I was told I needed a wheel alignment and agreed to have that done since there was one car on the rack and I was next. Four hours later the car was ready. As I was getting in the car, I saw a greasy hand print on the light colored fabric on the drivers seat. My radio station had been switched and no more than a block away my check engine light came on. I returned to Grease Monkey where I stayed for another hour as they tried to figure out what happened. After over an hour and no one making eye contact, a tech came out to tell me all of the screws in my air box were stripped and a new one would be ordered. They said they would order a new one and call me. I called the store mid week and asked if it was ordered and they said no. Was going to get ordered, I asked. We're talking about it was the reply. So, after five hours in their waiting room, over $250 spent, I have a car with a check engine light on, stained upholstery and a ruined airbox and the 4th of July weekend coming up. Things happen, but the lack of respect Grease Monkey has shown me as a customer and my car is unacceptable and disappointing.

A major move in 2021 to Idaho Falls gives me the ability to explore new businesses. It is exciting…read morefor me to be able to review these offerings on Yelp. Moving to a new city is scary, especially when I need car repairs and my car is not new, so I will need repairs. Someone recommended Wally's as honest, very good, but not the least expensive. I checked out their reviews and they were excellent, so I gave them a try. I had the car in for an oil change, front end alignment, and just look around to see what is what. I had a small leak which I photographed and showed them so they could check this out. My car is nineteen years old and is great shape all around with low mileage. I'm holding out on replacement because I really don't want another car. My Toyota Sequoia is amazing. Well, they diagnosed a major problem and one I suspected was present. I needed new axles in the front of my car which was causing an issue with steering. The steering wheel was extremely difficult to turn and on a road trip back to Boise we suspected something was wrong. The leak was something totally different and I will mention this later in my review. I found Jack at the main desk was very willing to explain things to me and I had a lot of questions before spending major monies for repairs. I decided to have the work done, they found me a loaner, and when I picked my car up the next day it was amazing how much easier the steering wheel turned. Definitely the difficult steering problem was fixed. But now I had a leak of black grease on the garage floor. So I photographed the leaked black fluid and they took the car back. Again they provided me with a loaner and they found some grease which could have been causing the leak. So after the cleanup I drove my car back home. But the next morning the leak was still there. So back in it went. Now I don't blame Wally's for this need to be looked at again. It turns out they were being cautious with my money. I truly appreciate this! Again they could have wracked up a lot more charges and they didn't. During the replacement of the CV Axle one of the seals began to leak. This was not a cheap fix, and they could have upped the charge initially and replaced both in the initial work. As it turns out they only had to replace one seal, not both, and that saved me a lot of money. I like a cautious mechanic! Definitely saved me money and repaired only what was needed. As to the leak I initially took the car in for...turns out it is an air conditioning fluid leak and can wait until Spring time to fix it. So again they are a cautious, but careful repair shop. I will continue to use Wally's as my repair shop. And grateful that they are able to work on nineteen year old cars!

Tess Weaver, Single-handedly saved a auto customer with her above and beyond customer service. The…read morerest of Sears Customer Service Department and Offline were UNHELPFUL and kept giving me the run around, I would give them 1 star if I could. Sears Auto in Salt Lake closed earlier this year and of course my battery had to go out. I was given a customer service number who at that point in time advised that I was indeed still under my battery warranty and that Offline would contact me for the warranty process. I received an email pretty quickly from Offline and they advised that since I did not have a nearby location to go ahead and purchase a car battery, submit the receipt and they would reimburse me via check up to $162 - which was the cost of my battery I purchased at Sears Auto. Done. Went and purchased a new battery, submitted the receipt and I got a reply from offline pretty quickly again -- but this time Offline stated that I was only eligible for a store credit for Sears or KMart. SERIOUSLY? No one shops at Sears or KMart - I only shopped at Sears Auto prior to. When I called Customer Service they advised to reply to the email and state that I was not interested in Store Credit and instead for a reimbursement. Offline replied again stating that they no longer offer that option and I would have to contact a Store Manager at the nearest location to me for help -- which is Idaho Falls. What a pain that they couldnt just gotten me taken care of right then and there. Apparently their policy just changed this week that they could not issue reimbursements. How convenient. Calling Sears Auto in Idaho Falls, got in touch with Tess. She advises me that she has never heard of such policy that the store would do the reimbursement. When I told her the situation, she was upset for me that Offline and Customer Service was not able to just get it taken care of me in the first place. She obtained all of my emails and wrote down all of my information and advises that she had to get in touch with her DM/GM in order to move forward with anything. She was off the next day but advised me that she would call me before she left to update me. She indeed called me the same day and gave me a timeline of when to expect to hear back from her. The fact that Tess cared about how I was feeling about the situation, to explain to me the timeline and procedure she had to go through, and the complete follow through tells me that Tess is an incredible employee to Sears Auto. Please do not overlook this review store 6431! I was so frustated during all 9 phone calls because I was instructed to call this person, and then email this person. Thank you Tess for taking care of a customer. You do not go unnoticed.

I checked battery connections, which were clean and tight. One morning it was 5 degrees and the battery wouldn't turn the engine over, and I had to jump start it. I had my trusted local shop, Teton Valley Auto Repair, test the battery and it showed weak. Later, I drove to the Sears store in Idaho Falls and told my story to an unsmiling clerk. He told me to pull the battery and he would test it. His tester showed the battery as being good and he could do nothing for me. Hmmm. So I went to another trusted shop in Idaho Falls, Ross' Diesel and Automotive, and the battery showed weak on their tester also. Since the clerk at Sears wouldn't replace the battery under warranty, I had Ross replace the battery with an Interstate. I stopped at Sears again to tell the clerk that in support of my experience of having a bad battery, two independent tests had showed the battery as being weak and that his tester was apparently faulty and that they should use another. At this, he admitted that they have another tester, but because using it apparently takes about 15 minutes for a test, they don't like to mention or use it. Same fish-eyed stare. No apology. A couple of days later the temperature hit zero and the new Interstate spun the engine over as it should. I should also mention that when the Die Hard was first purchased, the Sears people were apparently ignorant regarding various BMW models and refused to install the battery. There are some models that require caution in disconnecting the battery, but the '08 X3 isn't one of them and they should have a guide to use.
