I went during the holidays and paid $40pp. The restaurant is quite large and offers ample seating. We didn't have any wait. They give you a seating time limit of 90 minutes. The servers really try to push you to order/purchase drinks upon arrival. The still water on the table is also an additional charge, so don't fall for the bait. We had to request "tap water" specifically multiple times to avoid getting charged for the still water. The buffet itself was good. There was a decent variety and they kept replenishing dishes rather quickly. I enjoyed the made-to-order roti station and the garlic naan in particular. It was fun to try the different curries. Keep in mind the proteins are mostly chicken, with some goat and vegetarian (chickpea, paneer) options. There's no beef or pork. The mains are good, but rather heavy so I had a difficult time eating a lot. The entrees were better than the desserts. Overall, very decent Indian food. It's more worth it if you value being able to sample different dishes/flavours. The servers cleared our plates quickly, but were very slow to fill up our glasses with tap water. While paying the bill, I didn't appreciate how pushy our server was about leaving a five-star review. It made me feel uncomfortable. So here I am leaving my honest experience/review.

Announcing their new Happy Singh restaurant winter 2024

One of the best Indian buffets we have tried in North America so far :-) Great value for around $35 Canadian and something for everyone. Large selection of cocktails/mocktails and other Indian favorites. Great service and fast table turns if you are waiting. Came on Dec 29 and the whole restaurant (and staff) decked out for Christmas decorations and cheer! My wife said the Sag was the best she ever had :-)

Despite the average 3-star rating Tandoori Flame has on Yelp, I think they're better than that. From the outside, they don't look like much. Maybe they took over an old restaurant because the wood looks outdated. The entrance walkway has hanging colorful flower pots but reeked of fertilizer. It was nauseating. The interior is nice. You're greeted by the hostess upon entering, then there is a bar to the right. I think the bar elevates the restaurant vibes. The placemats on the tables are so good. The drinks look really appealing! I took the time to check out the drinks, and they all sound very good. Our server was ok. There was more than one person clearing our plates. The food was good! There was so much variety. The names of the dishes were written on the glass case. I didn't know what everything was, but it was fun to try. They even had a big section for dessert, including ice cream. I would come back! (Also posted on Google)

Pani puri

Overall: 4/5 Great Indian buffet in Mississauga! Not necessarily the best Indian food I've had, but it was good for a buffet! Food: 3.8/5 Pani Puri- I was craving this for a while and loved it but could be just because I've been wanting it for so long! The station where you make it yourself is great because you can also add some yogurt. Butter chicken a normal butter chicken! Great with naan - same with the tandoori chicken. Ambiance: 4/5 - nice Indian atmosphere; also, I liked how they had these special fans to absorb some of the smell of the curries, so the smell doesn't linger on your clothes. Service: 4/5 - friendly staff, nice that they had a station where they also make pani puris for you (or can do it yourself). Would come back if ever looking for an Indian buffet!

We went there for Lunch Buffet on Thursday. Buffet was HUGE! - reminded me of Barbecue Nation in Pune. Paani puri, Soup, 4 appetizer varieties., Pav bhaji, 20 different salad varieties, Biryani, 10 different Entree's , 14 types of sweets, 20 flavors of icecream. And not to forget a full bar! I am sure I still have forgotten a few things! The place is big with close to a 100 tables, there was no wait time, although we did reach late for lunch (2.30pm) Service was fast and everyone was very polite and the food was always warm and being replenished quickly. Food taste was good for a buffet. I am sure it would be better for their Ala Carte ordering. Tha ambiance is very well done!!

They operate on first come first serve basis and don't accept reservations and you have 1.5 hours to finish your food once you're seated. The restaurant is clean and the staff are friendly and do a good job of collecting empty dishes from the tables. But, I dont get charging 12% gratuity for groups of 6+, because I don't see the staff offering extra service to those groups. Paying $45 per person doesn't make sense. They have good variety of Indian dishes including many vegetarian options. They bake fresh bread ans serve it. The chicken tandoori and butter chicken were my favorite. The desserts were delicious and flavorful. I'd recommend adding some non-spicy options for groups that come with kids and they cannot eat spicy food; right now, the only option is feeding them fries and no protein.

I visited the Tandoori Flame restaurant few days back to try their dinner buffet and loved the overall dining experience. There was a large variety of options to choose from including a wide range of Indian food from different parts of the country. For starters I especially loved their Pav Bhaji, Lamb Chops, Chicken Afghani Kebab, and the Chicken Malai Kebab. They also had Chicken Tikka, fresh fruits, Papri, Sukha Panipuri and a few salads for starters. For the Main course there was Biryani, Butter chicken, Butter naan, Prawn, and a few other items including vegetarian options. Coming to the dessert there was Gajar ka halwa, badaam halwa, gulab jamun, jalebi, lemon tart, carrot cake, vanilla cupcakes, and ice cream among a few others. You could also order your own drinks from their menu. The dinner buffet costs $30.99 per person.

I find it very odd that this place isn't rated lower. The selection is lacking and the food itself is abysmal. Watery and flavorless curries, frozen quality naan, several stale dishes, and probably one of the worst dessert spreads I've ever seen at any kind of buffet. The service is quite good, but the food was bad enough to outweigh it. Would not recommend.

Goat curry
Naveen R.

You have to get the goat curry and pair it with the lachcha paratha if you happen to dine at Tandoori flame. First off, they are pretty generous with the portion of meat they serve in their goat curry. Second, the goat is tender and falling off the bone. Third, yes that's right, they're served as pieces that might be clinging on to bone, so be careful before you crunch down. And remember, bone means flavor, so get over it. The lachcha paratha is flaky and layered do perfection with great creased pockets to hold that delicious gravy as you pop it into your mouth. The chicken biryani was not the best I've tasted. I wish the rice wasn't as moist (soggy) as it wouldn't be in a typical biryani which has layers of dry and masala, and also the meat itself was lacking seasoning and flavor. The carrot dessert was moist and flavorful, not too sweet.

50% of the bill, Evian is an issue

Two stars is for the hostess who was polite. On balance with the review. $6 Evian , friend opened it before I noticed it wasn't a bottle of flat water which most restaurants bring to you if you don't ask for anything else like Sanpellegrino ... If given a choice, and Tandoori had it, I would've PAID for Sanpellegrino. Like others have mentioned about the bottled flat water issue, the server needs to INFORM the guest it's a billable bottle of water. The 1.5 hour seating time was ridiculous when we were intentionally early enough to not impede on the guests who would come for 7pm,and later. My preference is to eat at 7pm,and later. Food I knew could be hit,or miss at a buffet I have never eaten at. Especially post COVID drama, people's hygiene was top of mind. I found Tandoori Flame replenished the food slower than I wanted with that imposed time limit. For example, I was not getting my goat, plus lamb without a wait to ONLY get one of the two as my "allotted" time closed in. The roti, I swore there was a hair with the piece I reloaded after the first one that was so fresh, and good. This ruined my meal. Desserts , plus food. I would say AYCE places like: spoon & fork , k&b , Fairmount Gold , Marriott Concierge lounge are better. The server Faraz. In the service industry you ought to know your audience. It dawned on me at the end of the meal when he handed my dining mate the bill he was sucking up to the person he assumed was paying. I was amused at his assumption. I still gave an 18% gratuity for not receiving the "service" directed at my dining mate, for a sort of "okay" buffet where I am serving myself. Another area for a complaint, they preset the gratuity so you would need to deal with backing out of the screen... For an Indian fix. I will pass, and go to a traditional ma & pa spot,or another buffet others rate higher.

Paani puri
Chandan K.

This is Indian version of Chinese buffet place only with much better quality. They have so many items that it's almost impossible to try every single one of it. From chaats to paani puris to many starters, salads, soups, entrees. I liked the Laal maas which is traditional rajasthani goat meat. I think it would be fair to include one complimentary drink for the price they charge for the buffet. I loved their live counters including live tandoori. It's a must try place for someone who liked Indian food and want to try a quality buffet.

It was with this in mind that I decided on the chicken fried rice, with a side of chili chicken. The addition of plenty of green onions perfumed the rice and provided an extra bit of texture with the crunch. I did feel it could have done with an additional sprinkling or two of salt. I generally do not like bell peppers, but the addition of them in the chili chicken dish was not entirely off putting as they were not raw. The dish came with a nicely seasoned and spicy sauce, which was a good accompaniment to the fried rice. The gulab jamun (one piece per order) is bigger compared to what you'd normally expect when ordering this dessert at an Indian restaurant. Loved the addition of the crushed pistachios, which not only added a great contrast in texture, but also imparted its flavor into the syrup. Great, sweet ending to the meal.

They do not leave jugs but our server, Snow, replenished the water for others regularly.. she was friendly, helpful and funny. Since I need vegan and gluten free the only items I could have were the salad without feta, yellow dal without ghee and plain rice. The fam loved the Afghan chicken tikka and paneer item they ordered. My dal was made without ghee as requested but was on the spicy side. The fam shared the chocolate cake and rabri desserts but zero vegan/gluten free dessert items. The decor is lovely and everyone was very professional. The meal was very expensive....well over $400 for 1 alcohol drink, 2 mocktails, 3 apps, 3 mains with 2 rice, 2naan and 1 parantha and 2 desserts. Hopefully you get Snow as your server as she was a delight. There was no DJs or live entertainment the night we went but they do have it on certain nights. It got very busy while we were there with folks of all ages. You can bring your own cake but they charge $5pp to serve it.

I absolutely love this place. Normally, a place that has a massive menu is a bit concerning to me…read moreas it often leads to not really excelling at anything, but that is not the case here in my experience. The reason behind the large menu is related to the aim of the restaurant, which is to showcase the various regional cuisines of India. As a result, don't expect the straightforward menu of: apps, entrees, deserts, etc... rather the menu is divided by cuisine. Aside from honouring tradition, they do offer a couple 'new' takes on some items. If you comb through a few reviews, and certainly the pics, you'll notice a must-order items is the roasted eggplant with pomegranate. It really is like nothing else I've had before and unforgettable in both taste and texture. My group also went with a famous lamb dish as well. I don't remember the name offhand, but it is incredibly soft, well seasoned and nicely spiced dish. We also went with orders of naan, veggie dishes and meat skewers. It's beautifully decorated inside and also has the advantage of being located in a heritage building in what was formerly an estate home nearly 150 years old.
