The ambiance was not as fun as I would have expected but of course the crowd determines that. Took some time to get greeted, drinks, and (complimentary which is a nice touch) bread and butter. Good news bad news that because that took some time our dinners came out almost immediately afterward. The Michigan Salad was good but overpriced at $18 especially when that doesn't include chicken. Asked my husband if it was as good as the last one he had at a neighborhood grill and the answer was no. So 3 stars there. 3 stars also for the chicken picatta. Chicken piccata is my favorite dinner dish so I've had it at quite a few places. This one just didn't have much flavor. The chicken was cooked to perfection and the asparagus was great, but the piccata sauce just wasn't it. Neither were the mashed potatoes. Good portion and overall good dish, just doesn't compare in flavor to other restaurants. The owner (I assume) came by every time to ask how things were which is always very much appreciated. The live music was great, patio beautiful. Inside which we saw on our way out looked much livelier with sports on. We'll definitely go back and sit inside to enjoy a game! As we left we were thanked for coming by two different people at the door. It's always fantastic when this happens.....when you feel like your patronage is appreciated you'll go back again and again. :)

There is so much to look at in here and I love the big open dining room. They do live music Wednesday - Saturday from 7-10 pm and have a beautiful outdoor patio. I got the pork tenderloin dinner which was served with mashed potatoes and green beans. My daughter got the Cajun Alfredo and was able to substitute regular grilled chicken to suit her palate. Everything was delicious and came out quickly. I will definitely come back again .

I was lucky to score a parking spot directly outside the restaurant, but I noticed that there is a private lot behind it. There was a line at around 9, as expected, but it moved quickly. I felt welcomed as soon as I entered. Was it the small size? The convivial and family-oriented atmosphere? The friendly servers? The brunch menu includes the usuals, Benedicts, omelettes, pancakes, and waffles, as well as house specials. I typically go for Benedicts because I've never mastered poaching eggs. And if I see crab cakes or lobster, I know immediately what to get. So, of course, the Crab Cake Benedict grabbed my attention. It came with country potatoes, grits, or tomatoes. Incidentally, the country potatoes were the best I've ever had. Unfortunately, the crab cake was just too breaded for my liking. I also went with a biscuit and some country gravy--thumbs up for both. The ricotta scramble on thick toast, accompanied by a cup of fresh fruit, and the avocado scramble both looked fantastic. Service was quick and friendly.

They have so many options to choose from, and everything was delicious and fresh. The second time I went, though, I wasn't quite as impressed. I'm not sure if there was a different chef that day, but the food in general, for both myself and the others I was with, just wasn't as good as the first time. It was still good, but the flavors weren't quite as impressive. The eggs were also pretty runny the second time (not the ones pictured). I'd definitely love to see a little more consistency between visits! The service was great both times, and sitting on the patio was such a nice addition to the experience. A few things I'd also love to see are more drink options, including more flavors and specialty coffee options, as well as decaf espresso and a bigger selection of pop. Even with the second visit not being quite as great, I still loved it enough to want to come back. It's definitely become one of my top brunch spots!
