I highly recommend taking your shoe repair needs to Gus's Shoe Repair. I brought in some tango…read moreshoes that needed new heels and some boots that I wanted to see if I could save. I love the gentleman who works the counter. His customer service is 5 stars. He is also funny and easy to talk to. I appreciated that he was transparent about not being able to fix my boots long term. We were able to switch out the heel part of my dance shoes though. This cost me $17 to replace and took a little under two weeks to pick up. I paid up front. This is located close to downtown. I live nearby so walked, but there is some street parking around. If you want an affordable spot with honest and kind people, I recommend coming here.

I then gave them another pair of shoes for heel replacement because I was happy with my first pair. If you need shoes, boots, or buffing out of your shoes then I highly recommend this shop. Btw, you do need to pay them for services beforehand. I wear my shoes until the heels wear out and then have them replaced because comfort trumps fashion.

I had a great shopping experience at Rider. Ron and Lisa helped me pick out and try on several…read moredifferent pairs of boots. I wasn't sure I was going to buy, more just looking. Ron found a unique display shoe that caught my attention, but when he brought the actual pair out from the back, I didn't like them as much. Their leathers are all 100% natural (no chemicals) so the colors can differ from pair to pair. I told Ron I liked the heel piece darker, the way the display looked. Without committing to buy them, Ron took out a polish kit and began modifying the leather by hand, to make them just the way I wanted them. He ended up doing 4 or 5 coats by hand and let them dry overnight. They came out perfect! The shoes themselves are incredibly comfortable and supportive, a very high quality product. The prices are not cheap, but if you compare the quality and unique style per dollar spent, Rider offers a great value play compared to the boot shops you'll find in big cities like Boston or NYC. I highly recommend Rider boots, Ron, and Lisa to anyone in the market.
