Absolutely delicious and authentic meal! Just what we were looking for when showing our nephew around the area. We enjoyed queso, guacamole, tacos, enchiladas, chicken mole, and other such dishes. All were so good and almost no leftovers! Our server was attentive and friendly, our glasses were full the whole meal and the food was hot/fresh. Got away from The downtown hustle and bustle- and went for Mexican.... Came for the mariachi band... but it wasn't to be tonight. Oh well. Waited for a table about 20 min- which gave us enough time to get some margaritas. We could sit at the bar- or outside...but we snagged two chairs at the bar. Attendee was friendly and made nice drinks. Food was delish. Chips and salsa were freely given- menu says free with all meals. (Someone posted a complaint about being charged)... Anyhow- we enjoyed our meal. Busy place , but food came quickly and we loved our meals. I had the carne asada- waiter said the steak fajitas is a lot of food and I didn't need too much... I ordered it medium rare... and I would say it came medium well- a "little"pink... but more done than expected...it was still good.. I guess I would order it rare. rice and beans were tasty and also came with pico and tortillas. Chili Rellanos with beef had at least two or theee peppers... and stuffed full of beef- had to take half home. The combo plate also was fab. Time to update my review. "This is my original review fomr Dec 13, 2023 I have been here a few times now. The food has been good, the service very good. The noise is an issue especially when the mariachi band is playing so if you are looking for good food, good service and quiet you'll only get 2 out of the 3" The food is stool solid. It's American Mexican, not real Mexican. But it's good well, has positive flavor and will in in a pinch if you have a desire for almost Mexican food. The service takes a hit after tonight's experience. The server and expediters were friendly and efficient. Now follow along, I will get back to the server. There was a Mariachi band playing. As shared in my last review, the noise is an issue especially when the band is playing. Well, Mi Pueblo has taken LOUD to new heights. The Mariachi band, which walks the entire resturant, stopping at tables to play in a pretty small area, has added MICROPHONES and SPEAKERS to its bag of tools. I have NEVER been in a resturant where this level of sound was acceptable or even remotely enjoyable. It was so bad if they were playing when I got there I would have left. I have left resturants not feeling well because of lousy food. I left tonight with a raging headache that had me feeling sick to my stomach. Now back to the service. I asked our server to get the manager. This was my exchange with the Manager after she stood less than 2 feet from me Manager: You wanted to talk to a manager? Me: Yes. I wanted to let you know that the food is good,the service as always has been very good. Manager: That's nice to hear. Thank you. Me: But there is a problem (The band started playing again half way across the the resturants). The band is SO loud that I am walking out feeling ill, with a massive headache. Manger: WHAT? Me: EXACTLY. You can'at hear me and you are standing next to me. That is the problem. I can't have a conversation with the person across from me and you standing right next me can't hear me. The band is always loud, but their inclusion of mics is just overkill. Manager: Thanks for letting me know. and she walks away. No real care. No real concern. No nothing. When the server came back I told her that I asked to speak to the manager to talk about the noise, reassuring her that she recieved praise. I know what it's like to have a job where people ask for the manager. 90 out of 100 times its to complain about something service or order related. I just wanted her to have peace of mind. She did offer a half hearted apology about the noise, but we both knew she couldn't do anything about especially since the manager didn't care. Let me bottom line it. If you want good Pseudo Mexican food made the way most American's like it, you will enjoy this place. If you want good service, you will appreicate this place. If you want to have a conversation, call first and find out when the band is playing. If they are playing when you want to go, go elsewhere. For the record, the band is very good. Lots of talent, near great vocals. But this restrurant is NOT a concert hall. It's a resturant. Star rating changes from a 4 to a 1. Any place that makes you sick just be sitting in their establishment doesn't get more than 1 star. read more

This is our family spot for Mexican food. It never disappoints. It's great for little kids on Friday nights. Food comes out quick. And they have a guy who makes balloons for free (just tip). Kids love the nonalcoholic daiquiris (available in strawberry or mango). As soon as you sit, you get bottomless chips and salsa. This keeps the kids happy until food arrives which isn't too long after you put your order in. read more

Hubby loves this place! We've been coming here for years and years. Always a fan of Mi Pueblo. The taquitos are delicious and love the refried beans. The service is always great too. I did notice it's looking a little "dirty" as the decor has some dust on it, but the floors and tables are clean. read more

My roommate and I are residents of Life Care of Sarasota across the street from Mi Pueblo. We were so looking forward to a Mexican dinner but waited until the day after cinco de Mayo to avoid the chaos. I ordered the steak fajitas and roomie ordered the Pancho Nacho. One of our super CNAs. Picked up and plated the meals. My steak was so tough, the CNA couldn't cut it with a good dinner knife. The nacho was missing cheddar cheese topping and the quality of the ground beef was terrible. We called the restaurant and the manager immediately refunded our money. Now, that's a classy establishment. We were so disappointed as we both have such fond memories of the restaurant. read more

This location has it down very attentive and the chips and salsa never empty! Everything is pretty good here but the steak fajitas as my favorite. Went with enchiladas suizas with chicken and they were big and good-not the usual cheesy topping more of a cheesy sauce but still good. Have been many times, but last night's experience made me write a review! Myself, Other half, and a friend went for my birthday dinner and everything was incredible! The decor and ambiance is beautiful, really transports you to Mexico! The menu is enormous, and has something for everyone - from the typical American-Mexican offerings like tacos/burritos/nachos to more "exotic" like Birria and Mole. We started with the complimentary chips and salsa (salsa is the bomb!), had a nacho appetizer, then had chicken fajitas, steak fajitas, and a taco trio respectively. The nachos were so huge, myself and two hungry men couldn't finish them. They were so filling we could barely eat dinner, so had leftovers for today! The fajitas were HUGE portions and came with rice, refried beans, cheese, lettuce, pico, sour cream and we added guacamole. The servers were super attentive! Absolutely terrible , ordered to go Had their pick three a ground beef enchilada , chicken chimichanga and ground beef chimichanga . the chicken chimichanga was literally just chicken wrapped in a tortilla and fried dry no cheese or anything. hardly any sauce on the three , no accompaniment of sour cream, salsa or guacamole Also had a steak burrito for $ 20 I was expecting a banging burrito but no it was also a disappointment as it was mostly rice and refried beans with some tough strips of steak and the only accompaniment was some wilted lettuce and two day old tomato's just enough to say they tried I personally will never return to this restaurant and neither should you if you're reading this . This restaurant makes you feel like you're actually in Mexico with the ambience they've created filled with bright colors and tiles. The bar is small but they put out your drinks quickly. Food is always served hot and they are consistent with their dishes. Love that the waiters and bar staff wear Mexican attire themed clothing. When the mariachis are there it's always a treat. Came here with my bridal party the day before my wedding for lunch! They were so accommodating for a large group. The variety of margs they offer allow for everyone to find something they love! Mi Pueblo is great! First time there, but will be back. It's a large, nicely decorated place and was comfortable. We started with the Mexican Rolls appetizer which came out very hot and delicious. They also provided one basket of chips and salsa which was nice. The salsa was especially good. I had the Pollo Monterrey which was also delicious. Smothered in cheese and a decent sized piece of chicken. They don't take reservations and apparently a very large group arrived before us, so our wait was about an hour. I hate having a long wait to dine, but figured I'd do it this time. As longtime customers of many years, we were totally BLINDSIDED by being charged for chips ($4.25) and red dip ($2.50) when we ordered two ala carte meals yesterday! We have always been brought chips and dip when seated in the past, and were never informed of this charge. The waitress said it was "somewhere" on the menu. I noticed all the drinkers in the bar had chips and dip and wondered if they were getting nicked for the chips/dip as well. If we ever return you can bet we'll make sure we don't get charged for this item. Not happy in the very least. read more

Use to be a nice place to eat, however, the booth seating has become worn and very uncomfortable to sit in. It's like you're sitting in a hole as the cushions have become severely worn over time. Also, use to have fantastic complimentary chips and salsa, but now the chips taste stale every time we visit. Never use to be like that, but we assume they changed brands over the last couple of years and they are very distasteful (the salsa is still great). Finally the price for portions are a bit expensive... (their tacos are much smaller than fast food tacos at Taco Bell). Will avoid returning until the fore mentioned is rectified. read more

Sat in the bar area to grab a quick lunch. We ordered pollo Zaragoza (sp?) and two enchiladas. The pollo was covered in sour cream and globs of cheese. I should have sent it back but I pushed all the sour cream and cheese globs off to get to the chicken. Chicken was good but everything else on the plate was terrible. We decided to go here instead of our regular Mexican restaurant. All of the staff are wonderful! Service was excellent and free chips and salsa were delicious. I ordered the lunch special fajitas. They were excellent. I would have loved 6 tortillas instead of 3. I didn't request more, so I'm not sure if they would have accommodated that request or not. The one thing I would skip next time would be the guacamole. It tasted like store bought rather than freshly made. The decor is wonderful! The place filled up quickly for a Monday at lunch time. Enjoyed our first visit, although it was the day before Cinco de Mayo and already quite busy. Plenty of parking, great "old world Mexico" ambiance. Excellent, prompt, and perfectly paced service from the moment we walked in. We started with the "house" margaritas, which were very good. I ordered the smaller version, which was perfect for me. Chips and salsa came promptly to the table. I ordered the tortilla soup, which I thought was surprisingly just so-so. ( and believe me...in my lifetime, I have eaten a LOT of this soup ).
