I've been coming to this location for several years and have struggled recently to find a technician with an updated license for emissions testing. Many places have had a shortage of licensed technicians, and their start times have been much later in the day, making it very challenging to get this done. I want to thank the tech for providing excellent customer service in such a swift and professional manner! After trying to get this resolved for 3 weeks, he finally got it done. Every year you need to do some things for your car: emissions test, oil changes, wipers changed. These guys are on top of it and are friendly so you should come here to spend your money. These guys are super quick and efficient, you sit in the car and they really do have your oil changed in about 5 minutes. I am writing this review to say: that for any military or veterans out there, Take 5 offers a massive 20% discount on services for Veterans! That really tipped the balance for me, and I started taking all my vehicles there. You have to ask for a discount and maybe show proof of service (I have DV plates). So rather than chase coupons and specials I can beat Walmart any day with Take 5. I am giving the 4 stars because this location has had some staffing instability (sort of hard-to-find people who want to drain hot oil from cars on a 110-degree day with no air conditioning) and sometimes they have been out of my preferred oil. But 6/8 times everything has gone quite smoothly, and the price is right. This shop puts the oil filter on too tight and other shop is not able to remove. I have had to return to take 5 twice to have them remove the filter. The first time they apologized and said they had to do a full service oil change and did so at no charge. I thought this was just a one time issue. But it is not. Since I had to go back to them a second time this past weekend when Valvoline could not remove the filter again. I offered a filter so they could replace when they removed the tightened filter but they refused to use it. This time take 5 did not tell me there would be a charge until after they put oil in my car. When I refused to pay since it was not my fault the filter was too tight. I did not approve a complete oil change/ was not given the opportunity to.... the employee Josiah threatened to call the police if I did not pay and leave. I felt bullied to pay. I felt taken advantage of as a woman there alone. I don' t know why they didn't offer to loosen the filter so I could return to Valvoline to have them complete the job there. I know they have to be salesman and ask their clients for additional services, but he was very honest in showing me filters that did not need to be replaced. And filters that did. My young grandson was charged $123.74 for an oil change. He was pitched a radiator flush and replacement of two hoses. I can only imagine what the final bill may have been if he had not called me for advice. Enter this location in the Woodlands with caution. I love Take 5 and been going for years to the location close to my house in Katy! However this location is close to my work. Unfortunately I had a bad experience here . Customer service ..is so subpar. Came during lunch time and each bay had 2 cars waiting so I know it's pretty busy . No biggie . I'm willing to wait. They changed my oil and after about 15 minutes came back and told me they didn't have the fasteners to put my skid plate back on. They told me I could buy some on Amazon. Totally unacceptable. I came in to get my oil changed and now have a broken car. She tried to tell me it's not broken and I told her it's got a part missing so it's broken. 50 minutes and still waiting. Just completed. I drove away and stopped to check and only half the fasteners were connected. Never again!!! read more

I had a meet up nearby and decided to stop for my smog check (I'm 10 years a Texan and I still forget what it's called here!). An employee came out to see "what I wanted" and told me the state check would only take a few minutes and I'd be in there in less than ten minutes. Twenty five minutes later, I pull into the bay. Everything is going fine until the tech tells me my wipers are streaking, must be dry rot, have to be replaced to pass inspection. My wiper blades were RainX only a year old, I couldn't see the streaking but, even if I could, he was pointing to the lower right corner of the windshield..... which doesn't matter as a driver. I got forced into buying new blades at $25/per. He threw my blades into the trash and, when I asked to have them back, he said he wouldn't be able to find them (?!?!). I hate when men think women are suck complete idiots that this kind of scamming is okay. I had to replace them a few months later (today) because the ones I was forced to buy from them were absolute garbage and I REALLY couldn't see in the rain, despite wiping them down with a cloth etc. Avoid. It was cool someone handed water (that I didn't accept) likely a new employee, but it went downhill from there. Last year, our truck passed inspection with the tint at the exact location and we lived there since 1980 so I'm no troublemaker. My main grief is why make me wait 20-30 minutes if you are going to test the tint. Just let me drive through instead of checking the registration (really?!?!?!?) so you can see if it is stolen?!?!?!?!?!? For at least 15 minutes I sat in the bay then saw at least 5 minutes of 3 employees doing nothing in the bay. Getting rejected is no problem, but wasting my time is a big negative. I've driven that truck with DPS and Montgomery Cty. Sheriff around, I never been stopped for tint, but if I did, I'd be happy donate to the ticket for tint. Enjoy inspecting in 2025 read more

For years, I've had my oil change done at one company and decided to go to this location because it was closer to my house. So I went to this location a few months ago and Cornelius, Taylor, Travis and another guy helped my family and I and they were so kind and their service was so great that it made us want to go back. They even offered water and drinks as we sat and waited. They did not have to do that. TODAY, we went back and was very very disappointed. Josiah was very rude. We were constantly trying to be upsold and Josiah tried to do the wiper scam in which we declined. They were man handling the parts on our car, as if they were deliberately trying to break them. They told us we had a oil leak. Also, when I got ready to pay, I had a coupon that an employee in the head office had given me to use. Josiah did not want to scan the coupon and asked me where I got it from. I told him, I got it from an employee from the Headquarters office. He stood looking confused and after asking him to scan it. He scanned it and told me if we came back in the future for another oil change, he was not scanning it again. Kindly I say, No Worries, on that one; I want EEEEVER be back. A huge jump from the last time, we came. I don't ever like to leave bad reviews and always try to find something positive but unfortunately I couldn't find anything. Had Max & Summer service my car today. I was greeted immediately upon driving up and they were able to get me in right away. They were efficient, timely and helpful. I went with the least expensive full synthetic because I plan on trading my car in this week, still came to $96 and some change, which is expected with this inflation, but paid cash and left a tip for them working in this heat. 5/29/24-1/2 star Unprofessional, poor customer service. Went to Take 5 in Panther Creek to have regular oil change. The techs removed the underside engine cover plate, didn't ask or tell me, and then when I looked underneath, I saw it was missing. I went back and found it in the trash. I confronted techs and they said they had to remove it to change the oil. There is a circular hole where past techs have changed the oil with no problem. Techs would not check the air filter giving a bogus excuse that they didn't want to mess up any wires. No manager available to discuss. Suggest you find another oil change location. read more

Not sure if I can recommend against this place enough. It was the worst experience I've had. Brought our car in for an oil change. They said we needed to get fuel injectors cleaned as well. I elected to let the do the work. I drove the car in (less thank 60K miles) with no issue. It would not start after their "work". On diagnosis we had to replace the starter. No problems with the starter prior to this incident, and the shop said a starter shouldn't be going out with so little miles. Shop mentioned this could have been related to the fuel injector "work" done by this location. Manager and area manager contacted me but refused any accountability or liability. Sent in estimates from shop work as requested, but never received a return phone call from manager. Also just brought car in for a second opinion on something unrelated, and they said the oil was not changed either. Not at all sure what we paid this location for. The WORST customer service experience I've ever had. Went in for an $80 oil change and ended up needing $1000 worth of work. read more

I parked behind another car and sat there for 50 mins watching the 3 staff arguing and bumbling around. I ended up leaving before I could even get asked a question because I didn't trust a single one of those employees to service my vehicle. However as I pulled up today and said what I needed the tech told me "Well you'll have to get one or the other, then drive around, get back in line and get the other service, I can't guarantee your spot" ‍. There were 3 cars in front of us and it took about an hour from arrival to leaving. Not too shabby in my book.
