Friendly and good service from the girls and clean. The last 2 locations I was a member at didn't pressure selling you products ever, ever. If there is a display of products and you see a customer try one, you need to let the customer know it's not a tester instead of making them purchase it. That part was really not okay, even though you did offer a fresh new unopened box. Remember ladies, the customer is always right as someone who owns franchises of their own like this one. I wouldn't be happy knowing my staff makes sales this way and also argue back a bit when the customer says it's not okay. I won't be buying product from here anymore and may even cancel my membership due to the poor quality beds and bulbs being out in 2 different beds 2 days in a row. I am a nice person so I purchased the display cream just to avoid conflict but not leaving happy today. Came in after seeing on Tiktok they had a free promotion for a first free tan. I'd never had a spray tan before so I wanted to try it out. The promotion was also on their website and was scannable I'll insert a pic. They said I could only use it if I paid for a $50 membership or a one time $35 fee which was not listed in fine print or anywhere. Just so you know that their rules is that you have to purchase an additional add-on with every Tan such as a bronzer or a scent. These run anywhere from 6 to 8 dollars per Tan. Personally, I do not like any of the additives because the basic color looks the best on me. I just want others to know that there are hidden costs to this monthly membership. read more

I stopped in here for just one session. There was a young girl at the counter and I was asking about single sessions. She told me the beds were $35, $24 and $12. I asked if there was a price for a first time or a half off and she said no. She didn't explain anything else to me nor did she care at all about me being there. I asked to do the $12 bed and she said "it doesn't work". I told her I appreciated her honesty about ir but why do the even advertise this bed if it doesn't work. It was quite clear that they are saying the top beds. She would have rather me not spend any money at all than do the one bed. That's pretty sad. Completely insane prices and rude staff. I tried to go in today 9/19/2021 around 2 pm and they were closed. I made sure to look at the tanning hours online prior to driving all the way from Hampstead to this location. And once again it's closed. It's entirely to often that this happens at this location with no note on the door or any reasoning. I just bought my membership this evening at the Monkey Junction Location. By far the best experience in a tanning salon I've ever had thanks to Tina! She helped me choose the best tanning package for me by explaining each level flawlessly and helped me pick out a great tanning lotion that felt wonderful on my skin. She also answered a million questions I had about each product they offer and tanning routines. She was super sweet and was transparent about the whole transaction. I went here with my friend to get a spray tan for a trip. First of all, they were advertising mystic for $9.95, but then we had to pay an extra $5 for the medium cartridge... did not understand this? My friend and I both got what we though was a medium mystic in the ultra hd booth. I'm not sure what the girl at the front did- either did not insert the cartridge correctly or the booth had been broken- but we basically paid $20 to come out looking just as pale as we went in. If we would have had time before our flight the following morning, we would have went in and asked to be resprayed or refunded. The employees might need another lesson on how to operate the mystic booth. That being said, all of their beds did appear to be super nice. It's just unfortunate this girl completely messed up something as simple as a mystic spray tan booth. read more

I was very displeased when one of the staff members was clearly inebriated and asked for my name three times upon check in and was wavering around. For the most basic of packages they require a scan of your finger print and credit card information. Without the credit card info the charge an additional $20 to the package price. The basic beds are pretty weak. I had a gift card for several hundred dollars and it has gotten me two months of tanning on one of their cheaper packages and a bottle of lotion. Had been tanning at Tropical Tans for 20 years went to the monkey junction location and it was closed and said to go to Ultra Tan. So I went to Ultra Tan where I started by filling out the yellow medical paper and when I asked a question she told me told me it doesn't matter what you write on there we don't look just put you have no skin conditions. Then I proceeded to tell her I needed a spray tan for my parents funeral. Went and got spray tan. Woke up it was horrible went back they said they'd spray tan me again I said I don't think that's a great idea. We promise it's going to be great so let's Flash the 9 the next morning at my parents funeral and I'm glowing orange my hands that I covered with the cream are glowing. Don't go to Ultra Tan stay at your tropical Tans locations. I payed for the most expensive package so I could lay in the best beds. However, to say I've been disappointed and overpaid for a service is an understatement. Beds are either down with bulbs out, not maintained with broken radio, nasty stained floors etc. If you like to overpay for a dirty, broken down place to tan, Ultra Tan is for you. I've already cancelled for next month and will go back to Sun Tan City where the beds are really Level 6 beds (and they have more than 1) new, maintained and hygienic floors I'm not afraid to go barefoot on (don't dare use the spray tan booth here). Even though Sun Tan City is further out of the way for me, you get the quality of service you pay for there. read more

This place is the PITS. It's filthy dirty, the beds are weak and their corporate policies are questionable. There have been, on numerous occasions, buckets all over the entrance to catch water when it rains and it smells of mold. There are a number of other tanning studios in town so I would HIGHLY recommend giving this place a pass. The only reason I am giving it one star is because the woman at the desk is pleasant. I switched to this salon for its location. I wish I had never switched my membership at the other salon! I only do sunless tanning, and half the time I go to Ultra Tan (after going to the trouble of showering and exfoliating), their Mystic machine is out of order. They have only compensated me once in the last year, and that was when the Mystic was out of commission for nearly a month. It's almost like you need to call before you go to see if the machine is in order that day! It's ridiculous. I'm currently looking for another salon. read more

Very disappointed very dirty. Floors had not been vacuumed swept or mop. Bathroom was dirty and I mean disgustingly dirty. They cut the time back on the tanning machines from 12 minutes to 8 minutes on the other machine they cut it back from 15 minutes to 12 minutes. Bertha has always been a 15-minute bed when it was tropical tans. And the Matrix has always been a 12-minute bed when it was tropical tans. Sorry to say but worst tanning salon in town. Tropical Tans was the best and we're going to miss them. Tropical Tans was very good to the customers had drinks form clean beds clean floors clean rooms had mirrors on the walls just to name a few things. And they also had music now all you can hear his fan and other people talk and very disappointed. I mean so quiet you could hear the girl in the Next Room putting tanning lotion on pretty sad very disappointed will be finding another tanning salon and not to mention how overpriced they are unbelievable.
