Real awesome bakery. Very soft and very light cakes. It's not too heavy. They only take cash and the price is normal. For a brand new fresh cake they need at least 2 hours but you can always go and take anything that is pre-made. There also have cake rolls with an average price of $5.5 and they are yummy and even lighter than regular cakes. I also like their ice cream cakes. I've had this place bookmarked for awhile because I wanted to try the taro cake and one day my friend surprised me with a small taro celebration cake! It was not bad but not as good as the taro cake at Cathy's Bakery in San Gabriel or Kiki Bakery in Monterey Park. My biggest gripe about the taro cake was that it had a coconut flavor in the filling, which I don't care for but some other may like. Also, the taro filling is not as smooth as it is at the other bakeries. I did like the fact that they had a small taro cake available (which the other bakeries don't offer). Been to this place for over 10 years. Bread and cakes are soft, tasty, and very light. This means you can eat without feeling guilty of gaining weight if you know what I mean. A slice won't kill you, but since it's good, you keep going until you've eaten half the cake, then I can't help you there. I like their Durian Roll especially their filling. Their Durian Cake must be amazing. They use chunks of real durian and the filling is very light. Today I purchased a typical Asian strawberry cake from them. I was a bit hesitant since the fruits weren't super appealing or super fresh. I was surprised to find out that the cake is actually good. The cake itself was light and fluffy. It wasn't as fluffy as other places I've had but fluffy enough. The cream and strawberry filling was also light and perfectly balanced it terms of sweetness. I LOVE this bakery! Their rolls are probably my favorite thing in the entire planet. My co-workers brought me here to break my horrible diet and it was the best decision ever! I've been coming here for years - especially for their thin sliced white bread. It's super soft and tasty - perfect for sandwiches (just be careful as it tends to mold pretty quickly as they don't use preservatives). The thick sliced white bread is awesome for french toast and for toast with condensed milk. Things I also enjoy: - The 3 packs of pineapple bread (this has no pineapple but I guess the sugar on top looks like a pineapple?), coconut bread (stuffed with sugary coconut that's yellow), custard bread, red bean bread and taro bread for breakfast. - Sponge cake - these are also super soft, light and not that sweet. Another tasty breakfast item. - The mango slice cake and the white birthday cake are the typical Chinese bakery cakes - light and not that sweet. After so many years (10+), they're still my go-to place for Asian cakes. Pudding cakes, taro cake, taro roll, honey roll, bread loaves! Even after going around to a bunch of different Asian bakeries, I still like them better. I always like bakeries that can make a good loaf of bread. It should be the simplest of items in a bakery, but you'd surprised at how many bakeries CAN'T make a good loaf of bread. They even make their wheat bread good, which is what I always get. And if you go there later in the day, it's always gone! Those thing probably fly off the shelves. The cake rolls! I've always loved. The honey cake roll is a classic and nowhere else makes it like them. There are other bakeries that make cake rolls, but the cake part is so rough and the filling is that heavy glob of cream that makes you feel like they just stuck in a slab of butter.. NOT this place though! The taro cake roll is awesome. PACKED with taro filling, and the cake part is still silky smooth and soft. I usually get their taro or strawberry but over the weekend I tried their Black Fruit which is filled with strawberry and pineapple and topped with different fruits was REALLY GOOD! This place always runs out of the pork sung rolls (can't remember the english name to it). Not the one that looks like a football, the one that has the pork sun, mayo, and green onion on it and the bread is layed flat and rolled up and cut. They should make more. I think it's one of the most popular items there. I've already been there a few times after 3 pm and they are ALL GONE!! On birthdays I love to ordere the pineapple and peach half and half cake. This was a major throwback because my parents would always bought all our birthday cakes here when we were younger. We haven't eaten a cake here in 14 years.
