I'm writing this review because I'm surprised to see the negative reviews. I myself bought two puppies from Mikelle a little over 6 years ago. Two maltipoos - I had several pleasant interactions with her before I got my two boys. I love my two boys. I hope it's not true and she is still breeding dogs because I truly love both of my dogs they are wonderful dogs and very special. Everyone has bad experiences with breeders - my sister once bought a yorkie from a breeder to only have to pass away shortly after she took it home. Don't judge a breeder by one or two bad reviews but do your own due diligence. read more

After 4 years, I look up her name occasionally to see if there are any other reviews and to let people know to stay as far away as you can from the owner, Mikelle Mcfarland, of Paddington Pups! Got my puppy from her, she died 8 hours later. It's just shameful she is ripping people off and causing them so much pain! read more

UPDATE: According to recent reviews, it appears Mikelle McFarland (aka Paddington Pups) did deliver some families puppies. We were *not* one of the lucky ones. In fact, so many "customers" of Mikelle's were defrauded, the Snohomish County Animal Control recently stepped in and filed a suit against her. Initially Mikelle claimed she would appeal the lawsuit; however, once she saw the long list of her defrauded victims, she withdrew her appeal.  Her breeder's license has now been revoked by the county and her website is offline (at time of this posting). **All of this is verifiable as part of public Snohomish County record** (http://snohomishcountywa.gov). As part of a public records request for Mikelle McFarland you will see all of the lawsuits against her, not just for puppy fraud. She owes significant sums to many individuals and businesses. The county cannot prevent Mikelle from legally owning a pair of dogs and if they happen to breed she could sell more puppies, and/or pretend to sell them. I would advise against supporting Mikelle's business for ethical reasons and out of respect for the sheer the number of individuals she cheated and falsified stories of an adorable puppy, photos and all, suddenly dying mysteriously, followed by her refusal to refund the thousands of dollars they had paid (this same story has repeated itself time and time again--all included in the public record request). We are glad to hear not everyone was subjected to the same heart-wrenching experience that we were, and I am sorry to the families that were. I hope this is the end of Mikelle's activities but I am concerned she may continue to operate and something tells me this is not the end of her illegitimate activities; she has a long history of fraud (according to aforementioned public record). I picked up my Maltipoo Darlynn in Snohomish almost 5 yrs ago and she is wonderful. She had no adjustment issues and was very trainable and smart. She is a great companion. Thanks again Mikelle! read more

I bought my dog Bundy almost 10 years ago from Paddington Pups. He's a Shih tzu/Maltese mix. I can't remember exactly but I think he was $600. She let me come over to her home to meet him when he was around 6 weeks old then I picked him up from her son a few weeks later. I was a vet tech and now work in pet insurance so he's always received the best care, he had roundworms when I got him which is totally common with puppies. Otherwise no issues until he was 6 had some urinary stones that resolved with a special diet and then a torn ACL because he loves playing fetch and runs hard. He's friendly, gets along with other dogs and cats and is good with my kids. Cant say anything about how her recent transactions may be going but I'm happy with my boy and think he has many more good years to go. read more

Our pup is now almost 4 years old, and after doing a lot of reflecting, I'm pretty sure she may not be an ethical breeder. (Confirmed by a couple of reviews that are HUGE red flags for puppy mills.) several red flags that we didn't know about at the time- weren't able to select from a litter or meet before picking up the dog, she wanted to meet us in a parking lot of a pet store instead of her place, etc. she says on the website it's because they had a case of disease go through the pups, but it's easy to just say that. I don't know, I just don't get a good feeling looking back and if we ever got another dog I definitely wouldn't pick this breeder. our dog was healthy when we got it but seemed skittish around men. Could just be a personality thing, but he's still afraid of men. He also now has inflammatory bowel disease, which I know is common among poodles but again, is it because of something with the breeding/genetics? I don't know. He's such a sweetie and our best friend but I wouldn't recommend this place. read more

The purported owner, Mikelle McFarland, also goes by Miki Broderick, who sometimes sells under her own name or My Paddington Pups website is someone to avoided at all costs. I have nothing good to say about this breeder or her business practices. She took my money, $1950, and never gave me the pup which I had to pay full price for in advance. A week before I was to pick up the puppy I was told that the puppy had died. She promised me a refund and then never paid me. I won a judgement against her for entire amount in question but I am still unable to collect from her as she is a professional at taking people's money. Line up for your lien if you have an issue and she owes you money. There are plenty of people in front of you. This is not the first time she has been taken to court for ripping people off. People should be warned and stay away from Mypaddingtonpups and this breeder. read more

I don't typically write reviews. But, my sons were reading some of the negative reviews and encouraged me to write a review for Mikelle. We've never had any pets before and Mikelle was extremely helpful in walking us through the important items we should purchase, which vets she recommends over others, pet insurance, what type of food to purchase and which ingredients to avoid and so much more. Honestly, without her help, we would have been clueless. I'm not sure why one person wrote that she wasn't a breeder. Every time I was on the phone with her (which was many - I tend to have a lot of questions) you could hear the puppies in the background. During our phone calls a few times she had me hold as she resolved an issue with one or a few of the puppies (their water had spilled over, they were barking because someone entered the house etc). Her last name changed because she was once married and now she no longer is. It is common when in this stage to go between married sur names and maiden names. We received the sweetest puppy from her 11/2021. He is such a delight, engaged, smart and extremely loving. He had zero issues adapting into our home. It's sad her site is no longer up. She was a wonderful breeder for us. We wish her nothing but the best. read more

December 2021 we picked up our new Maltipoo puppy from Mikelle. Before we made the trip from S. Oregon I had lengthy phone conversations with Mikelle and was impressed with her helpfulness, knowledge of breeding and how well she knew her dogs and wanted to understand our home/needs. We received a great little happy, healthy, and confident puppy. Even our veterinarian talks about how impressed she is with her temperament and personality and how happy she was with our breeders vaccination schedule. I can't speak to why other people have bashed this breeder. Maybe it's a people problem not a dog problem. I think there is a reason Paddington Pups was listed as a top breeder a couple years back. It appears to me she knows what she is doing and we now have probably the smartest and well balanced little puppy we've ever owned. And we've had several. read more

This review is based on experience that is over 10 years old, so it should be considered a historical account, not a reflection of current experience. We got our boy from Mikelle in September 2012. Like others have noted, she met us in a parking lot and handed us a furball that became the joy of our life. For 10 wonderful years we had an adventurous, wicked smart, well behaved, and unquestionably obedient best friend. Everyone who met him was amazed that he would just walk by us off leash and explore the neighborhood as he saw fit, with zero concern that he would run off without permission. He did develop a luxating patella when he was a few months old, but we did not think much of it since that is a fairly common ailment in small breeds. Looking back there were unusual signs. We were told that we should feed him high protein Blue Buffalo, but he clearly had an upset stomach from it and Mikelle said that her vet had now recommended that we switch him to Royal Canin. Perhaps that was a sign that she is not a breeder but a broker as others have noted. That aside, we were one of the lucky ones, and when our boy passed away from recurring cancer a few months ago, at 10.5 years old, our first inclination was to go back to Mikelle... Which is when I discovered this feedback. If her website was still up I would have handed her money with no hesitation based on the wonderful boy we got from her. Deplorable. Avoid at all costs. We paid Mikelle "Mikki" McFarland full price for a puppy ($1950) only to her tell us it died before we could pick it up. We were deeply saddened as we had already grown attached to the puppy through the photos she sent us, had a name, had purchased everything for the puppy. Over the next 6 months she was unable to replace the puppy with the same type/color we requested a refund, but she replied in an email that she couldn't (despite all the while claiming to still be selling full litters of puppies). Then she simply stopped responding to emails and phone calls. After one last try sending her a letter, we finally had to take her to court. We successfully sued her in court and won, and collected the full amount from her via collections agency--a minor miracle because it turns out she has several lawsuits and claims already against her. She has apparently defrauded several others as well (even one other Yelper has the same exact story about a dog that "died" and she kept the $1950). On the Better Business Bureau website (bbb.org) Paddington Pups has an F rating and there are multiple complaints filed as well as 1 star reviews detailing how she took payment and then gave people nothing, then stopped responding to those people. read more

Mikel told us we could come to the house to see the dogs because she had dogs that got sick from germs or something from people coming to look. She sent us pictures of a little gold poodle and said she would meet us at the McDonald's up by snohomish.She seemed honest and being dog people we trusted her! I mean she is Slick and slippery she took our money cash 1950 bucks which we paid in advance . The Dog wasnt housebroken and we had a terrible time my wife threw her back out and we had to return the dog . Again this time at the park in snohomish . In the contract that we signed she said we would get something back if a problem arouse well I guess you know who reneged on that too ! Plus we bought all kinds of toys and things for the dog which we gave to her because we were sad .She is a con artist who has been sued many times as we found out later.She came across as a nice Catholic lady with kids in school at St Thomas Moore . I think she is from back east .We trusted her and paid the price. She will swindle you she is I believe a broker for a puppy mill ! Find an honest breeder and look her up on the BBB complaints. My wife and I are in our 70s and feel she really took us for a ride. read more

I paid full price for my puppy. The puppy advertised from her website was a Maltipoo. However, as time was closer for my puppy to arrive I was told my puppy was a Morkiepoo. The breeder kept advertising on her website that these were Msltipois . I challenged her as to why her website said one thing and the puppy was not that. She said she made a mistake. I told her, no, you have updated your website since you and I have been communicating about this. She said she was so sorry she had sold me a puppy and felt so bad for my puppy that I was getting her. I met her "son" in Ritzville. He handed me my puppy that had been riding for over an hour in a gift bag. First gift I ever paid $1950 for. When I realized my puppy was put in a sack, it confirmed my worst fears. This person does not handle animals anymore carefully than she handles her word. My dog was smaller than she said and I waited extra time for her to make weight. I was a lucky buyer. I finally did get my Morkiepoo. read more
