I am really simple wIth my nails but wanted to try something a little bolder, so when I came in and showed her a picture of natural ombré nails she nailed it so much I won't be trusting anybody else going forward. Tammy is so rude. She calls day of my appointment, saying she can't take me at my scheduled time and asks me to come in a half hour from then. So I scramble to rush through what I'm doing, get there, just for her to not even recognize me and then make me wait 20 minutes. When she finally sits down with me, she refuses to do the design I wanted (a Mickey Mouse head on each nail). My whole day thrown into chaos and rearranged for nothing. I walked out. My nails turned out horrible and I kept saying something during the whole process. My nail tech (Annie) just kept saying "later,later" to the things that were upsetting me. Then cut me pretty badly, and it bled for a while and she kept spraying it with alcohol which clearly burns a lot. Plus it was kind of pricey for just a no chip on my natural nail. I was frustrated so I paid and left but my sister made me walk back in and complain to Tammy who says she's going to fix them but, I haven't gotten the call to come back when she has time yet. So I don't know if that will happen since they closed an hour again. read more

**UPDATE** So, after washing my hands with this place, Tammy reached out and asked for me to come back to her salon back in December (my review was from September 2017). I said no because I am simply done. I thought this situation was over, but now (April 2018) they're trying to get me to remove my review because it's true. They delete honest reviews to keep their image up just to disappoint customers daily. I have attached their messages to show. I will NOT be deleting my review. I stopped coming here because the service declined so bad and their equipment just wasn't up to date. I decided to come in today for a basic pedicure after hearing they'd done a remodel. Everything went fine until the guy took my payment. The basic is listed at $26 and he charged me $36. When I corrected him, he went "oh sorry" but didn't act one bit sorry and said there was nothing he could do to fix the credit charge. THEY ARE SCAMMERS. I will never be back, there are so many other salons in the area that charge around the same and offer a better experience. Do not waste your time on this dump. read more

I've gone back a few times and they actually remember me which is always so surprising to me. This time Tammy did my nails and the other gentleman (David? I think) did my friends nails. I've started to do the dip nails ever since Christmas. For me, they last a full three weeks. I can't go longer than that without too much regular nail growth but since I keep my nails shorter its perfect. I tried something different with style and I really like it. It was $42 dollars which is a lot when trying to keep expenses down but it since I can last 3 full weeks I only average about once a month which is much easier to maintain. I've only ever walked in and have been able to get helped usually within 10-15 min if someone's before me. I think the part I like most though, I'm never rushed to leave. Oh! They do take credit but I reccomend having cash to pay. They prefer it too! read more

Love this shop. They have innovative nail treatments and are the most reasonably priced services across Fox Valley. The latest thing is "dipping nail color". Love it. Goes on quickly and fills so light on your fingertips. read more

UPDATE 6/7/18 Not only did they delete my initial Facebook review, it seems that Tammy is set on having her "loyal" customers bombard me with messages over my Facebook review. Granted it's the internet, so that should be expected. But the fact that you can't take an honest review of someone's experience at your salon is pretty sad. It seems this establishment would rather delete reviews to continue to "look good" instead of working on their customer service. Worst experience ever. My mom went to Tammy Nails a few weeks back to get a fill because her go to nail technician at another salon was booked. The woman (Tammy) who did my mom's nails made rude comments about her nails out loud for everyone to hear. The comments ranged from her nails looking really bad to she thought my mom had fungus under her nail (which she did not, the nail was just lifiting). She not only made my mom uncomfortable but she embarrassed her. As nail enthusiasts we were very disappointed with the customer service. Not at all the way you should treat any customer, especially a new customer. At 37 years old, getting my nails done for over 20 years, I will never go anywhere else. She took her time and was perfect working through my vague requests. My nails are absolutely lovely. I went here 3x for no-chip manicures. The first two times a young girl did it and the result was beautiful. The 3rd time Tammy did it, and I was blown away by how horrible the whole experience was. She did a sloppy job. The polish didn't go all the way to the edges of the nail, and she left my hands under the UV lamps so long that they *literally* freckled and burned. Also, she charged me more than the younger girl had the previous two times. I will never go back. I had the botched job done here on my birthday and it was really disappointing. read more

I had gone to Tammy Nails for years, every 2 weeks for mani/pedis. The last time I was there I found that I had a fungal infection on both of my big toes. The left one was HUGE and encompassed the entire nail bed and the right one was covering half of the nail. Going every 2 weeks, why did no one notice it the time before??? If they had, perhaps it wouldn't have been so bad! Of course, this all occurred in May, with the summer months ahead of me. No great looking feet for me! The fact that Tammy didn't care enough about the health of my nails is so much of a turn off that I'll never go back! I'm going to A & O nails and they are so much better! read more

I used to go to Tammys faithfully in high school for full-set/fills and pedis. When I returned to the area I started going back again. Tammy has an attitude problem and has very poor customer service. even to people who have been going their for 10+years! The last time I got a pedi some guy did it and cut my cuticles up! They were bleeding for DAYS! Fu the young girl is very nice and does a great job. I loved my experience at Tammy Nails. I went there 15 days ago for a no chip manicure and Tammy did a fabulous job! It still has not chipped and it is not even peeling at the base. Her prices are the best I have seen in the Fox Valley area and I cant wait to go there again tomorrow to get my no chip fulled in. I haven't even heard of other salons filling in a no-chip before. Tammy took me and started the mani before finishing a customer that was already in the chair, customer did not mind as she was waiting for her nail polish to be taken off. I have been going to Tammy Nails in North Aurora for many years. I have always had the most friendly, professional treatment there. Tammy has new, innovative nail options that are really great for not chipping. I've had the gel "no chip" many times. Today I tried the "Dip" style. Love it. It's very lightweight feeling and guaranteed to take all the abuse I give my nails. They look so pretty! My feet are always a mess when I go in, but when I leave they are baby soft and callous free. I've been here many times and have always been treated well and had a good job done. While I agree Kate is amazing, I have had other people do a good job too. I think a lot of theses negative reviews (especially the ones mentioning other shop names) come from other salon owners or employees looking to boost their own sales. Got a full set done & the service was okay. My nails look nice. Not exactly how I wanted but that's fine. My sisters nail broke within a few hours though but they fixed it for free. If I could give no stars I would. Please be advised with this salon. I am pretty easy going, have had my nails done for years, acrylics, gel, manicures, everything you can imagine done on my nails. I have given Tammy Nails several trys, just for something so basic as no chip manicures, sometimes not even the manicure and just do a no chip paint job. My mom and me have always made appointments but they never are on time, don't EVER honor appointment times, they are all over the place, horrible customer service. There have been times I have an appt and go in and sitting waiting for 30 min. That was the last time. The only one who can do nails good is owner Tammy, and she will come off very rude, snobby, etc.... There is a young girl there too but she is ok, and just is told by Tammy what to do. Prices are always inconsistent, they are crooks. DO not go there, DO not make appointment, and expect the worst. read more
