I found this shop tucked away in a strip mall on the near south side of Crawfordsville and was delighted. From the moment I stepped in, I noticed the pleasant aroma of candles and the comfortable appeal of country chic decorations and gifts. The main room has the check out counter facing the door in the center of the room, so you can explore to either side: Lots of candle varieties including some made in state, lots of items with clever witticisms to make you think or smile, women's bags, wall hangings, and seasonal (Easter) pieces to add some charm to your home. And when you think you've seen it all, there is another room to the left that has even more items including rugs, lap quilts, and other cloth items. More seasonal items were out in preparation for the weekend sale. The woman who was working apologized for the store being in transition, but it was still neat enough that I wouldn't have known there was anything out of place unless she had told me. She let me browse and asked how I had heard about the shop. I was surprised that nobody had reviewed her store yet on Yelp. When I was ready to make a purchase, she immediately stopped what she was doing so that I didn't have to wait. That's a person who gets customer service. My Mom needed to go to the bathroom so we walked towards the back and there was a lady in a little office with the door open. She said, with an attitude, you can't be back here! I said, I'm sorry we were looking for the bathroom? She said, we don't have a public bathroom! I asked if my Mom could please use theirs and she said No! You can walk down to the end of the block to the laundry mat and use theirs! I said, she's 91, I don't think she can make it that far. Sorry she can't use ours! I took mom to the car, got her wheelchair, wheeled her to the laundry mat and got her to the bathroom. The other people in the store heard the manager and were appalled! I understand that they have rules, but sometimes they need to have an ounce of compassion for someone who can barely walk, who's close to a century old! This is just wrong! The manager's name is Tabitha Kosch, who is pictured on their website, holding her certificate for life coaching, claiming that she maintains the highest clinical, ethical and Biblical standards. I think they need to re-examine who they are putting into their management positions! As long as she is there, me and my entire family and all of our friends will not enter this store again!

If you need kitchenware, vintage items, craft supplies, tchotchkes, furniture, decore, jewelry, etc... this is a great place to shop. All proceeds benefit women needing assistance. We stop in as often as possible because there is such a turnover of goods. The prices are reasonable, staff and volunteers are always, polite, friendly and professional. My only improvements for them would be to have a bigger building ( I know this is not possible now) and to be open on Saturdays, but I understand this store is mainly ran by volunteers. If you need to downsize and donate items, I strongly suggest you take your gently used goods to this thrift store. They do NOT take clothing, which is a nice change for a resale shop. Stop in but remember they are closed on the weekends as far as I know. They do have a Facebook page.

Probably my best ever find was a brand new espresso machine with a milk frother that was ten bucks. This is the only thrift store in Kankakee county where you actually have a chance of finding vintage clothes as well. I haven't bought furniture from here but they always have it at eleventh-hour garage sale prices.

However, this makes me feel like you would get a good deal on your items if you had something to sell her though. If you like vintage, it's worth a stop in. If you're wanting to sell anything vintage, she take anything early 1990s and before, including sports and military. So clean out your/your parents closets and head on over.

We were wandering around Fountain Square and came upon this irresistible window and had to go in and check it out. I am so glad that I did. Like most Vintage shops there isn't much the bigger woman but the clothing accessories are such a treat to look at and enjoy. Places like this make me want to put on a play set in the past and go to town in this shop outfitting everyone. The clerk was very welcoming and knowledgeable. The displays in the store were very cool as well. We will definitely be back.
