This is a souvenir shop by berth 1. If you can think it, you can probably find it here. A lot of the brands and items can be found at the other stores around Ketchikan, with prices being both better and worse an the other stores as well. In other words, don't expect lower prices just because it has the word "outlet" in the name. read more

I can't say the "Outlet" store was cheaper on everything we looked at but there were enough inexpensive items that I could complete my souvenir list somewhat inexpensively without a long walk back to our ship. With several ships in at the same time, this store was packed. Nevertheless, I was approached several times by employees inquiring if I needed help and eager to find just one more of a particular mug I wanted. I cannot think of anything they did not carry; jewelry (inexpensive and pricier) clothing/accessories, food products, and every kind of "Alaska" souvenir you could think of. Don't get me wrong, they have some great deals for gifts to take home. Did find stuff that were cheaper in the other ports. The 1 star is for the service. We bought over $100 I'm stuff and some of was heavy. The cashier, a guy with dark hair, stuffed everything in one red plastic bag. When we left the bag broke. I went back and bought 2 more items so I could get the free bag that was in the coupon book. When I asked if I could get another red bag, the dame cashier rudely told me no and gave me an even cheaper green plastic bag that wasn't big enough for half the stuff we bought. read more

It's ok. I actually have found that a lot of places called "outlet" are more than regular stores- such was the case here. But that didn't stop people from loading up. As long as folks are happy. We found better deals in other stores (and better products). read more

How on earth is this store rated 3.7/5?! There is nothing here that is above market price-- most below-- it has its own built-in Hatley/LBH store, and it has great selection. Is its selection quirky? No more than other places. Is its service good? Fantastic this morning. It is far off the beaten path, but also tends to have great deals if you are willing to spend 10 minutes surfing the racks a bit. If I were you I'd window shop, get here, then start your purchasing here, working your way back to your cruise ship, if that is how you came. read more

The outlet store was extremely busy and crowded but the employees seemed to be right on top of things. The store is loaded with items for tourists and the prices were fairly reasonable when you consider where you're at. read more

One stop souvenir shopping in Ketchikan! We had grabbed an Alaska coupon book before boarding our cruise in San Francisco. In it were lots of deals for The Outlet Store, so we decided to check them out. I always get an "I *heart* whatever city, state, etc" shirt whenever I go on vacation. Looking through the coupon book, I saw they had an "I *heart* AK" shirt for $5! Score! I've paid up to $20 buying one of those shirts, so $5 was a bargain! We also picked up other souvenirs like a magnet, shot glass, etc. Unlike the rest of the ports in AK that we went to, everything wasn't 50% off, but there were some good bargains in that coupon book, so remember to grab one before boarding the ship! read more

I swear the words "outlet" and "sale" make people go crazy. Somehow my mother in law and I managed to wander around town for over an hour without spending much at all, then entered this "outlet" and even though it was the same exact products all the other stores had, the slightly lower prices, or hint at a deal made us pull the trigger to buy. Nothing in this store is produced in Alaska, it's all clearly stamped as made in China. But, sometimes it's fun to bring home some touristy gifts. If you don't feel like browsing multiple shops, this store has the biggest selection in town of said touristy made in China products. read more

The Outlet Store is a large store full of a wide variety of things for shopping. It is the best store in Ketchikan and close to the cruise ship port. They have a ton of things to buy: Jewelry Shirts, sweatshirts, jackets, coats, hats, scarves, gloves, hoodies Slippers Toys Magnets Christmas stuff Lots more See the real, taxidermied polar bear on display. There's a coupon from the cruise ship we were on to get a free pendent from the jewelry store located inside The Outlet Store, but it wasn't something we wanted. Purchased a lovely purple geode slice on a 10k gold chain for $15. Everything looks like it's made elsewhere except the geodes and Alaska chocolate but they have great deals and a large variety. read more

Best shop in terms of price and selection in all of the cruise ports! A beautiful, brunette, tall lady at the jewelry section was very courteous and helpful. Don't forget to get coupon book n get great deals! Love their on-sale t-shirt quality! Should of bought more! Great value souvenirs to buy as gifts. They have lots of things to choose from. We got the best priced stuff here based on a review about the value here. But not enough purchased... could use a few more magnets... We were on the homeward leg of our Alaska cruise on the Holland America Eurodam when we stopped in Ketchikan. I found a t-shirt that reminded me of a sight I had seen off the stern of a southbound cruise leaving Juneau, the big dipper and the north star, aka the Alaska State Flag. The price was right, so it became a souvenir. When I got home my daughter noticed that there was a unsewn gap in the seam on one side. I had disposed of the bag and the receipt so I wasn't sure where I bought the t-shirt. I called the store where I got some other shirts, Great Alaskan Souvenir & Gifts, and they informed me that they didn't carry that shirt, but they would check other stores for me to see who did carry the shirt. They put me in touch with The Outlet Store, which, no questions asked, offered to send me a replacement shirt. I offered to return the defective shirt, but they insisted I keep both the new and the original shirts. If I ever cruise through Ketchikan again, I will definitely shop at both these stores again. read more

I went to this store mid to late-afternoon on 9/13/2010 to get the last of my souveniers before coming back to Cali. I was blown away with the lack of help some staff chose to display. It took effort to get a few questions answered. I had made a purchase then noticed something else to purchase. I come back to the counter and the chick in the pink sweatershirt who was breaking down boxes asked another staff member to ring me up. The girl said "you're aready there!". Yes, she was literally behind the counter near the register. With my amazment the girl in the pink sweatshirt replied, "I don't feel like ringing up" or was it "I don't feel like ringing her up". Either way, that's just bad. To the girl in the pink sweatshirt: Retail is NOT your thing honey! I think there's a reason the store is at the end NOT near where most cruiselines port. read more

Went to buy a t-shirt and after extreme high pressure sales, I ended up buying 2 rings, worth a Received appraised price but local jeweler appraised them at less than 20% of what I paid. A store tag team waited until it was time to board the cruise ship- best deal, platinum silver ring, we will buy it back if it isn't worth twice what I paid. I continually said no thank you. I couldn't get my credit card back. The ship was leaving- buy this it is money in your pocket! The ship. Was leaving in 5 mins., I didn't want to miss it, I figured I could return the rings if the ring was too high, signed a form, took my old rings, the two new rings that didn't fit, my credit card and ran to the ship. An appraiser said one ring was worth 15% of price I paid and the other was $200 overpriced. The Outlet Store refused to work with me. The receipt I received a week later had in small print, "No cash refunds". I paid with credit card and wanted credit for returning the rings. They made $800% markup on me. A reputable jewelry dealer stands behind their product and treats customers with respect. The internet has better prices and higher quality certified gems. Their jewelry is poor quality stones and settings. "Platinum with silver" does not exist. Back on the high seas I put my reading glasses on and clearly saw the .925. The employees were like used car salesmen at the end of the month. Promise everything, work with low quality gems and sell high. Buyer Beware read more

For all the business the store does, I am amazed that they have not updated the Point of Sale systems. They require a separate swipe of your credit card (skimming anyone?) before putting the transaction through the actual POS machine. This is a very easy way to skim credit card information and is generally considered a warning sign for people to look out for. I will be contacting my credit card company to complain. I suggest you do the same. The store manager was rude and did not seem to care about my concerns. read more
