I enjoyed my food. It was solid but not overly exciting. I went for taco Tuesday and went safe on America style tacos. They were decent just not a ton a flavor. The service was also good. Not overly expedient but they were pleasant. The ambiance has real potential but the bar area was very cluttered and messy. I don't think they should be folding napkins and other distracting things right next to the guest. I go to relax and visual clutter is an anxiety thing for me personally. I'll definitely go back. I took advantage of the Taco Tuesday they offered and got it to go. Weather restaurant was very busy with people in the waiting area, the staff was super friendly. they offered both Mexican and American style tacos. So, I got four of each. They were both a little soggy and hard to peel off the paper once I got home, likely due to the steam so I assume it would've been better had I eaten it there. The American style with ground beef were better than I expected, but the Mexican style with steak, while good, weren't as good as I had expected. I would still go back and order either one of these and would absolutely try some of their other items. read more

Loved the decor and service! Was seatrd promptly without a reservation and food came quickly. Atmosphere was very chill and relaxed. Not a lot of loud noise or commotion even though it was busy. We enjoyed $13 Don Julio Reposed drinks while enjoying the chips & salsa. They have 3 kinds of salsa you can enjoy with the chips - mild, spicy red, spicy green. The green was my favorites - so flavorful! For dinner I had a steak taco for $4.50 - yes - you can order just 1 or 2 if you like - I didn't want a whole dinner. Then as the check was being placed, some dude comes over and tells us he is our server and asks if we need anything else. That was strange. He took all the credit for her hard work. Now our second visit was not marvelous. Drinks took forever. Even though we ordered the same drink, all three tasted like a different drink. Honestly the best Mexican food in town that I've found! The table side guac is incredible, fresh and flavorful. Our service was on the slower side this evening, our whole dinner lasted almost two hours for a party of four. However they were quite busy for a Friday evening. We haven't been here in awhile and glad we got a chance to stop by again. We were greeted and seated immediately. The entire restaurant was very clean and everyone was friendly. Our server was amazing, friendly, personable and efficient. In fact, this ENTIRE restaurant was an amazingly well oiled machine!! For example, when you order their freshly made guacamole, the server orders it via a microphone they have on them, which gets the process started immediately. We ordered one chicken fajita burrito, and one chicken fajita chimichanga. Unfortunately, we received two chicken fajita burritos, and when I pointed it out to our server, he picked up my plate right away and brought it to the kitchen. A few minutes later, I got, what I considered, a very sad looking chimichanga. All they did was put the ingredients in the middle of a flour tortilla, folded it into a square and fried it. In fact, that was the way it was served to me, a square fried flour tortilla with absolutely nothing on top of it as their menu description said. Though, whatever it was, was very tasty, but it was definitely not a Chimichanga, which is what I expected. Based on my meal, whatever it was, I should give this review of our visit a three out of five, but because our server was so friendly and awesome, I will go with four stars. read more

Great Mexican food is elusive in our area. Takos does as good a job as anyone else. The carnitas tacos are delicious and the rice and beans are fine. I like the Patron margarita - it's better than most. The mixtos enchiladas are just OK - I'd stick with the traditional with ground beef. I ordered the Birria tacos, and it was just a let down unfortunately. The broth was great, the meat was unseasoned and dry. Rice and beans were great, but they should never be better than a birria tacos. The waiter was good no complaints there. Music and vibes are good too. Our party of 3 enjoyed the macho burrito and (from the specials menu) pollo Jalisco and enchiladas suizas. Portions were generous and the food was super fresh. They have the best Beria tacos in the whole two counties. I don't like their side, dishes of beans and rice because they put chopped chilies in there and other vegetables and it's kind of weird I like traditional frijoles and traditional Spanish rice, but their tacos are really flavorful and they're consommé to dip it in is really the best in the whole area. I just get two or three of the Birria tacos as an à la carte order and I have the provided chips and salsa. From the outside this restaurant looks boring, inside its a hopping lively place with a bar and tables on each side. Large groups can easily be accommodated. Guacamole was made tableside by a young lady, it was not exciting, basically she cut 2 avocados and smashed them in a bowl and added some condiments and that was it, no interaction at all. Food was fresh and favorable. We recommend the birria tacos and shrimp fajitas. The side of beans come in a fried tortilla bowl. The side of rice comes in a metal bowl. Went early on a Sunday evening before it got busy. Restaurant is clean and bright. Chips and salsa were brought right away and drink order was taken immediately. Food order took a bit longer as we had already eaten our chips. We asked for more chips and it took a long time and a 2nd request. Food also took awhile to come and my order was wrong. I think a manager was the one to deliver our food (came in 2 separate trips) and there was no apology for the wrong order other than he said he'd go check. By the time I received my food the rest of my party of 4 had almost finished. Our waitress apologized when she finally brought my food but no other accommodations were made. Food was good. We had 2 who ordered the shrimp quesadilla, one 2 tacos and the other shrimp enchiladas. With many options in the area to choose from, while good food, I've had Mexican as good other places with better service and based on other reviews the service has been mediocre at best. Easily the best Mexican restaurant my family has experienced since moving to Florida! Located in the Walmart parking lot, Takos Cantina is nothing short of a hidden gem. Upon walking in, you're met with beautiful cultural artwork and statues. Vibrant colors, intricate lighting fixtures and detailed paintings tie the room together offering something new and exciting to gaze upon. The facility was EXTREMELY clean; the floors to the glasses and silverware, everything was spotless. From the host to all the waitstaff we came into contact with, everyone was kind and welcoming. We (a family of four) were sat immediately and offered fresh chips and salsa. We were just in time for the five dollar margaritas, which were perfection! My father ordered the traditional margarita, while I had the watermelon version. We ordered tacos, burritos and fajitas with everything being fresh, flavorful and delicious! Almost a 5 star, but service wasn't great. We got there at 6PM on a Friday for dinner. We were able to be seated right away, but there was a good wait if you arrived after that. Many tables were un-bussed while a good sized crowd was waiting to be seated. The wait staff seemed to eb delivering food to the wrong tables as well. We also waited quite a while for our waters to be refilled. On the bright side, it's a festive, nicely decorated restaurant with a great bar area. The food was delicious, worth waiting for. This is the best decorated Mexican restaurant I've been in. The lights, chairs, wall art, tile, etc was amazing. Our waiter was ok . He was a little new. We had to ask for chips and salsa. They had 2 salsa flavors. One hotter than the other. I started with the tequila flight $25. It was beautiful and very good. The bartender brought it out and he was so impressive and funny. Our waiter brought my wife the wrong beer . We split the chimichanga with steak. It was good and had queso on it. The beans were good. Rice was normal.
