The only one we could find was hot pink, and my dad reluctantly said yes to it. Since we had some time to explore, we thought we could try to find some black electrical tape to wrap around the cane to conceal the pink. Naturally, we were referred to this hardware store. When we explained our situation, the staff's reaction was the best. They broke out in a boisterous laughter and immediately said that they might have the perfect solution in their back room. I thought they were going to sell us some overpriced electrical tape since they were the only hardware store in a tourist town, but what the gentleman came back with would be worth much more. He had a super durable black mesh pipe cover that would fit like a glove over our cane! We were ready to pay a pretty penny for this highly specialized product, but to our surprise, they were so nice and told us that it was their gift to us. No way! This just doesn't happen these days when everyone is looking to make a quick buck. They even threw in a roll of professional grade electrical tape to keep the ends of the mesh from fraying. They wouldn't take our money, but in the end, they reluctantly let us leave them a few dollars. We all had a good laugh and the staff even said that they might change their business model to "hardware AND cane repair. " lol Sad that we probably won't be back in Ketchikan, but I highly recommend them to anyone who has a special project. These guys are creative and can help you find a unique solution! No project is too great for them!

We saw this taco spot and figured we'd give it a shot. We ordered the blackened shrimp tacos and garlic butter scallop tacos, served with chips and mango salsa, and both were incredible. We're from Southern California and have had our fair share of seafood tacos -- these were some of the best! The chowder had great flavor and the mocha iced coffee hit the spot too. Great sized beer too. We were rushing to make our shuttle, and they got everything out quickly enough for us to enjoy our meal and still make it on time. Skip the long crab lines and tourist prices and head to Berth 4 instead. Great food, fair prices, indoor and outdoor seating. Foodie approved and highly recommend!

The menu had a few overwhelming choices. I landed on a fish sandwich, a fish taco, and seafood chowder - I could not finish everything. All of the food was really good, but the halibut sandwich stood out. The fish was tasty and had just the right amount of batter. The staff were very friendly and the food did not take long. The only thing I will call out is the place is pretty pricey -- but I'm not surprised since it is a touristy area. Overall - I liked the place.
