- Extremely Disappointed with Take 5 Oil Change #1099 (Cordova, TN) On December 20, 2025, I took my 2021 Hyundai Tucson to Take 5 Oil Change #1099 located at 731 N. Germantown Parkway in Cordova, TN for routine maintenance. During that visit, the location performed: * Coolant exchange * Fuel system cleaner service * Full synthetic oil change I trusted this location to properly service my vehicle. However, less than two weeks later, on January 1, 2026, my check engine light came on. After having the vehicle inspected, I was informed that my engine had suffered severe damage related to low/no coolant in the vehicle. I then had my vehicle evaluated by Homer Skelton Hyundai and Genesis of Olive Branch, where I was told the engine only had 25 PSI compression in cylinder 1 when it should have been around 170 PSI. The dealership stated the engine now requires a rebuild or replacement at a cost of approximately $7,596.44. Since discovering the issue, I have repeatedly attempted to contact the Cordova Take 5 location for assistance and accountability. Unfortunately, I have been constantly given the runaround. I was eventually told that the district manager, Zach, was supposed to handle the matter, yet employees stated they could not provide me with a direct phone number or email address for him. Paytin, the manager at the location, has essentially been left to act as the messenger whenever I call, but despite multiple conversations and promises of follow-up, I still have not received any meaningful resolution or communication from ownership or management. I also contacted Take 5 corporate directly, only to be told this Cordova location is a franchise and there is "nothing they can do" except submit tickets to the franchise owner. As of today, I still have not been contacted by the franchise owner or anyone capable of resolving this situation. Meanwhile: * I still do not have my vehicle. * I have been left without reliable transportation. * I've had to file a claim through my insurance company in hopes they can help cover damages. * I am now facing thousands of dollars in engine repairs shortly after a coolant-related service was performed. This has been an incredibly stressful and frustrating experience. I understand that mistakes can happen, but the lack of accountability, communication, urgency, and customer care after such a major engine failure has been unacceptable. I would strongly encourage others to think carefully before allowing this location to service their vehicle. read more

They're always nice every time I go here, very friendly from the time you arrive till you leave They're never pushy if you say no to replacing wipers/air filters etc random car maintenance. They do more than a simple oil filter, they fill your tires, wiper fluid, etc. Always came here for my oil changes and will continue to do so! read more

Waited for over one hour with only 2 cars in front of me - and when it was my turn I didn't have time to wait. There didn't seem to any sense of urgency by anyone. I've been here a couple times before and haven't experienced this issue. read more

I needed an oil change and didn't have a lot of time and Take 5 was the first place that came to mind. I've always noticed their clean exterior and proximity to restaurants that could be a snack if I had to wait. But I had no wait. I looked them up online to get an idea of the prices and I was pleasantly surprised by finding coupons that I could have texted to me for redemption. Upon arrival, I had a micro few minutes wait before I was safely guided into the bay by one of the technicians. He was very patient and articulate as he explained the options. I told him about my coupon and he verified how they could be used before I made my decision. Overall the experience was quick and pleasant. I recommend them. read more

Was surprised to come to this location (I live in FL), first thing, I was brought a bottle of water (surprise 1), the tech was professional, to the point, did not try to up sell services, which was nice, guided me to the stall, then two other techs came out, all doing different things and working together to get me out of there. It took, literally less than 10 minutes. Perhaps a bit longer as all info had to be updated to n their system. Overall a great experience. I visited there today, nice they are open on Sunday. They are well staffed, upon arrival a associate asked if i was a new customer and explained all their offerings, that was great, checked and added all my needed fluids explained what was low, and offered to change my filters. The exlpirence was good, I saw the technician actually double check behind the mechanic after his work! Awesome! My only problem is i was told TWICE my oil lasts 6700 miles. (5w30) (Infiniti q60) but the sticker given to put in the window says my oil will need to be changed in 3000 miles. Left a little confused... But still satisfied... read more

The workers were very polite, however it took a long time for the oil change. I figured it might take a little bit longer than 5 minutes but I was lenient. Spent more than 20 minutes there. I had a specific coupon that was for that specific location (Germantown) and when the worker scanned it, it didn't take off what it was supposed to take off. So I used the general $20 off which made my total about $60 for the synthetic blend high mile oil. My coupon for that location said $27.99 any synthetic oil service so I ended up paying $20 more than planned. No one seemed to care to figure why it didn't work. I wasn't going to argue but I don't plan on coming back. read more

Take 5 Oil Change - My coupon that's valid that only took $15 my oil change - Oil Change Stations Near Me - Cordova, Tennessee

They told me someone had arrived before I did and that I needed to back up so that they could take my spot and go before me. I honestly thought that I had arrived before that person, so I told the worker that I had gotten there before her. They let me in the stall and the manager yells out that "SHE (me) LIED". The other guy comes to me and says they watched the videos and the lady did get there before I did. It was an honest mistake, I wasn't trying to skip, I had been waiting a while and thought I was the next in line. They pull her into the stall next to mine to switch to work on hers first (which was fine with me). Another worker starts yelling at me saying "you lied. You lied." He continues to mouth off to me as I try to say it was an honest mistake. I turn to tell the other guy that I just need to go somewhere else. He and the one who mouthed off to me did something under my hood and then let me go. I told the only nice one that I really thought I had arrived first and I was fine with them letting her go before me, but the attitude of the manager and the other worker was appalling and lacked any professionalism. The rude worker came around gave me the "peace" sign and said "we have other customers." I have never received such service before and am shocked. read more

I had an amazing experience here getting my oil change done as we were driving across country. The staff members were amazing especially the manager there. He gave us the discounts that were possible as we are healthcare workers. The oil change was quick and done right as they come to you and show you the oil level. They did the point inspection, and top offed all the fluids. Great bunch and I will highly recommend them. Please do go check them out. They take credit cards, you don't have to step out of the car, they only use Castrol motor, and over all great people who genuinely care for and do their job with love. read more

I have a Volkswagen Tiguan took it in for oil changed. 5 days later walk out to oil in my driveway where my car had been parked. Took it back they never owned up to it being something they did. That was after adding about 4 quarts of oil and me sitting for about 20 minutes while they fix what was wrong. They clearly did not put the oil filter on correctly. Houston who said he was the manager actually said to me "I am not a mechanic!" This was actually the 2nd time this has happened to my car. Will not be back for a third! read more

They told me to come in, and Addie, Charles, and Derek took AMAZING care of me AND my car!!! Came here because I moved to a place where I'm not allowed to work on my own car. Brought my own supplies because I'd never been here. They did a great job. Service was fast. Showed me my air filter, but didn't PUSH for me to get it replaced like some places. Topped off windshield wiper fluid and filled my tires too, which was really nice. They were all very courteous and the price was very fair. That said... I opened my hood today for the first time since then, and found that my hood latch hinge had been damaged. I couldn't open my hood at first because of that. I can bend it back into the correct shape later. But had this been someone who doesn't know anything about cars and can't do anything themselves, they would now have a car with a broken hood latch. To ME... it's an annoyance that will be corrected. To other people, that could be a deal breaker. That's for you to decide. Besides the hood latch issue, I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone that just needs an oil change. read more
