow hair shedding and she knew exactly how to shape and tint so you could never tell. I left feeling like a different person. Great customer service, great price, horrid haircut and no styling. Male haircut by Brandon mid January 2017 Tangelz was able to fit me in the same day on a Saturday. I requested not to be booked if the hair dresser would feel rushed as I didn't want them to do a bad job. The receptionist advised it was okay and that the price for a cut and style was $25. Tangelz then called me back to cancel stating that there was confusion about the appointment and requested I rebook. I didn't want to rebook, so I thanked them for their time and was going to look elsewhere when they advised it was OK and they'd keep my appointment as planned. I wasn't really bothered by this. The receptionist was friendly, she said they were very busy and these things sometimes happen. I was held up 5min due to slow service at a restaurant (I waited 20min for my bill). I called ahead and advised I would be 5-10min late and understood if they couldn't fit me in as I knew they were busy. The receptionist advised it was fine. When I arrived I was kindly greeted and didn't have to wait long. Brandon was very polite and considerate. I showed him a picture of exactly what I wanted ( I've had this cut before). I showed him the hairstyle multiple times and a picture of myself when I got this cut before. He seemed to understand. Unfortunately I left with an undercut (like a style from the 1930s) and some gel in my wet hair, no styling. The photo I showed Brandon that I wanted was clearly with someone with curls and no undercut. I don't know if there was some miscommunication about 'styling' my hair. I don't know why the haircut I got did not resemble the one I asked for (and have had before). My partner was waiting for me while I was getting my hair done. When she saw it she was very shocked because it was nothing like the photo. Since Brandon cut it too short, there is nothing to be done but grow it out. My partner did say that the staff was very friendly to all of the customers while she waited and many of them were very happy with their hair. In sum we would try this place again. We will clarify what we are paying for (style or leave with wet hair) and be more forthright about how we want our hair to look (although I'm not sure what is better than showing a photo). I had never gotten a spray tan before, and a friend recommended Tanglez to me. I could not have been happier with the results of both sessions! An extremely natural looking and even tan. I was super nervous bc I'm new to the area and didn't want someone I've never been to before messing up my hair. I haven't gotten highlights in years but I was INCREDIBLY pleased with Savannah.
