I'm happy to say, the field is in good shape and Loyola Park is a great place to watch a ballgame. If you're wanting an up close view, there's a small grandstand of bleachers directly behind home plate, in between the dugouts. I like sitting on the hill that begins behind home plate and flows down the line behind the first base dugout. Judging by my fellow fans, it's a pretty popular space. Feel free to bring your own fold out chair or blanket. You can see most of the field and you're also close enough to hear the infield chatter. A small concession stand is available. Bathrooms are located underneath the grand stands. The playing field is natural grass and dirt with mostly symmetrical outfield dimensions.

I attended their 2nd ever home game here this afternoon. The stadium is old and quaint, so don't expect a lot of modern amenities. The bleachers are covered so shade and rain protection are assured. Tickets are $10 card only and parking is free; and a small snack bar has basics. The stadium is surrounded by grass and trees, and provides great vantage points to witness professional baseball up close and personal. There was only about 50 people in attendance for this 2000 seat stadium, so I moved around a bit, but enjoyed sitting right under the press box behind home plate, so I could hear the radio broadcasters. The foul balls bouncing off the metal roof above us provided great sound effects and watching dug-out players retrieve foul balls from the first base side woods reminded me this ain't the big leagues. An afternoon of novelty, true sportsmanship, and visiting a piece of Kansas City history made for a memorable visit. I would love to go back.

Last night we attended our first Kansas City Current match at CPKC Stadium…read more Having heard so many glowing reviews about the first stadium built specifically for a women's professional sports team, we were excited to experience both the venue and the atmosphere. Our first impression was the outstanding customer service. Whether it was the ticket takers, concession staff, or guest services team, everyone we encountered was friendly and welcoming. The stadium itself was also immaculate. One of the best things about an 11,500-seat stadium is that there really isn't a bad seat in the house. The sightlines are excellent, and it's a quick walk to the concessions and restrooms from just about anywhere. If I could make one suggestion, it would be to install some of those Big Ass Fans beneath the roof overhang to help keep fans cooler on warm evenings. We were in Section 231, Row 18 on July 29. It was about 90 degrees with lower humidity and overcast skies. You could feel a nice breeze when walking through the concourse, but once we were back in our seats, the air felt warm and still. The new Morton Amphitheater uses these fans under its roof, and they make a noticeable difference. If CPKC Stadium is ever expanded, they would be a terrific addition. The match itself couldn't have been much better. The Current defeated Racing Louisville 5-1, and the first four goals were scored at our end of the field in the first half. We definitely picked the right side to sit on! Someone told us to stop by Guest Services for a complimentary First Match pin. Not only did we get the pin, but the two wonderful staff members also surprised us with a few extra pieces of Current swag, including a sticker and another pin. What a fantastic first experience. We can't wait to come back!

And not just soccer. The stadium itself is teal blue. The chairs spell CURRENT. The inside club was spacious, comfortable with a beautiful bar. The staff were polite and helpful. The food was delicious. I loved how comfortable the chairs were. When we went outside on the field, the magic could be felt. If you can, get a tour of CPKC Stadium. They did a beautiful job.

No matter where you sit in this stadium, you will have a good view. Even if you stand in the walking area, you will be able to see the action. Or you will catch the action on the many tvs located in the stadium. The Argyle suites are luxurious and provided a nice air conditioned area outside of the heat. They have a large fridge, many cabinets, multiple places to sit, and a little patio area with about 10-20 seats. They also serve food outside of the suites with a range of pizza, roasted vegetables, a variety of desserts, brauts, and coffee. A bar is also available. One downside is how expensive the food and merchandise is. I think the prices are crazy! Also the security wasn't super friendly when my bag was slightly over the size. Besides that, great experience!

Don't tell me it's $15 and then charge my card $16.50. Facilities are decent. Shade is available for stadium seating and bleachers. Parking has improved since last summer. Clean bathrooms. Easy access from I-435. Concessions not always open, and it seems like the only staff present on Saturday/Sunday might be teens.

The teams each have a coach, and t-shirts, and practices and etc... solid, professional, kids leagues. BVAC also offers adult sports, like kickball! Some of the soccer parents I know are on the kickball league and it seems pretty fun! I'll definitely check it out sometime! But anyway, the fields are always well kept, no litter, cut grass. There are bleachers on most of the fields for parents, but a lot of people bring their own chairs. I THINK there are 5 fields. Obviously some are smaller or larger for different teams. But if you live in the Independence area and have kids, take them by some Saturday and see if they'd be interested. :)

In turn the floor may get a little slick and the ball DEFINITELY sweats. People operating the facility are very kind. I will say that they should think about closing for a couple days to clean the inner dome. There is what looks like dirt on the ceiling. Most concerning is the mold you can see at the bottom of the dome, especially by the benches. But it's still a fun place to play!

The arena is pretty loud, but that is to be expected. Food is WAY overpriced; this is a minor league team guys. $5 for a bottle of pop or water is insane. We had a great time at the game though, and got to watch some good hockey. I'm sad about the name and logo change, the Hunt's made a mistake there. I get them wanting to keep the KC brand name, but there was nothing wrong with the MO Mavericks name and it was more accurate since the team is in INDEPENDENCE, NOT KC. The black and orange is also horrible, very halloweenish and off putting. Once we got past the shock of the changes (we had season tickets right up until the year the Hunt family bought them and jacked up the prices over 30% & attempted to implement a charge for parking) since the last time we attended we did have fun because, after all, it is hockey. :-)
