We bought a 10 1/2-inch totem made by a local Tlingit artist at a very reasonable price ($220). Local totems come with the story behind it. For anyone concerned about transporting a totem back home, about half of their stock has the wide wings detachable from the vertical pole with just one screw. That made for safe transport in our luggage, and it looks great back home.
