Order "Heineken Light" while pointing rotten menu where it's listed, still get brought a Heineken regular. Okay fine I can get over it. Order some tacos. Usually I'm okay with pico and you can pick out the onions if there are too many. This pick had massive chunks of green pepper and red onions diced in. I returned my plate of food for like the first time in 10 years. It was just covered in onions and peppers and the entire meal was not going to be enjoyable. I met a buddy for lunch at Mr Tequilas today. We have been eyeballing this big burrito they had posted and we had to cross it off the list. This thing was called the Sizzling Burrito and it had grilled chicken, chorizo, french fries, sour cream, beans, cheese dip, chorizo, guacamole, queso fresco. Obviously not diet minded, but man did this thing hit the spot! The Texas margaritas did not disappoint and complimented the meal well. We have been going here for years and have always enjoyed ourselves. This visit did not disappoint. We had great service at the bar and plan on another visit soon. Highly recommended. read more

Second time my family and I come here, first time we were on vacation and now we were just in the area. I forgot why we don't frequent this place because it's so expensive. This time though.... I ordered my burrito and it was really good but halfway in, I decide to open it because the chicken is tasting funny... when I see inside, it's raw. Chicken was PINK! My waiter didn't seem to care, she's was like, let me take it to the manager and the manager was like YUP ITS PINK, WANT SOMETHING ELSE? No sir! We went on Taco Tuesday so we knew it would be busy. We were told 10 to 15 minute wait. Sat at the bar to have a drink while we waited for a table. Bar service was great but an hour and five minutes later we were finally were seated. By this time the restaurant was clearing out and slowing down. The chicken fajitas came out burnt black on one side so they were sent back. They came back two minutes later the same burnt black dried out chicken which was not edible. Friends got tacos that were dripping with grease on every bite. Our bill was added up wrong and it took another 30 minutes for our server to cash us out. We go out to eat a lot so if any one of the above things happened, we'd probably get over it, but to have all that happened... So not impressed (so in short, too long of a wait time for cheap subpar food and a manager who is unfazed and dismissive, almost like this happens all the time, what do you want me to do about it attitude.) read more

Ate here last night with husband, son and daughter in law. Not gonna lie, the restaurant name scared me a little because I was worried that it would be completely Americanized Mexican, but it was actually good. Frozen margaritas are great- I got mango and husband got raspberry and you could taste actual fruit, not that nasty artificial mixer. Tortilla chips were crispy and fresh, and salsa was good. Service was great on a busy Sat night at about 7 pm. I got the enchiladas Yolanda with chicken and they were good- mole sauce was tasty and beans and rice were fine. Not blown away but good. Daughter in law got chimichangas abs like them. Son and husband got a dish with cheese and meat that went into tortillas- forget the name but they were happy with it. Prices are reasonable. So decided to try this place today for lunch. I ended up deciding on the burrito del mar and my wife got the taco salad with chicken. It took a while for the food to come out which is not common for a Mexican food place. Also considering that the place had barely anyone there. My wife got her salad and it was very disappointing. The shell was very shallow and the salad was very dry. Barely any lettuce as she had to search for it. Chicken were the tenderloins and they left the tendons in. No sides of guacamole or sour cream either. Very weak for a $16 salad My burrito was ok looking at first but the shrimp were overcooked. Chicken was the same tenderloins with the tendons and inside was dry flavorless rice. Fake cheese sauce and some supposed chipotle mayo or sauce. The lobster tail was like rubber. I pushed through half because no server around. The second half I just could not eat. It was like a rubber ball. When the server finally came around I let her know about he lobster and she took the plates. Then brought out the check. No apology. No offer of dessert comped or otherwise. While I did not need anything free or a discount an offer could have been made or at the least an apology but they could care less that I left most of the meal there and half a tail. The place looks lively and nice. I like the Decor, it's colorful and bright, it makes it all feel festive!!! Our orders were taken quickly, the server was fast and attentive. She missed a few points of service here and there but I guess they are very casual and don't follow protocols like that. I tried to put things that were done ( sauce containers, empty glass, etc ) to the side so they could take it away but they didn't. The salsa wasn't great. And it feels good when you get the freshly fried or baked chips, just at least for the first two or three bites. We didn't get any napkins or water either. The Frozen Mango Margarita that I had was fantastic, sweet and tart, it was not natural mango though, it just kick in the right spot. We ordered Special Enchiladas and a Loco Burrito. The food was really good, there was home made flavor and love put into it. Even though presentation wasn't great at all. The staff could benefit from steps of service and other key points to create a wonderful experience and atmosphere for their clients. With the chance they give you this picture of salsa which I found really unusual and quite generous. The waitress is kind of running around fast and they don't really speak English that well, which is you know OK. I ordered a couple of things, but I don't remember the other thing it didn't impress me that much, but the Beria tacos were very good and they're serving is very generous. I think if I remember correctly, I got 44 tacos maybe five for something like $17, and they are very generous with the pulled beef filling. The chairs are cute. Tried their veggie chimichangas and enjoyed those. Everything tasted like hard working people trying to make a living had prepared the meal but it didn't rank as authentic. I could tell that the ingredients were more of a restaurant supply store quality. For the chips and salsa, the chips tasted like they came out of a bag and were flash fried. First experience: I see elote (roasted corn) and a double shot margarita on the menu and I jump for it. What I got was a microwaved can of corn and a microwaved frozen corn nub covered in mayonnaise. Where's the crumble cheese and the roasted corn? The "double shot" margarita I got was all mixer and salt. No trace of tequila in it at all... Mr. Tequila is literally a hidden gem in the heart of Bradenton! I've always noticed the traffic while dinning at Mr. and Mrs. Crab but didn't decide to try it until last Tuesday. I'm a huge fan of the house salsa and steak Quesadillas. I ordered the San Jose style which is just your traditional quesadilla with lettuce, tomato, and guacamole on the side. Although my food was very good, I plan on ordering the fajita style quesadilla the next time I visit, since it is covered in queso cheese- OMG! Not sure if I will order another Margarita here though. Great quality, large servings, reasonably priced and delicious Mexican food as rated by a former Arizonian, who knows good Mexican food. Their drinks are quite generous so bring a lifeguard in case you fall in. The ambiance is pleasant, my Latino wife greatly enjoying the Latin music which adds to the enjoyable vibe. read more

Then the older gentleman with them had the gall to get up and go get himself To Go containers! How dare you taunt someone until they tell you all free then think you deserve to take leftovers. Great manager he took all their crap was more than accommodating . If your service was bad you don't leave a tip, you dont get to eat and then expect all cost removed and take it home . I had high hopes; how can you go wrong with a name like Mr. Tequila? How do you go wrong with fajitas? Somehow, this place found a way. The margaritas we had were warm. The fajitas (see pics) were mediocre. I actually stared at them placed in front of me for a hard minute; had they really found a way to make fajitas mediocre? And that's how I felt about our time at Mr. Tequila's; mediocre. Service was average, waiter wasn't rude but had a noticeably bad attitude, as if our presence was some kind of inconvenience. My father enjoyed his burrito however, and the drinks were strong. The chips are free and the salsa is solid. I know the owner reads comments so I'll suggest this; fajitas with a paltry amount of meat aren't worth ordering; if the price is adjusted to be low, consider increasing it and adding more meat and presenting it better. With a name like mr tequila, one would expect the margaritas to be on point; without equal! You're on track with the strength.. but serving warm margaritas sucks.
