Have loved the Tamale Co tamales at the Yelp event at the Science Center and was delighted to see one in College Park. So very scrumptious!! I do love tamales! Jason, the bartender was helpful in suggesting beers and friendly. Food, ambience, and staff all excellent! Will definitely be back!

Colorful and lively looking restaurant with all the strings hanging down from the ceiling. Chicken tamales were soft and warm. Beans and rice was yummy with good flavors. Came during brunch time and it wasn't that busy but waited for a bit longer to place our order in. So many chips with mild and hot salsa. Was so full afterwards. They have different special during the week and would like to check out their taco Tuesdays

Been hearing about this place and decided to try it for lunch. Food came quick & hot! Ordered the Most Mexican. I enjoyed the chicken tamale more than the pork one. The pork was a little dry but will definitely come back to try more things on the menu!

Al away in the look out for Mexican food and tamale delivered. Stopped by for a late brunch (they serve brunch till 3pm). The breakfast burrito hit the spot. It had steak, scrambled eggs, cheese and pico. Loved to see the trio dipper included fresh guacamole. The margarita were perfectly balanced with flavor but not overly strong. Loved their outside dinning. Glad we explored this hidden gem and will be too

John was our server and was very helpful and friendly. His energy really made our experience positive. All the food was served quickly and delicious. I had the carne asada tamales which were very filling. Will return to try more items on the menu.

I had such an amazing experience here. I was out with friends celebrating a birthday, and we decided to stop in for some mezcal. The four of us sat at the bar and were greeted right away. The bartender was quick, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about their selections. They even brought out chips and salsa while we looked over the menu. The place itself is fun, lively, and full of color and music. It's on the smaller side, but the seating is well laid out, and there are outdoor tables as well. Just as we were getting ready to leave, the couple sitting behind us sent over a round of drinks for my birthday. When I walked over to thank them, I learned it was the owner, Jennifer. It was such a thoughtful gesture, not only showing appreciation for a customer, but doing so while simply enjoying dinner with her family, with no expectation of recognition. It truly made the night even more special.

Enchiladas

My wife and I were nearby for Freehand Fest in the parking lot out back, so we went inside for some lunch (and AC). From start to finish, exceptional food and service. We sat at the bar and ordered the Chicken Enchiladas ($18) and the El Tri ($12). Both were fantastic. The green sauce on the enchiladas was perfectly tangy and the pickled red onions were a nice touch. The refried beans were some of the best I've had. $18 seems a little expensive for enchiladas, but they give you a lot of food. Even sharing between the two of us, we weren't able to finish everything. The plating is really nice as well. I ended up coming back a week later during the College Park Jazzfest and had a Tijuana Chipotle Caesar Salad ($12) and Chips & Queso ($7). The salad was really good. I loved the chipotle sauce - I'll probably order that on the side with other dishes in the future. The queso needed to be melted more, but more than adequate for our group of three. Looks like they have some pretty good Marg specials too, so definitely a spot I'll be visiting again.

OH. MY. GOODNESS! This place was FANTASTIC!! The vibe is adorable and so cute inside! We love all of the colorful decorations. We started with drinks and apps. My husband ordered the Me La Pelas - he said it tasted just as it was described on the menu. I had the sangria and we had the guacamole and Mexican street corn to start. The corn was not on the cob and it came warm. It was so good! Super cheesy and flavorful. It also came in this cute little cart. I ordered the carne asada fajitas and my husband had the shrimp tamales- I forget the actual name. Everything was so good and presented beautifully. Sarah was our bartender and server. She was very helpful and made a great drink! We will definitely be back!

Tamale Co is a brightly colored, family-owned spot that immediately makes you feel welcome. The food is delicious and clearly made with care, but the real standout for me was the al pastor tamales, covered in an outstanding hot sauce that brings serious heat--in the best way possible. On top of that, they make great margaritas that pair perfectly with the spice. Between the warm hospitality, bold flavors, and strong drinks, this is a place you'll want to come back to.

Cadillac Margarita

Fun, festive atmosphere with a great vibe. I ordered the Cadillac Margarita (a step up from the house), and it was perfectly balanced--not too sweet and tasted authentic. The appetizers came out with really cool presentations, which made the experience even better. My quesadilla was also very good.

I have to start off this review thanking our incredible service from Sergio. He made our dining experience exceptional! This is Tamale Co.'s second location. I have been to the original location that is set up with an order at the counter model, but this new location offers full service seating and a full bar. They have ample indoor seating and outdoor patio seating as well. I was excited that they opened this second location on my side of town! To drink, I had to try out the full bar, so I ordered a jalapeño margarita with a tajin rim. It was a great balance of spice, but be warned the jalapeños in the drink still have seeds, so this drink is for fans of spice. My friend went the sweet route and got a watermelon margarita with a salt rim that she throughly enjoyed. Now comes Sergio's first standout moment. One of my favorites from the hourglass location is the fresh bag of chicharrones you can pick up at the counter. These are not standardly available at this location, but when we asked about them, Sergio told us he would see what he could do. He then appeared with a fresh plate of chicharrones topped with cilantro - we were in heaven. Talk about making the dining experience special! For my main entree, I ordered the taco salad with chicken. My typical order is tamles, but I was looking for something lighter. The taco salad was fantastic. It has a base of rice and beans and is filled to the brim with delicious toppings and well seasoned chicken. This would be my recommendation if you are looking for a little bit of everything flavorwise. My friend ordered her favorite, pollo asado tacos, and they were just as good at this location. As we were finishing up, Sergio popped out to ask "You saved room for churros, right?" We said why not! When the churro cart came out it came with sparklers and flashing lights - basically churro bottle service! I don't know if this is standard, but it made it feel extra special. The churros were crunchy and sweet and came with caramel and chocolate dipping sauce. I highly recommend checking out this new location!

I am so glad Tamale and Co. is on edgewater! I used to visit their Goldenrod location when I had the availability! I love the decor and ambience. The staff is so nice and recommended dishes to our party. The food is always constant every time I visit.

Good food, friendly service, and a laid back atmosphere make Tamale Co. a great addition to the college park food scene. We went for dinner on a Friday night and were sat promptly. We ordered chips and salsa as an appetizer which was fresh and a great start to our meal. I was excited to see they had Modelo Negra on tap as most places in Orlando only have it in bottles. They also have a solid list of tequila and mezcal with some cocktails that sounded interesting, will have to try those on the next visit! For entrees I went with the birria beef tacos and my partner had the oaxaqueno tamales. Both dishes were fresh and delicious. Our servers were kind and checked in at the right times to make sure everything came out on time and that we were set on drinks. Looking forward to coming back and trying some of the cocktails and more of the menu!

Tiny hole in the wall but once you're inside there is a very nice amount of seating, both tables and a barstool area to sit at. I placed an order and proceeded to sit at the bar area and wait for my food. Once it came out (super fast despite how many people were there), I understood why the sandwiches here are a little on the pricier side. The Ya-Mon which is jerk chicken, sweet plantains, pork rinds, jalapeno pesto, mango jam, gouda, jerk lime mayo, was heavenly. All the flavors blended in perfectly and the bread was so soft. The lime mayo was outstanding! It was about $16 and we'll worth every penny. The staff was super friendly and got everything cooked and sent out to each table very quickly. I will say if you come here during peak times, be ready to take the order to eat in your car or somewhere else because the tables filled up insanely fast while I was here!

I do wish their patio had more coverage though, great little outside seating area but often the sun is beating down on you and that sucks.

I stopped in after doing some shopping and placed my order online so it would be ready by the time I finished. I ordered the chicken club sandwich and a Dream Bar. It was after 8 p.m. on a Saturday, and the restaurant was pretty much empty. My order was ready ahead of the quoted pickup time, which I appreciated. However, the sandwich didn't quite live up to what I remember. The bread didn't taste as fresh as I expected, and the sandwich was lukewarm instead of warm and toasty like I've experienced at other locations. The Dream Bar was also not quite what I remembered. It didn't have the same richness or taste that made it a favorite for me in the past. I'm not sure if the time of day impacted the quality, but the overall experience just didn't match the Potbelly I remember from Chicago. That said, because I've had great experiences with this brand in the past, I'd be open to giving this location another try. When you walk in you are greeted by all the friendly staff, who are all eager to help. The shop itself looks like it has all the original furniture and definitely gives old school vibes which i personally find charming. You place your order at the counter and by the time you finish ordering your sub is ready. We had to wait a few extra minutes for our onion rings but that was because they were frying them fresh. My husband ordered the 8inch Regular Sub which is just another way of saying an Italian sub and I ordered a 6inch Cheesesteak Sub with a side of onion rings. The regular sub was packed with cold cuts and sprinkled with hots peppers. The sandwich tasted fresh and those peppers added great flavor to the sandwich. The cheesesteak was tender and had the perfect amount of cheese. The cheesesteak was so good I regret only getting it on a 6inch roll instead of an 8inch. The onion rings were big and crispy. I liked that when you bit into the onion rings all the onion didn't fall out. On both subs the bread was so pillow soft and fresh. Now that I know they have quality food I would like to comeback and try their wings with fries and wraps. Gabriel's is definitely a spot I need to return to.

As expected, we know going into these food stalls that the prices will be premium due to the expected high rent that these places probably pay. So when we saw waffle sandwich bar, we thought the prices seemed reasonable. The brisket melt waffle sandwich looked reasonable at $18. With taxes and the service fee that all restaurants charge at the hall, it came out to $20. We were expecting a generous based on the price, but we were extremely disappointed with the 3 slices of chopped brisket in the sandwich, and the small size of the waffles. The flavor was good but I'm worried this place won't be able to survive as I am usually pretty forgiving with restaurants but I had to be honest about our experience here. I hope if they continue charging these prices that they'll be a bit more generous with their portion size going forward.
