My 5 star review is specifically for Kibbie and the amazing tidy up service that Talaria offers. This woman is a literal angel and made this 3 year living experience an absolute joy! As far as the property itself goes, Talaria has some of the best amenities! One of the cons however, is that something is always broken. Either an elevator or the parking garage gate and it takes forever and a day to get fixed. Because this complex is so large, one of these things not functioning could be an annoying inconvenience depending on where in the complex you are located. read more

NOT WORTH the unjustified amount of rent you're about to pay for what you actually get specially if you're an INFLUENCER or in the ENTERTAINMENT industry. Where do I start, get ready to be pay $1200-1600 attorney/eviction fees even tho you sent them an email notifying them that out of the 34 months you've been staying there you will be late on rent for the first time ever, doesn't matter if it's 5 days or 3 weeks, I was told this was a common procedure executed by TIM himself. The gates are never working and most of the time they stay shut open so people's cars have been damaged and stolen in the past including mine, the main elevator goes down once or twice a month so be ready to wait 10 minutes to catch a lift to your APT, rent control is absolutely terrible, you will literally be charged 15-30% more on rent based on you're status, i know of influencers paying 20% more for the same apartment just because he's successful and earns a higher income.. the excuse they use is "availability" LOL. If you have guests over get ready to linger in the lobby waiting for someone to appear just so you can validate his license plate, if you do not do this your guests will pay $25-40 bucks just to visit you, My apartment is definitely not sound proof, and they've done absolutely nothing to fix it, so I will not be renewing my lease, I was told they discriminate and get to chose who's security deposit to hold and who's to return, I've gotten my pre inspection complete so let's see what they do. the abuse and not having the decency to be understanding of your tenants is the reason for this review. Continued from last post... If Emmanuel doesn't like you, you're screwed. My husband had a not-so-pleasant interaction with him and later that week, his car was towed from the guest parking lot. There are and have been dozens of cars illegally parked in the lot for days- WEEKS, with Talaria "Parking tickets", threatening to tow if not moved immediately. My husband's car was towed the next day. If Greystar really believed in their Core Values (yes, I looked them up), they would respond to our emails which simple asks for an explanation about the illegal entry, consent, etc. Instead, they ignore us. The one person who is always committed and happens to be the most loyal employee is LaJoyia. She's been there from the beginning and hasn't been promoted! I can't understand that and neither do the majority of the other residents. Orlando is also very consistent, helpful, and goes beyond just "fixing things". Talaria wasn't always like this. For years, we were a community. Since the addition the toxic manager (who refuses to address or acknowledge the illegal entry of our apt.), it just didn't feel like home anymore. We felt unwelcomed. I was also told that the day we moved out, Emmanuel "celebrated" by shouting, "I GOT THEM OUT! DING DONG THE WITCH IS DEAD! HOORAY!" What a great example of leadership to his team. While working on assignment in Burbank we stayed here for three months. The facilities are nothing short of amazing. The front desk staff are courteous and knowledgeable. The other residents are respectful to privacy and considerate. Never heard a peep throughout our stay. The amenities includes swimming pool/hot tub. Abundance of outdoor space, a first class weight room, an arcade room with free playing games for kids and adults alike. A movie theater that seats approximately 30-35 people to watch a movie or sporting event. Honestly I can't come up with a negative comment. We rented the apartment through Bedford Housing and I would recommend them as well. Thank you Burbank for letting us call you "home" for a few months. read more

Smoke and Mirrors What a piece of shit this place is! The amount of incompetence on the management side is astounding.  I've never seen anything like it. The building overall looks great from the outside (except for the Olive Ave main entrance facade, that's been like that for months, and the never-ending construction), but you give it some time you'll start to realize that it's a shit hole run by morons. Their motto for anything that goes wrong is, if an email wasn't sent out then it didn't happen. Fire alarms triggers my anxiety ever since I was a girl.  I was trapped in a house fire.  Well the fucking alarms go off all the time here! False alarms with loud sirens and an announcement telling you to evacuate the building immediately. Alarms go off so much that there's absolutely no way of knowing if there really is an emergency.  You have to call the front and hope that someone picks up to confirm if you really need to evacuate.  This has resulted of me being anxious all the time. So much that I've lost so much sleep which caused me to stay home from work. It's terrifying to be in the shower and hear an announcement through the intercom telling you leave your apartment immediately. Even after expressing to management all of my issue they have now scheduled another fucking fire alarm testing for this Friday, 3/13! Elevators are always broken. Even though they did an elevator testing on 2/25, it still broke two days later on 2/27 and again two days after that on 2/29.   Washer and Dryer is shit too! Leaks, air duct is noisy and due to the leaking, it stinks! No matter how much we deep clean it. Dirtiness everywhere. Floors, common areas, elevators, ant infestation. Terrible management who don't give a shit about you. All they want is to con you into thinking this is the place to be, well let me tell you ITS FUCKING NOT! read more

Lived here thinking it would be awesome. What a nightmare. Building LOOKS nice, but was horribly constructed. CONSTANT fire alarms going off all times of day/night. Kids running and screaming up and down hallways AND on residence patios...we were told to put up a "No Trespassing" sign. Management is inept, unresponsive, and irresponsible. I've lived her for a few years due to late life changes and with every passing day I'm more impressed. Today I emailed Maintenance about a blind, slow draining tub and I asked for a new AC Filter. I'm not kidding, fifteen minutes later I get a knock at the door. Clean cut, capable and professional Mr HABIB who I think might be the maint MG comes to my suite. This is a nice upscale complex above Whole Foods on Olive, I was curious one day and took a tour. The staff is very efficient and kind, it smells wonderful, and the units are spacious. The units have a more masculine aesthetic, probably geared more for corporate executives, with dark woods and finishes. Security and safety seems important to them, so no random people entering the property or parking where they shouldn't, they have many nice amenities like outdoor fitness classes, cinema room, a dog park, and one unit I toured also had a bonus storage unit right outside the apartment! With current promotions, their pricing is high but not out of reach for people used to living in luxury complexes. Very convenient for people working at WB and nearby studios, families here for entertainment business, etc. read more

As the business owner, you may not be aware of how your manager handled the dog attacks and may explain my lingering anger. I wrote 2 separate emails to mgt with "Dog Attack" in the subject line and received no reply. Then, I called the office and the mgr's reply to me when I told him of the attacks was, "This has nothing to do with the building. It's between you and the other pet owner." He never told me that he did ANYTHING AT ALL to address the matter. To this day, I've been given no information by mgt that anything was done to control the dog. If no one has told you, this pet owner who had never met me nor was he present at either attack filed completely baseless false police charges against me. (Obviously as a trick to distract from the dog attacks) If mgt had allowed the police to view the tape, the charges would've been immediately dropped. Instead, I had to be interrogated by police and defend myself. As I've been a resident of your building since 2018, without any incidents, warnings, late payments,etc, I expected more help from management. Especially considering Talaria has a very high turnover which makes me an OG. Since the second attack, I've ceased using all amenities for fear of running into the aggressive Siberian Husky and equally aggressive pet owner. Luckily, I'm an older woman, never ever charged or contacted by police before, with a long work history with my last position as CFO of a holding company and have held several position on boards of charities as well as years and years of doing charitable grunt work. I only mention this to show that I had the knowledge, gumption and resources to defend myself. Heaven help a resident who may not have the wherewithal to defend themselves from completely ridiculous police charges if building mgt refuses to provide evidence that would exonerate them. The safety of the residents from animal attacks as well as attacks from other residents is the concern of bldg mgt. The fact that I didn't report the dog to animal control until the second attack and that I haven't sued the pet owner nor the building owners should give you some idea of how I choose to conduct myself versus the other pet owner. As a result of mgt's actions, a long term exemplary tenant must move out rather than risk another dog attack or more false police charges or worse from the dog's owner. read more

We have been living here for the past several months, and so far it has been a fantastic experience. The place is clean! They are constantly working to not only keep it up, but to improve things. The staff is incredible. They also constantly work to plan events for fun and are always there to help with anything we need. Disclosure I am a Talaria resident of five months along with my mother and we really enjoy the building. I have lived in Los Angeles for 28 years and in that time frame lived in approximately 15 different apartment buildings with this one being the best. All common areas are really clean, the amenities are amazing and we can be needy self admittedly and MANAin the leasing office and her staff are always friendly and accommodating with our requests which are met with a timely response. And, they have EV parking for our electric car. Mana, the sales associate that we worked with was professional, helpful, and responsive. Lived here 2 years. Pros not worth the cons. At first we really enjoyed living at Talaria despite the splurge on rent. Being over a Whole Foods was a plus and the staff seemed nice enough, especially maintenance and LaJoyia. But, after some time, we noticed everything was not what it seemed. 1- Fire alarm frequently malfuctioned causing needles evacuations. 2- Elevators constantly break down (not just a "working out the kinks" issue but a real recurring problem). 3- Non working amenties such as a PUB with a cool looking tap that was never installed despite it being a selling point on tours (found this out AFTER renting out the PUB for a party and purchasing a mini keg that I could not hook up), or a "SKY lounge" where there's no way to open roof after hours (was told it's because the remote was lost), yet that is another selling point on tours. The whole point is the SKY! 4.- Grill broken for over a month and half I think it was (the other one worked still but was usually already being used when we wanted to grill) 5- Dog park good idea but not clean/maintained; too gross! 6- Hallways went downhill more recently with tenants letting their dogs poop/pee in hallways. Talaria vacuumed but never pressure washed halls while we were there. Same with parking garage. 7- Several water shut offs leaving us unable to use water in unit for hours and interrrupting our work schedule. Repairmen stomping on roof also. 8- Weed smell in halls and doors not sound proof, could hear noise from hallways at all hours. 9. Poor communication, frequent emails about things like random amenties being reserved, but then never informed about a new app to open doors from phone that was available. Things that made no sense like deciding to work on resurfacing driveway the night the food truck was there in the drive. 10. Over half the time when I reserved a conference room someone was already in there, and I had to awkwardly ask them to leave. 11. Balcony infested with spiders. Pest control would spray upon request but it never helped. 12. Also, black widows in the sky lounge. 13. One day all building power was out. Since everything is electronic nothing would work- no elevator, stairwell access, or door entry. Everyone waiting in lobby. One woman said her child was alone in her apartment and was visibly upset, and the staff member just laughed. 14. Lobby entry is a real issue. There is a desk where staff can be seen from outside, but the staff ignore people wanting to come in. They are supposed to enter via call box only and have 30 seconds to get on elevator. It seems so unfriendly. Security/receptionists were at times rude to my guests. One guest came to my movie night only to be turned away and went home, because I told her to come up to the movie room. But security wanted her to say which apartment number was mine, and she did not know it. 15. They added an arcade, but it was not great. It seemed the computer games were not working. Basketball game was fun, but the balls were always flat. 16. PACKAGE system is TERRIBLE. There are Amazon lockers and Luxe lockers. But apparently not enough of them, because many packages are just left sitting around on shelves or tables. MANY times my packages were lost or stolen including diamond earrings. Heavy items would be down there instead of brought to my door on the 5th floor. Hassle! 17. There is a 1x/week "tidy up" person you pay $45 a month for, whether you need it or not. We work from home so the intrusion was not always welcome. Had to pay it anyway. She was helpful with looking for lost packages though, and I appreciate that. 18. Water, sewer, trash, cost extra and vary. 19. To top it all off - our rent was going up again, (goes up every year). In 2 years we never paid late or any issues, so we asked if they'd give us a deal. They seemed to be eager for renters with lots of move outs and referral incentive notices in the elevators. But they flat out refused to negotiate in order to keep us. Then they listed our exact unit online for $1000 less monthly! I asked them about this and was told we could RE-APPLY (and pay app fees) for our own apartment we were already in, to get that rate. Unbelievable! We really didn't want to deal with the hassle of moving, but the way we were treated just motivated us to go even more. 20. At our final inspection appt. NO ONE SHOWED UP. They were texting the guy and couldn't find him. We were there 3 hours waiting in a hot, empty apartment (the a/c would not work because it's wifi and our wifi was already disconnected). 21. Now we've been given an email showing we owe them $600+ ON TOP of our $1k security deposit. I was told that EVERYONE is charged $250 for cleaning even if cleaned. BEWARE 22. They refuse to provide an invoice or link to pay it but are saying we can bring in a cashier check to their office or contact a third party accounting. Makes no sense! read more

I was driving by and saw the building. I walked in and was able to toured with my girlfriend. the building was so beautiful. The movie theater was the best part!!! I can see lots of events happening there. I'm planning on moving in soon, and working with the staff has been good. The lady who helped me out in the front was so kind. I look forward to coming back when I'm more ready to move. However they are still doing construction on the Whole Foods, I hope this ends by the time I move in. I wouldn't recommend living here for quite a few reasons. This is just one of them. Apparently our water will be shut off for over 30hrs. I've never once lived in a building that shut off all water in units for more than a few hours. Think of how unsanitary it is. We won't be able to wash our hands which is disgusting. We won't be able to cook. We can't shower in our own homes. It's so gross, they charge us 6k a month to live here & we can't even get running water. Again in the 7 different apartment buildings I've lived in this has never happened. This is on top of the constant weed smell, the loud music blasting through paper thin walls at all hours, the elevators constantly being broken & lately there has been dog poop and pee all over the property, including in the elevators when they're actually working. Unless you want to feel like you're living in a college dorm I would pass on living here. read more

So I'm going to agree with Lauren M. Prior to moving in here I toured the property about 4 times and decided to move in based of the incredible amenities they offered: pool, jacuzzi, gym, movie screening room, sauna, salon, business center, wifi, etc. We were told prior to move-in that the amenities were for residential use (obviously or else why would you put them in here?) We were also told prior to move-in the rules of reserving and which amenities would incur a fee: pool house and sky lounge if you wanted to use for a party all others were inclusive in the property and you had to make a reservation. Well, now it turns out that is not the case. I made a reservation tonight from 8p-10p to use the movie screening room as my brother in law is in from The Netherlands and we wanted to watch a movie with him. Typically you'd make a reservation for the time you'd like to screen and if it's available you get the 2 hour block. Not only would our key fobs not work to open the door, the on-site afterhours security (Andrew... who is THE BEST!!!) called Marie the property manager to let her know the issue we were having. He asked if he could go pick up a key to access the theatre room to which she responded, no. My response of course was, but we made a reservation and it's why we pay $4,000 p/mo for a 1bdrm apartment = THE AMENITIES! Her response... the amenities are not included for residential use! Talk about a bait and switch! If they aren't for the residents who live here, that pay a premium market rent... then what are they for?! And why are they listed on the Talaria Burbank website as a community amenity, what's the point of having amenities that can't be used by the residents living at the property? read more

I have lived here for a month and a half now, and I can say that I am so impressed by how helpful and wonderfully nice everybody is. Today, I had Habibullah, one of the buildings maintenance personal help me out with hanging lights on my balcony. He was so careful, kind and fun to talk to, while I would have been a nervous wreck on that ladder! He helped me with my request effortlessly and Timely. The maintenance team will help out with anything you need just like a normal apartment building but then they go above and beyond and provide five star service to do anything you need on a personal level as well. I have asked them to paint, remove doors, mount TVs, and they are always willing and professional about completing the job. Great place to live. read more

My husband and I just renewed our lease without reservation. We have been very happy with living at Talaria. The staff is amazing. And you will not find another building like this in Burbank PERIOD. Having whoke foods below is a serious convenience and we often walk to Riverside to many of the nearby restaurants. Even with the unprecedented changes due to COVID 19 the management & team has tried to adapt and find solutions. It's a balance to keep our living space safe and offer amenities. And although there is no right answer, they continue to acknowledge the needs and concerns of their residents. I feel very safe here and you can't put a price on that. The only criticism I have is that I wish they offered additional free parking spots to residents and made the concierge service Hello Alfred optional ($45/MTH mandatory). A huge shout out to the amazing and receptive staff. There has been a smooth transition in management and Calvin has been nothing but welcoming and receptive. The building itself and the amenities are great. There were a few kinks to sort out as it's a new building, but we got to live in a brand new apartment with high end finishes. I'm not complaining! Overall we had a great experience here and would happily go back should the need arise. The front of house staff are amazing - Cameron, Irene, Mana, Kennedy and LaJoya on security are always there to help. The gym is great, and watched over well by Shaton. He's available for personal training and also runs the free classes. This was a huge bonus for me.
