Restaurante Tequilas - Steak Mexicano with rice and beans - Mexican Near Me - Palmetto, Florida

The food was excellent. We started with the guacamole, had four entrees for two adults and two kids, and finished with churros. Everything tasted great. The ambiance was also a plus. The restaurant is very well decorated, and the Spanish music played at an appropriate volume and added to the experience. Unfortunately, the service was lacking. Both kids received the wrong meals, and once the restaurant got busy our waitress disappeared for a noticeable amount of time. While the food quality stood out, the lack of attentive service was hard to ignore. read more

This place probably has the best Mexican food in the area. The food that came out was pretty good. The chips are good. The steak in the fajitas was tender and flavorful. The queso is good. My only qualm is with the service. It took a real long time for the waiter to close us out while we were ready to go. The restaurant is super nice. It's also pretty good place to just come have some drinks. read more

Pro tip: ask for the fancy margarita. The house marg is def good. But, the fresh squeezed and top shelf option is even better Overall the food is good. Portions are very generous. I just wished they had a more distinct flavor profile-- perhaps a bit freshers homemade forward flavors. read more

Absolutely the worst Mexican food I've had! Drinks are so small and expensive! I would never go back!

This restaurant was absolutely incredible! I got the best carne asada tacos i've ever had, and i'm from southern California! The queso top notch. The service was lightning fast, and the servers were great! This restaurant was truly phenomenal! read more

This place has been a great find. Have not been disappointed by anything that we've ordered. Margaritas are offered in several flavors, come filled to the rim, (or close to it), and come with a nice little kick. One may be plenty. The ambiance/vibe is entertaining, as you can see by the many photos. Service is always great. The staff are friendly, very knowledgeable, and happy to share with a smile, which is becoming rare. Highly recommend this restaurant. read more

The lady who served us She understands English but struggles she did good though. Too many order to bring up. Chicken wings, hot poppers, salsa and chips, fajitas, tacos, quesadilla it was all good. My fajitas. Was over cooked though but it was so much I took it home. Overall it was good! read more

Classic old school Mexican style restaurant. Food is really good. You get fresh chips and salsa. I like the tacos michoacanos steak w corn tortilla and I ask for a small side of queso to dip. Service is generally fine. Don't be afraid to flag them down when it's busy. They also offer a lunch special. read more

First, the menu was done by someone who has no sense of typography or design leaving it difficult to read. The yelp page says they have "many" vegetarian dishes. Actually it is just four dishes. One of our meals was served cold. He had to go looking for the waiter. It took several more minutes for them to come collect his plate. Others were done by the time he got his meal back. I got the veggie combination. The cheese enchilada and bean burrito. Both were drenched in some spice that overwhelmed all other flavors. Did it come across that the service was poor? The restaurant is cute and comfortable. read more

Don't get the fried ice cream, I was excited about the classic ice cream fried when the dough is warm outside but this was just an ice cream on top of a fried tortilla, disappointing read more

Food was great, atmosphere was fun and authentic. Our server was very helpful and attentive!

Went last night for dinner with friends. Not a big margarita drinker, so mine lasted the entire meal. Salsa was good, chips okay. Ordered the California burrito which was large and tasty, consisting of rice, beans, cheeses, tomatoes, mushrooms and chicken ( our choice of filling). It was hot and delicious. Server was fair: friendly but not too attentive nor engaging. Place was packed, always a good sign. Will most likely return in the future. read more

The food came out super quick and was hot and delicious!! Their drinks were good too, I love the variety of their drinks and the cute different glasses they use. Our waiter was fast and he made sure that we had everything we needed except at the end when they were closing up, his attention was diverted and we had to wait a bit for our check. The restaurant itself was a bit dirty on the floor and table a little and the place smelled a little weird, but all that aside it's a good typical place to grab a bite and some different drinks! read more

Tequila's is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. I usually have fajitas, but wanted something different today. I didn't mix it up much, but I had the fajita quesadilla. I'm not a fan of beans and asked to swap for guac and said I was fine with an up charge. The server wasn't sure if he could do that, but said he thought the kitchen would be fine swapping beans for sliced avocados. I truly appreciated him working with me to provide a meal I wanted and it was super tasty! I would definitely order this exact meal again. I don't recall my server's name but he was a great server, also. read more

Food is superb, savory and one of the finest tasting Mexican places we have been to in the Tampa/St.Pete/Bradenton/Sarasota region. Place is in a run down shopping center, but don't let that fool you. Inside is beautifully decorated that you wouldn't know it from the outside. We came at roughly 2:30pm on a Saturday afternoon and it was almost empty. We thought maybe Yelp had led us astray once again. But not this time. Yelp was spot on. The food is outstanding. I had the California Burrito and my wife had the Flautas. Both excellent choices. We will definitely be coming back here. read more

Good pretty bland chimachanga the worst ever. Covered with red sauce not fried. Chips hard and unsalted. Best are the margaritas.

Food..service..ambiance Gr8. Only reason didn't give a 5star....their flan was over cooked. We had tostados, chili rellano, & quesso. Everything was wonderful. read more

Well... it's just OK. It tastes authentic, the quality is good, the staff is nice, the restaurant is clean, but the food is short of amazing. I haven't been here in about four years and used to swear by it. Now? It really just is small portions, over-priced average food, with nice servers. Nothing more, nothing less. Meh. read more

Their Shrimp Fajitas are the bomb! My favorite thing, it's so good I never order anything else!

First time, last time. The worst Mexican food and drinks I've ever had. I got a large $15 margarita that had no alcohol and watered down mix. The "quesadilla" is like a soft shell taco. The tortilla is folded over in half so it's like half a quesadilla but it costs full price. The only thing half way decent is the chunky guac except the iceberg lettuce filler. ICEBERG LETTUCE IN GUAC?! WTF! AVOID! read more

I gotta say I was kind of underwhelmed. Our fajitas lacked flavor and the burritos were really not much different than you would get in a frozen dinner. The margarita was average, at best. Our server did a nice job, however. Its really not important to me but the mens bathroom was kinda gross. The atmosphere is kinda good- like an authentic mexican restaurant, if that means anything to anyone. read more

Keep in mind that they just opened up after COVID-19 restrictions. The crowd is very small and the eating area is taped off like a crime scene. Margarita is absolutely wonderful. Enchiladas Banderas was really good. I asked to have them mixed under the sauce, but got 3 chicken under red sauce and cheese sauce and 3 ground beef under cheese sauce and green Chile sauce. That's my only complaint though. People coming in are smiling and happy to be back. Many customers are absolutely happy to be back. I look forward to the lift of the restrictions. Then I can give a better review. read more

I want to leave no star but you have to in order to leave a review my fiancé and I only had a bite each of our food left feeling so ill and both threw up on our way home and the got violently ill when we got home. We both had chicken items(went for what we thought to be the safest route) . Mine chicken fajitas I don't remember the name of his. Idk what the fuck they put in the food but I'll never be returning I hope no one else does. God bless I hope someone sees this before going. read more

The service here is fantastic and the decor is real pretty. Maybe friends got Fajitas and they really love them. My significant other got the enchiladas with Molé sauce but he was not very happy with it. I got the fish tacos and was excited because the menu said they made them with cabbage but They don't use cabbage, they use lettuce and put a bunch of pico de gallo on top which it doesn't say that on the menu. Because of that I did not care for it. read more

Happy to find a Mexican restaurant that serves vegetarian meals along with a very complete menu.. The chili rellenos were the best we've ever had: large, lightly breaded, full of yummy cheese. With a green taco, the bill for each of us was $10. Add a couple of excellent and very generous margaritas for a satisfying lunch. Service was fast and professional. We ate there mid-day on a Thursday. read more

DELIGHTFUL! Stopped in for a late lunch, service was stellar! Food...OMG! Husband got the grilled steak burrito (hold the mushrooms, never on Mex food!) and he declared it one of the BEST burritos of his life! I got the taco/ench, rice/beans, my go-to dish. Excellent! Chips, fresh and plentiful, salsa, a hit! Waiter was very friendly and professional, the whole experience was exceptional. Their covid protocol is spot on too for those who might be concerned. Proper on all levels. I'd add a photo but we were hungry and dove right in, who wants to see an empty dish??? read more

I have rarely had service as rude and entitled As this place. Tried to order food from Door Dash, and there was no way to order Salsa. so I simply called to inquire how to get it. Girl said she didnt know to try and get me to hang up. I asked if she could find out real quick. She starts asking then she just hangs up. I call back, she answers in spanish thinking it will throw me off, she says hold on. She just puts the phone down for several minutes off mute going about her business, laughing then eventually hangs up. I called until they finally answered, asked for a manager she is laughing talks to someone tells me they "just left". I wonder of the owner knows this is how they treat a customer who has been coming in for YEARS. No business should feel entitled to take your money on terms like that. read more

One of the best Mexican restaurants in Bradenton area. Love the staff. Love the food and the service is great.
