Everyone has bad experiences with breeders - my sister once bought a yorkie from a breeder to only have to pass away shortly after she took it home. Don't judge a breeder by one or two bad reviews but do your own due diligence.

During his stay, I received updates about his progress with training. The facility itself was clean, spacious, and smelled fresh--always a good sign in a boarding environment. What impressed me most was how happy and relaxed my dog was when I picked him up. He wasn't stressed, anxious, or overly tired--instead, he seemed like he'd been on a vacation of his own. His bedding was clean, his food portions had been managed exactly as instructed. Im glad I found a great place for dog training and boarding as well as sitting in Mukilteo. A blond woman was opening the van to put a large dog in while cursing and yelling. After smacking numerous dogs and telling them to get back, she shoved the dog she had leashed in the van and yelled "I'm sick of this shit!" As a long time dog owner, I've never felt it necessary to smack a dog around for any reason. It's counterproductive to their learning experiences and only builds fear or aggression. Screaming at a dog will also give you those results. For a business that advertises "Fun, freedom, friends, places to go and butts to smell", you'd think they'd be kind to their furry clients. Just a heads up to anyone considering this service. It doesn't look like the human in charge has her head on straight.

With a newborn and a 2-year-old, we wanted to be proactive with training. A family friend highly recommended Kate, and even though we had to drive from South Hill to Renton/Issaquah, it was 100% worth it. Our only regret is not finding her years ago for our previous dog! Unlike other trainers we spoke with who don't allow kids, Kate welcomed our entire family and was incredibly flexible with scheduling. She was so patient with us, even if we lagged on homework between sessions. While other trainers pushed rigid rules like keeping dogs off furniture, Kate listened to what we actually wanted (a well-mannered family dog who can still snuggle with us on the couch) and helped us achieve it. Instead of just teaching dogs to ignore the world, Kate's format of a couple of 1:1 sessions followed by group training and off-leash walks offered real, safe socialization. Kona learned to interact nicely with all kinds of dogs, and we know we can keep her safe if an aggressive dog ever approaches us. Thanks to Kate, Kona is fully off-leash trained! We just spent a week on vacation where she was off-leash the entire time. She sticks right by us, was an absolute angel around a crowd of toddlers and babies at our son's 3rd birthday party, and constantly gets compliments from our neighbors. Even if our toddler accidentally opens the front door, we don't panic because Kona will stay close and come right back in. There are more things Kona can learn, but now we feel like we can achieve that using what we've learned from Kate. One thing that became obvious about Kate is how much she cares about dogs, and her generosity towards them. She does not limit sessions because a successfully trained dog will have a better life, and that's clearly what she wants. Kona is going to live a much richer, happier life because of this training.
