We were here on a Friday so there was LIVE Mariachi music. The chairs were really cool. Lots of seating and fried ice cream. We had no issues here, got seated right away. Food was good and we had enough for left overs. We shall return!! See our YouTube channel Coolest Life. read more

We are brand new to the area and was taking some family out to eat the day of July 4th so everywhere we were looking was closed- but then came across this place and it ended up being some of the best Mexican food I've had out here! I'm originally from San Diego so my expectations are real high but this place hit the spot. We had a few different kinds of frozen margaritas and I never get fajitas but it was looking and smelling good seeing it on other peoples table and the flavors were very much there. Our server was also soo kind and very attentive! I wish we got his name. We already recommended this spot to many of our family out here. We will definitely be back! read more

Very bland food... there didn't seem to be any seasoning at all. We were disappointed and hoping for authentic Mexican food but it felt very Americanized. The service was quick and decorations are cute, but the food itself was not anything we would come back for read more

Order "Heineken Light" while pointing rotten menu where it's listed, still get brought a Heineken regular. Okay fine I can get over it. Order some tacos. Usually I'm okay with pico and you can pick out the onions if there are too many. This pick had massive chunks of green pepper and red onions diced in. I returned my plate of food for like the first time in 10 years. It was just covered in onions and peppers and the entire meal was not going to be enjoyable. The server brings me the tacos and charges me full price for both orders. I didn't eat anything out of the first order. Fully returned right away after I ordered it. I will not be back. read more

Wonderful wait staff! Awesome house margarita! My husband had a huge chimichanga. I had Enchiladas Yolonda. They had a ground beef filling and were topped with molè sauce. They were delicious! I remember going to this place over 20 years ago with my mom. Not sure if was the same name/owners then. I just remember it being very good Mexican food--and it still is! read more

I met a buddy for lunch at Mr Tequilas today. We have been eyeballing this big burrito they had posted and we had to cross it off the list. This thing was called the Sizzling Burrito and it had grilled chicken, chorizo, french fries, sour cream, beans, cheese dip, chorizo, guacamole, queso fresco. Obviously not diet minded, but man did this thing hit the spot! The Texas margaritas did not disappoint and complimented the meal well. We have been going here for years and have always enjoyed ourselves. This visit did not disappoint. We had great service at the bar and plan on another visit soon. Highly recommended. read more

Because the food was very disappointing this was my first and last time here. After tasting the cold, stale chips while waiting for my order I should have followed my instinct to cancel the order, pay for my soda, and walk out. But, didn't. :-( My food arrived and it was only lukewarm. The beans had congeled leaving the top of them with a light layer of grease. I asked for a take out box and brought the meal home to reheat later. I will say the staff were friendly and efficient but that does not make up for the other faults. I wish Alverez was still open or planning to reopen again. read more

Second time my family and I come here, first time we were on vacation and now we were just in the area. I forgot why we don't frequent this place because it's so expensive. This time though.... I ordered my burrito and it was really good but halfway in, I decide to open it because the chicken is tasting funny... when I see inside, it's raw. Chicken was PINK! My waiter didn't seem to care, she's was like, let me take it to the manager and the manager was like YUP ITS PINK, WANT SOMETHING ELSE? No sir! Nothing sounds appealing when you're halfway in an uncooked burrito. Completely lost my appetite. Unfortunately, it seemed like the place is going downhill and it's sad because it was once a busy tourist stop. Now it's sad and empty. read more

Need to update my review. I gave the restaurant another try. This time was much improved. The service was great and I rushed as last time. Yasmin my server was fast and attentive. The food was rest from chips and queso to my order of chorri pollo. This is my favorite go to at Mexican places. The included beans and rice were both tasty. The house margarita was perfect. So glad I gave them another try. Will definitely return soon. read more

Worst margarita I've ever had. The house margarita tastes like bubblegum. I swear there is zero tequila in it. Service at the bar was basically non existent. I had to ask the bar tender when she finally came around to add a shot of tequila and two limes to our pitcher so that it would actually have some flavor. read more

Ate here last night with husband, son and daughter in law. Not gonna lie, the restaurant name scared me a little because I was worried that it would be completely Americanized Mexican, but it was actually good. Frozen margaritas are great- I got mango and husband got raspberry and you could taste actual fruit, not that nasty artificial mixer. Tortilla chips were crispy and fresh, and salsa was good. Service was great on a busy Sat night at about 7 pm. I got the enchiladas Yolanda with chicken and they were good- mole sauce was tasty and beans and rice were fine. Not blown away but good. Daughter in law got chimichangas abs like them. Son and husband got a dish with cheese and meat that went into tortillas- forget the name but they were happy with it. Prices are reasonable. Solid 3-3.5 but will upgrade to a 4 for great service. read more

Interesting place good authentic Mexican food and full bar. Service was good and the ambiance and decor is interesting. Food takes a while as it's prepared fresh, the chips and salsa on the table were ok and served with two empty bowls and small glass vase of salsa. One other issue every booth we sat in the tables were uneven and rocked back and forth. We settled on the last booth that shifted the least. read more

So decided to try this place today for lunch. I ended up deciding on the burrito del mar and my wife got the taco salad with chicken. It took a while for the food to come out which is not common for a Mexican food place. Also considering that the place had barely anyone there. My wife got her salad and it was very disappointing. The shell was very shallow and the salad was very dry. Barely any lettuce as she had to search for it. Chicken were the tenderloins and they left the tendons in. No sides of guacamole or sour cream either. Very weak for a $16 salad My burrito was ok looking at first but the shrimp were overcooked. Chicken was the same tenderloins with the tendons and inside was dry flavorless rice. Fake cheese sauce and some supposed chipotle mayo or sauce. The lobster tail was like rubber. I pushed through half because no server around. The second half I just could not eat. It was like a rubber ball. When the server finally came around I let her know about he lobster and she took the plates. Then brought out the check. No apology. No offer of dessert comped or otherwise. While I did not need anything free or a discount an offer could have been made or at the least an apology but they could care less that I left most of the meal there and half a tail. I would never god back because not only was there food crap but they need to learn to read their customers. Good luck! read more

Every time I visited, Food was great. Receive food in a timely manner, and service Was good

We went on Taco Tuesday so we knew it would be busy. We were told 10 to 15 minute wait. Sat at the bar to have a drink while we waited for a table. Bar service was great but an hour and five minutes later we were finally were seated. By this time the restaurant was clearing out and slowing down. The chicken fajitas came out burnt black on one side so they were sent back. They came back two minutes later the same burnt black dried out chicken which was not edible. Friends got tacos that were dripping with grease on every bite. Our bill was added up wrong and it took another 30 minutes for our server to cash us out. We go out to eat a lot so if any one of the above things happened, we'd probably get over it, but to have all that happened... So not impressed (so in short, too long of a wait time for cheap subpar food and a manager who is unfazed and dismissive, almost like this happens all the time, what do you want me to do about it attitude.) read more

Taco Tuesday! Loaded with customers - we were seated within a few minutes and Rosa and the hostess with the mostess served us the whole time! Got everything right the first time - never needed to 'flag' them down (and they were busy the whole time!!) Thank you so much! The food was as great as our wait staff! 5 stars all around! read more

Service, attention to order details as well as reorders. Ordered 2 house margaritas 1 frozen w/salt and 1 on the rocks with sugar. Got two on the rocks with salt. The appetizer of Elote "ribs" were good but the dinner itself was just slopped on the plate, grizzle in the chicken, dried out refried beans and the look of a warm out cook. read more

The place looks lively and nice. I like the Decor, it's colorful and bright, it makes it all feel festive!!! Our orders were taken quickly, the server was fast and attentive. She missed a few points of service here and there but I guess they are very casual and don't follow protocols like that. I tried to put things that were done ( sauce containers, empty glass, etc ) to the side so they could take it away but they didn't. The salsa wasn't great. And it feels good when you get the freshly fried or baked chips, just at least for the first two or three bites. We didn't get any napkins or water either. The Frozen Mango Margarita that I had was fantastic, sweet and tart, it was not natural mango though, it just kick in the right spot. We ordered Special Enchiladas and a Loco Burrito. The food was really good, there was home made flavor and love put into it. Even though presentation wasn't great at all. The staff could benefit from steps of service and other key points to create a wonderful experience and atmosphere for their clients. This is a place for roadrunners; people that happen to be passing by and feel like eating some authentic Mexican Cuisine or the closest to that read more

Second time eating here. Met up with friends. This gem does not disappoint. Atmosphere screams Mexican food without being over done. Our server was awesome and never left us wanting or needing anything. The food was great and nice portions. I had lunch special number 3. Burrito and taco with rice. All excellent! Friend had the steak fajitas that she gets everytime. Also excellent. And other friend , she had a burrito rice and beans. Thumbs up. The first time I was there I got their Birrea tacos. They were delicious and I got their guacamole to go with chips. The best Guac anywhere and I got it again. Yum! Even their water is good. Only reason not getting 5 stars is they charge for extra items like onions?? Otherwise I highly recommend! read more

With the chance they give you this picture of salsa which I found really unusual and quite generous. The waitress is kind of running around fast and they don't really speak English that well, which is you know OK. I ordered a couple of things, but I don't remember the other thing it didn't impress me that much, but the Beria tacos were very good and they're serving is very generous. I think if I remember correctly, I got 44 tacos maybe five for something like $17, and they are very generous with the pulled beef filling. The chairs are cute. They're very hand de del Muerto day of the dead kind of bright carved seats. I would definitely go back there again. read more

Visited after a coworker recommended. I anticipated they would use fresh citrus for the margaritas and thanks to the honest waiter, I didn't get one because they use lime juice mixer. Tried their veggie chimichangas and enjoyed those. Everything tasted like hard working people trying to make a living had prepared the meal but it didn't rank as authentic. I could tell that the ingredients were more of a restaurant supply store quality. For the chips and salsa, the chips tasted like they came out of a bag and were flash fried. The salsa tasted like it came out of a container. I wouldn't put this place down but I can also say there's better out there. read more

Mr. Tequila is literally a hidden gem in the heart of Bradenton! I've always noticed the traffic while dinning at Mr. and Mrs. Crab but didn't decide to try it until last Tuesday. I'm a huge fan of the house salsa and steak Quesadillas. I ordered the San Jose style which is just your traditional quesadilla with lettuce, tomato, and guacamole on the side. Although my food was very good, I plan on ordering the fajita style quesadilla the next time I visit, since it is covered in queso cheese- OMG! Not sure if I will order another Margarita here though. It seems as if it was made with an inefficient amount of ice and looked kinda "flat". read more

First experience: I see elote (roasted corn) and a double shot margarita on the menu and I jump for it. What I got was a microwaved can of corn and a microwaved frozen corn nub covered in mayonnaise. Where's the crumble cheese and the roasted corn? The "double shot" margarita I got was all mixer and salt. No trace of tequila in it at all... The service was good and the atmosphere was nice, but for the cost vs. what you get factor, I would go elsewhere. read more
